@Oreillyisthebest In HapKiDo, its called the spinning-back-kick. In my 1st & only tournament (which I won the heavyweight title for) I used this on my 1st opponent: right in the gut, really hard!. Inside a 12ft square ring, he flew 6ft through the air and then slid on the floor all the way out!! It was amazing. Man, was I nervous!! haha.

@JoseCircle It seem you have no idea about Joe Rogans record, and what are you saying? That this kick is bad? Even pro UFC fighters like GSP say Joe Rogan has the best back spinning kick he has ever seen. Why dont you post a clip of you and your dad and show us how its done?

@soetakillar mma or some fighting competition on tv but i saw him get beaten like that and my dad to this day still reminds me of why he doesnt like joe rogan and that he talks too much about things he doesnt know
@JoseCircle You're an idot. Check Joe Rogan's resume and you will see ha was quite the Tae Kwon Do competitor. And that includes spinning back kicks. So I'm pretty sure he knows what he's talking about. Tell your dad the same for me when he calls you out of your room for dinner time.
@tiasboi3able There is like 5 million people that can do that kick. Because there is like 5 million black belts in TKD.This guy 50 year old Rogan ever since hes started hosting the UFC couldnt stay off steroids and thinks hes a pro fighter himself. Please put a pro fighter hosting the UFC not this WANNABE lol
@JoseCircle You are such a little bitch. Everybody disagrees with you. Your dad is a pussy who beats you and thats why you think he is so tough. Go out for you local wrestling team and you will find out that even a small portion of mma is too tough for you. Until you have mastered one of the main disciplines of mma stop acting like an expert.
@edasnoraa you mad cuz you cant do shit bro? come prove me wrong i train at the local sparring gym you panzy grow some balls then come talk shit. and my dad aint no fucking pussy bitch. you have no idea what the fuck hes been through. my blood runs fuckin deep in fighting. my great grandfather was an original street fighter fighting in germany for the championships. learn to fight then talk shit
i could almost imagine that cung lee kick being illegal in the ufc. i think could seriousl kill someone. taking that straight to the stomach or ribs would seriously fuck you up.
I'd love to see Joe do that kick to someone for reall and witness the devastation thumbs up if you wanna see Joe Rogan kick a smart dummie on fight science
Joe Rogan is a beast! There was so much power in that kick wow! it's no wonder he's a champion, I've trained martial arts for 7 years and have done that kick a thousand times and seen it done by dozens of fighters but that is hands down the most lethal powerfull turnning side kick ive ever seen G.S.P. agrees you can look up a vid on here where Joe teaches him the proper technique. Thanks Joe great demonstration.
Good explanation i tried to do this kick and a lot of times i didnt hit the target well. Because i make the mistake that he points out. Nice kick by the way a lot of power.
That was a really good explination, Joe. I'm a martial arts novice, but that's probably one of the best technique breakdowns I've seen yet. Especially around the 2 min mark. Good job.
I also apologize if I sounded harsh but it did sound like you were saying your art was better so respect there. And I did read you whole comment... Now your contradicting your self when saying bjj wouldnt be good because of your awarness of your environment which I completely respect again, but then your also saying that it has just as much chance as every other system. Now I do MMA but I have never gotten into a street fight. I fight for sport, not to sound or look tougher. I respect the art...
you would be right IF people only used one art. Now what if I'm and experienced muay thai fighter and have BJJ as a back ground as well Then I would be good in close and and on the ground. I'm not saying you would go right to the ground and choke the guy out but if the opportunity presented its self anybody would. Now street fighting is over rated anyway unless your in a ghetto ass city or in the favela of brazil, your not gna get stabbed or shot from behind.
@BonjourGorgeous i don't think so, he's VERY well payed, and he doesn't have to worry about being in shape or training for shit. he can do other things. I think if he was offered to fight he would refuse... i would.
@nahuelfantino well thats coz u clearly have no fighters spirit, its not about the money.. but then u have zero clue what im talkin abut, just be humble and except that on this 1 some1 knows whats their talking about and u dont
@BonjourGorgeous Well i didn't want to start a discussion about who knows more about this. But if you feel like comparing, feel free to watch what i did on my channel, and compare it to your activity. I said that about Joe because i listen to his podcast and i know how he handles his time, he says it all the time. No disrespect to you, so please don't try to be tough behind your pc, it's not worth it. Good luck man. Peace
@nahuelfantino who tryin 2 b tough? im just sayin its not about the money, any1 that train any martial arts should have a fighters spirit, sayin that alot of people learn it purely 4 self defence so the NEVER have to use it, myself ive trained for years and love competing/fighting there a buzz like no other getting hit/cut/bruised and fighting on, im not going to check ur channel but i assume u train too and are probibly the latter so, if any tough talk should be spared its yours.
