How can 7 people dislike this?!?!?! 2 of the most inspirational singers of all time singing a duet, how can anything in their right mind dislike this?!?!?
To sing anything less than "formal" was VERY difficult for Pavarotti, it's wonderful to see him let his hair down and just do it. He was obviously having a very good time! Wonderful to see!
Not sure why, but I felt like finding liza music tonight, and I was in the mood for something like this..breathtaking in all its glory, what a combo of vocal power yet great jubilation ;)
@TheVengador60 how can you call this great talent mediocre..he was having fun with the song..despite stepping out of his element...there will never be another pavarotti..he was a huge talent
@marjanf56 Maybe you did not read my message well or just did not understand it
I call him mediocre as a human being late in his life having to take part on those horrible concerts with pop singers.
He is not having fun at all,he is struggling trying to understand the words-which he pronounces horribly-cannot get into the right key and looks stupid.
@TheVengador60 , this is good clean stunning stuff with class and jubilation, unlike the stuff they call music today ( some of it is pure garbage),,, you no doubt listen to...current generations have no clue, or at least you anyway...try again when you aren't on crack.
@leebojammin What you call "class and jubilation" I call terrible taste and lack of a minimum sense of good taste.
He does not know the words and (worst of all) cannot make the modulation at the right time.
Pure garbage are people like you that have no idea what good music is good about and pontificate on this forum just because two" celebrities" are singing in a horrible manner.
You have no clue you imbecile.
My "crack"is good taste and knowledge of music yours is pure shit.
@TheVengador60 You call it bad taste, but that is just because you are terribly jealous , &/or have NO clue what good music, and good people are. All your comments are indicative of someone with zero taste, and hate running through their heart. All you can do is name call, which shows exactly WHY you can't appreciate this. Imagine that. Grow up, talk to a counselor and come back and try again.
@TheVengador60 , well now, it's PERRRfectly clear why you can't appreciate a well done, incredibly romantic , and soulfully delivered performance like this one. Anyone that would have the nerve to tell someone to go and die, is someone who should be in jail, and at the very least have their youtube posting rights permanantly REMOVED. I shall make it so.
@TheVengador60 I don't mean to pick a fight, I just thought you should know they are singing in two different keys, and Liza's music breaks every rule that Pavaro spent his life studying, as does his music break every rule in Liza's book. If you want to get technical, Liza isn't pronouncing the words right either, she's speaking American English. I'm going to block you so you don't invade my email inbox.
@IToldHimNotToDoIt Wrong all the way:it is impossible to sing in 2 different keys, maybe 2 different styles but not 2 different keys:even a child would know that.
Second,Pavarotti's English is horrible,is not even a language.
Again, they are 2 great perfomers that became two sad cases of doing anything to make a buck.
Who cares to ïnvade your privacy? i discuss these matters with people that has a minimum of knowledge of music, not with illiterates like you.
@TheVengador60 I sense a misunderstanding, your language fluency isn't quite perfect. In defense of Pavaro, your English is mediocre. What you need to master is English grammar because it is just horrible. English is nothing without grammar. What is insulting isn't poor English, it is using poor English in a comment insulting another for lesser, errors in pronunciation. Four Glaring Errors you've made. Fix them, then go and read about punctuation and how to use it properly, capicé Mr Mozart?
@TheVengador60 I just want to know why you know I have no musical back round. I am well educated, in both academics and in music theory. I will post video just for you, I play more than one instrument, namely Piano, Guitar, organ, violin. I never ever said I thought you were wrong regarding the singer's on stage, I agree with you. I don't know what you do,. but I'd like to see something you can do musically, upload a video.
@IToldHimNotToDoIt I thought that you were an erudite in English grammar, also (in my poor uneducated English)I know that it is written "background"and not "back round" as you so wrongly wrote.
How do I know you have no musical education?actually it is very simple:two singers cannot sing at the same time in "two different keys" as you asserted in your first email.
You might be well educated but not in music,no way
I have no interest in seeing you playing anything.
