  • This was out long before "lion sleeps etc"

  • I remember hearing this way back. There was no lion sleeps tonight on this version. It is as close to the original as you could get. I've never heard anyone come close to singing this like Karl did.

  • i am 71 .and i remember when this first came out .everone went mad for it .the record stores couldnt keep up with demand.

    brilliant voice.

  • Played in the Riverside Folk Club Glasgow Jed Morris and Serpents Skiffle Group late fifties. Karl also played there. I hated him, he was brilliant. Long blond hair, unheard of then, and a fabulous voice.

  • My favourite song, too, when I was nine back in the very early sixties. I haven't heard it since so it was a pleasure to hear it again. I feel it's aged a little yet I still got some of the spine tingling moments I used to get listening to it back then.