The comment he made about ving tsun was stupid too. Because if you have taken Ving tsun, you would realize its literally almost the same as BJJ. They work the same concepts, angles, trapping. The only difference is BJJ is more suitable for ring and ground fighting (1v1) and ving tsun tries to avoid going to the ground as much as possible(street fight,1v3). They both are all about better positioning and angles, keeping elbows in and and learning to feel your opponents energy so you can trap him.
@nahuelfantino Nah you just suck man. By the way love all your bjj movies on your profile. I love how people like Joe rogan and you say wing chun sucks. I take both systems and I am here to tell you BJJ and Ving tsun are very similiar. BOth focus on keeping elbows in. Maintain a relaxed state so you can feel the opponents energy. Both focus on better positioning and trapping. Both utilize knowledge of angles and the same concepts. WC wants to stay standing and BJJ wants to go to ground.
@nahuelfantino they literally go hand and hand. Great if used together. BJJ is more built for ring fighting and warriors and ving tsun is more for survival and awareness. Street skills if you will. Ultimately though it doesn't matter what style you use. Once you understand that martial arts is really all about time space and energy, doesnt really matter what I know as long as I am efficient at what I do.
@nahuelfantino In real world violence, my ving tsun stands just as much chance as bjj or any other system. Because it is me who will be surviving not the style. So to be quite honest, I would much rather practice something that doesn't require me to do the b gay gay dance with hot sweaty men. Especially when a good portion of BJJ moves can be easily countered when there is no rules and your life is on the line. Not to mention your on the ground wasting time and causing back problems.
@kikme420 Shit i was training with my instructor the other day and I pissed him off and he put me in some crazy rear naked choke variation which caught me off guard. I instinctively grabbed his fingers and pulled and he whined for like 10 minutes about it, how you can't do that in the ring.
Ok BJJ isn't all ground, and yea try doing something when your are getting your elbow or knee ripped apart. Easy to talk man try doin research first. Now I'm not saying BJJ is the best, it's about taking what works from all disciplines. Each fighter crafts his or her own style so dont hate and think your better than everyone.
@ThePitbull2009 Never said I was better than anyone. I was making the same point you are. Its not about styles its about the person. ANd yes BJJ is all ground no striking. BJJ is not the same as original JJ . BJJ was specifically geared towards ring fighting aka take downs and ground game. The striking is just part of MMA what you add into your bjj to be well rounded. I have never learned any striking or stand up in BJJ class unless it was a takedown from standing. Y don't you do your research.
@ThePitbull2009 And dude, why don't you read my comments before you flame me and accuse me of doing exactly what your doing. I was trying to explain how ving tsun and BJJ are very similar. They both teach the same concepts one focuses on ground the other standing. Both focus on close range fighting BJJ being grappling range and vingtsun close range. Both systems core focuses are trapping, understand angles and better positioning, feeling the opponents energy, and keeping elbows in.
@ThePitbull2009 You probably read the comment about B gay gay only. All I was stating is that I would prefer not to train a system that requires me to roll around with sweaty men all day when outside of the ring bjj is just as effective as any other system. Real violence never happens like Martial artists think it will. And unless you have lived a hard life, most people don't have the experience to know what its like to go through life/death situations. Only experiences and instincts matter here
@kikme420 By the way. When have you ever seen a real fight between two trained martial artists out on the streets? Never. at least anymore. Most people will go down with one well placed punch or avoid fighting all together. So BJJ is really unnessary unless your a cop or a bouncer. PLus the last place you wanna end up in any place outside of the ring is the ground. Ever got road rash on your back? Not to mention ball shots, eye shots, finger pulling, neck chopping, back of head elbowing..
@kikme420 You're right, alot of people don't thinka bout Martial Arts outside the cage. They say TKD isn't effect, it actually is.... Every martial art has it's usefulness on the street. If the guy has me on the ground I want jiujitsu or wrestling. if its a stand up fight I want some kind of striking art, karate/taekwondo or muay thai. Now I wanna be able to counter their strikes so hapkido/aikido will be good for that area. It all has a purpose.
@HollywoodKendrick Yeah, certain aspects are effective, but not everything. That's why I think it's to have learn MMA that basically brings together all these different effective styles into one, while weeding out the ineffective parts.
