I had a 2008 si and I used to think it was fast. Now I have a 2010 ss because of all the problems I had with the civic. It's not so fast in my mind now lol
this is my cobalt & the civic owner is a good friend of ours. he is now running 9.5psi & its a side by side race. If he wanted to he could crank the boost up & walk my ass but he doesnt wanna risk trashing his tranny.
K20s do not really have a power curve, it's more of a stock market chart when VTEC (lol) engages. Whereas us LNF owners have a very nice power curve, DISI and VVT FTW
@Turbalt dude i have an si , and you have no idea what your talkin bout. without the turbo or supercharger cobalts dont have shit. put a 2.4 agains a REAL 2.0 and see what happens n/a to n/a. or, put 20 psi in a cobalt and then put 20 psi in an si and then see what happens.
@Boyfrom53rdn3rd A stock civic would dump its guts on 20 lbs of boost idiot or is that still not "fair" enough for you or should we give your civic a built motor as well?
torque is what pulls you but doesn;t neccesarily means you'll beat a car with less tourque and more hp. I've beat cars with more torque. My car pulls just fine with it's torque, curve, besides I'm on low boost and wouldn't take much more to make 300+whp
it seems like honda owners dont understand... K20's have higher flowing heads for one so they can make more power with less boost, a higher compression ratio so another reason for the low boost, and a bigger size turbo. The cobalt was set up stock for F/I meaning it has lower compression and the downfall is the flowing of the head it has more of a restriction meaning more boost but less power plus its only a k04 turbo not very big
We also don't have to rev up to 10,000 RPM to get it to move. The LNF has a different compression ratio than the K20, we can handle the boost just fine and so can our tranny, more than I can say about the SI. What's your torque at? An outstanding 200?
The aftermarket turbo kits always produce more power with lower psi than the turbos that come stock. My SS runs a 24psi but the stock turbo is smaller than that GT2871R
@MaddDogg81... 254whp, oh shit.. don't hurt yourself... lol... I have a bolt-on LNF with over 300whp.....and over 350ft-lbs of torque.... would LOVE to see the torque curve of your K20, lol.... horsepower sells cars, torque wins races
lnf is a better engine lsj is just Easier to work with because its non di.

The K 20 rules. I mean only 8psi he kept up with the 23psi Cobalt. I have a turbo RSX get 254whp on about 6.5psi