@TheVengador60 I apologize for rudely insulting your English. I should clarify what key means in this context. The concept is dissonance, Singing in one key while another vocalist harmonizing another key, a sound dark and ominous, and very deep. Consonance, dissonance, and resolution, minus dissonance, limits the composers emotional spectrum by eliminating melancholic expression. Resolution is enhanced when following dissonance. Operas without this lose depth, for ex., in sinister scenes.
@IToldHimNotToDoIt You can go over and over with words and concepts that are just that:only a combination of words that means nothing in this particular case.
Two people cannot sing the same song in two different keys,is that simple.
In this particular case is so clear that they are singing(wrongly I have to say again)in the SAME KEY which shlud be F major.
Your vague concept might refer as to style but not keys.
@TheVengador60 I am still wondering how you know so much about my musical abilities, and are so sure I lack all musical talent and creative ability in that area. It is more interesting studying chemistry, and thrive in pharmacology, I do that well and enjoy it as much as I enjoy music. I have not met a musician really concerned with putting other guys down, the guys I play with just want to make music and joy. For some, Musicality is a gift from God for whom school is only a minor tool.
@TheVengador60 entertain, to enlighten first, and then I think about money. Virginia Woolf wrote and never expected recognition. Her 40 years of private papers published posthumously, she makes clear several times in the voluminous diary an in different ways, the same basic belief .I will paraphrase, "I write for its my love, nothing reaches what exhilaration I derive from the act of writing alone...." -V. Woolf
@marjanf56 Me too, its amazing high quality, high energy singing. They are both giants both in voice and spirit. Anyone that does not get that, is either on drugs, only likes hARD rock ( or some other insane new music sensation ) or has some family or otherwise 'fued' with these lovely people.
@devonnn18 Hey, devon, are you a New Yorker? I guess you probably are. . Foriegn countries spell some American words differently especially in England Scotland and Wales and Northern Ireland. . RIP Luciano Pavarotti RIP Lee Minnelli Cheers. from, del-boy.
@bratrat I couldn't agree more,,what a spectacle of two great voices, enjoying each others magnificence & passion, and joining to be one ( especially ending) and making it nothing short of breaktaking ;)
I frigging love her. She is so smiley and talented and I think beautiful and if that's not enough we get to see little glimpses of her equally talented and beautiful mother in her. :-D
@alquimista11 She is a pro.............in my opinion she is the only one that inherited that broadway, hollywood glamour from sinatra, fred and ginger, her mom..........I mean I look at Catherine Zeta and the Renne and all the lights and Fx..............well not even Spilberg can make them shine as Liza does.
Is anybody noticed that when Liza Minnelli entered to the stage Luciano kissed her but he wanted to kiss on her two cheeks, but he doesn't succeed to do that because she to much hurried to sing. so after the song Luciano doesn't let her run away from him again and he caught her head and then kissed her. first on her forehead and then on her two cheeks. ha ha bravo maestro i love you.

How sad to see one of the best tenors ever to make part of this charade...
His English was horrible,he acts as a retarded and has no idea when the modulation comes on where to go!!!
Sad old man, poor Pavarotti he was really a very mediocre human being inside a great talent.
Now I am sure that God has a great sense of humorism!!!

Disregardless of my good or bad English the fact is that you know nothing of music so there is no way you can defend something you know nothing about.

Instead of counting my errors make an effort and try to undertsand that what these two pathethic caracters are doing is pure shit.

@IToldHimNotToDoIt I also received the other message regarding Miss Woolf that you, very cleverly, erased.
Artistic production is 10% inspiration and 90% trasnpiration.
The difference between a proffesional and a non proffesional is that the first one knows what he is doing ,the second one is just "having fun"

IToldHimNotToDoIt 2 weeks ago
@IToldHimNotToDoIt Well then that is your case, you play for "joy" not because you are a proffesional musician.
My criticism to both of those perfomers is that are proffesionals not dilettanti and get paid a lot of money for it.
The way they sing, the whole show is ,to say the least, nauseating.
Again:I am sorry to see an old Pavarotti doing such a poor spectacle of himself.
Liza has a good excuse:she is an ex-alcoholic and ex-drug addict so she is just trying her best.