@HollywoodKendrick Think of Martial arts not as styles but time/space/energy. Each STYLE was created with a certain purpose in mind. Maybe they needed more range so they used kicks. Maybe the needed to take the enemy to the ground and disarm them cause they broke there weapon and the enemy had armor on( jj). Everything is effective, its all about timing.
@HollywoodKendrick The reason why MMA is regarded as the most effective system of combat is because first off its the only reason we fight hand to hand these days( competition) and the people who train for these things train vigorously everyday. Even bruce said I fear more the man who does one kick 10000 times then the man who knows 10000 different kicks. Most MMA fighters have mastered what they do and tend to have 5 or so techniques they know they can pull off.
@HollywoodKendrick Most people who train martial arts for a hobby don't dedicate nearly as much time and tend to learn from schools which teach 5000 techniques. Yes this might help in the streets when instincts take over but in the ring its next to useless if you dont have the conditioning and experience. BJJ, Muay thai, wres. all these systems have been proven in the ring, so everyone wants to do those systems instead of trying others. Not to mention how most styles are trash talked by MMA vets
@HollywoodKendrick Then they will argue, oh ya well in the original UFC there were alot of styles it has just evolved into what works best. What works best in the ring maybe I can argee with that, but just because someone comes and beats everyone using BJJ doesn't mean BJJ is the best, just means the person behind it is the best.
@kikme420 If your instincts are to go straight to the ground into some crazy leg lock or choke variation then that is what you will do. BUt here is what you wont do. Be aware of everything else around you, because your body is used to training inside a controlled environment. So being stabbed or punched by someone else is a possiblilty, them pulling out a weapon you didnt notice. Once in panic mode cheap shots come. You do an arm bar, the guy bites you and he has hepititis.
Its like, some things he talks about I am right there with him, but then he pulls shit like talking about how styles don't work and do. That's some American meatheaded bullcrap. Why do you gotta feed American ego even more. You can't say shit that makes sense then say shit that doesn't, because now I have know idea when you are the shit or just full of shit.
@kikme420 and of course you had to bust out the American insults. If you think these are concepts that people from your country don't believe in then you are deluded. It has nothing to do with ego. It is a shared understanding found only through experience. When's the last time you saw a credible martial artist who was a ta kwon do specialist and used it consistently? zip, none. You're exaggerating his words. He never gave a definite no and yes.
@55jacos What exactly is a credible martial artist? One who excels in the sport of MMA. All the martial arts train in the world can't prepare you for real life violence. Saying Bjj works in the streets is assuming the fight will be A) mutual B) safe conditions to go to the ground C) Its one on one. If that is all in your favor then you have to deal with the chemical changes your body goes through.
@55jacos Every system of fighting was created for a certain purpose the creator used it for. Each "style" has its advantages and disadvantages. If taken seriously, any system can be learned and used effectively. A true martial artist learns to adapt anyways so why does it matter what style you use? If bjj, muay thai, boxing, judo work best for mma then so be it. That is still only one situation. So saying tae kwon do doesn't work is an egotistical and wrong statement.
@kikme420 Once again, nobody is arguing that tae kwon do not working is as absolute as you're making it seem. It works, but it does not work as well as other forms. You're skewing the argument in your favor by not only twisting his words, but changing them completely. He's even demonstrating a tae kwon do kick he feels works well in MMA.
@kikme420 My argument for bjj being a better art than others is simply that a large percentage of street fights end up on the ground. What good is tae kwon do after that? For bjj of course the best point is on the ground. Of course there are a number of variables to assume, the point is that some forms offer a higher chance of accomplishing that goal (winning).
@55jacos Dude how many street fights have you seen? At that, how many street fights have you seen between professional fighters? How many street fights have you seen between two sober people? Hence why most go to ground. Because most are started by meat heads who end up doing the monkey dance. A martial artist simple avoids fight or gets caught by surprise. There is no other way. No trained fighter is stupid enough to hurt a monkey talking crap. Unless he is like Joe Rogan..lol jk
@55jacos Ya I am pretty sure he has said things like Ving tsun doesn't work. Or tae kwon do isnt effective. And I am saying no he just isn't very effective. The whole idea that a style is better than a style is stupid. A person is better than a person, plain and simple.
@55jacos He sees them as different styles that work or don't work. This is a basic egotistical view on martial arts. Knowing a style of martial arts doesn't mean it will work. To think like a warrior you have to think in terms of time space and energy. Everything has its purpose, its knowing when and how to use it. If I do a side kick does that mean its tae kwon do? Or was it me attacking the closest target while trying to maintain range. Tae kwon do works, Joe Rogan doesn't
Fucking Joe Rogan. I am in no place to talk shit about Joe Rogan, but come on,who takes this guy seriously anymore. Sounds like a meat head. Tae kwon do or any martial for that matter works. They all work well for the things they are created for. The problem is we don't have enough martial artist who care about martial arts enough to train to use those techniques. Everyone wants to take the easy way out and be like the winners they see on TV. ANY STYLE WILL WORK, its the person that wont.
