To get anything new (Thats COOL) in 1.1 you need to go to hell get a Voodoo Doll and throw it in the Lava in Hell. This will summon the Wall Of Flesh, As soon as you kill him HARDMODE will begin in your world. Also after you kill the Wall of Flesh will drop the PwnHammer :). He also has a Chance to drop something else :D. Hope this has Helped you and GOOD LUCK.

if you want all the new things then kill the wall of flesh but get ready cuz the game will go on hard mode and new mobs will spawn that can kill you easly if you are to low level. also the corruption will start spreading twice as fast so you will haveto find a way to stop it and the hallow which is a new biome added i advise three block wide retainer the coruption can only get through 2 blocks so it will stop it. hope i helped

Sly, I think you should try to get angel wings. What you have to do is find a floating island so that you can Harpies to get 20 feathers. Then you need to get a soul of flight. I forgot where you have to make them but I would check the wiki.

For beds you need a sawmill, Then you need a loom from the sawmill. The loom will make the silk for the bed

Just so you know the white dragons are called wyverns, they have 4000 health, only spawn after you killed the wall of flesh, spawn up around floating island level, and are they can do like 60's to you I think. (I may be wrong on that but from my battles with them that seems like the amount of damage I have recieved with Cobalt armour on)