@kikme420 You're an idiot. Joe Rogan is a highly regarded person in the MMA community. His point isn't simply that Tae knwon do doesn't work at all, it's that it isn't as effective as other martial arts. Jiu Jitsu for instance is probably the most effective form of martial arts in a street fight (and one of the most necessary in MMA). BJJ eats tae kwon do any day.
@55jacos By the way. BJJ will get you killed in the streets if you have no experience or a fine tuned instinct and awareness level. Here is an example. I stopped a thief in underground Atlanta. I grabbed him by the shirt and had the idea to just hold him there until security cam. The first thing he does is punches me in the face. Instinctively (had been training mma) I hip-tossed the dude to the ground and mounted him. No problems until his buddies punched me in the back of my head.
@kikme420 Not everyone can control how a fight goes. It has nothing to do with whether or not the fighter knows what he was doing. Joe Rogan is a tae kwon do black belt and was once a world champion and later realized that it was all useless in the real world or fighting outside of tae kwon do settings. To some level of course all of them work. He's simply saying some work more than others. I'm assuming you're a bit bias towards your martial art but these are well established facts.
Joe Rogan reminds me of my uncle haha.

ThePitbull2009 1 month ago
I also apologize if I sounded harsh but it did sound like you were saying your art was better so respect there. And I did read you whole comment... Now your contradicting your self when saying bjj wouldnt be good because of your awarness of your environment which I completely respect again, but then your also saying that it has just as much chance as every other system. Now I do MMA but I have never gotten into a street fight. I fight for sport, not to sound or look tougher. I respect the art...
ThePitbull2009 1 month ago
you would be right IF people only used one art.

They both are all about better positioning and angles, keeping elbows in and and learning to feel your opponents energy so you can trap him.
kikme420 2 months ago
@kikme420 wing chung sucks ass
nahuelfantino 1 month ago
@nahuelfantino Nah you just suck man. By the way love all your bjj movies on your profile. I love how people like Joe rogan and you say wing chun sucks. I take both systems and I am here to tell you BJJ and Ving tsun are very similiar. BOth focus on keeping elbows in. Maintain a relaxed state so you can feel the opponents energy. Both focus on better positioning and trapping. Both utilize knowledge of angles and the same concepts. WC wants to stay standing and BJJ wants to go to ground.
kikme420 1 month ago
@nahuelfantino they literally go hand and hand. Great if used together. BJJ is more built for ring fighting and warriors and ving tsun is more for survival and awareness. Street skills if you will. Ultimately though it doesn't matter what style you use. Once you understand that martial arts is really all about time space and energy, doesnt really matter what I know as long as I am efficient at what I do.
kikme420 1 month ago
@nahuelfantino In real world violence, my ving tsun stands just as much chance as bjj or any other system. Because it is me who will be surviving not the style. So to be quite honest, I would much rather practice something that doesn't require me to do the b gay gay dance with hot sweaty men. Especially when a good portion of BJJ moves can be easily countered when there is no rules and your life is on the line. Not to mention your on the ground wasting time and causing back problems.
kikme420 1 month ago
@kikme420 Shit i was training with my instructor the other day and I pissed him off and he put me in some crazy rear naked choke variation which caught me off guard. I instinctively grabbed his fingers and pulled and he whined for like 10 minutes about it, how you can't do that in the ring.
kikme420 1 month ago
@kikme420
ThePitbull2009 1 month ago in playlist More videos from joerogandotnet
@ThePitbull2009 Never said I was better than anyone. I was making the same point you are. Its not about styles its about the person. ANd yes BJJ is all ground no striking. BJJ is not the same as original JJ . BJJ was specifically geared towards ring fighting aka take downs and ground game. The striking is just part of MMA what you add into your bjj to be well rounded. I have never learned any striking or stand up in BJJ class unless it was a takedown from standing. Y don't you do your research.
kikme420 1 month ago
@ThePitbull2009 And dude, why don't you read my comments before you flame me and accuse me of doing exactly what your doing. I was trying to explain how ving tsun and BJJ are very similar. They both teach the same concepts one focuses on ground the other standing. Both focus on close range fighting BJJ being grappling range and vingtsun close range. Both systems core focuses are trapping, understand angles and better positioning, feeling the opponents energy, and keeping elbows in.
kikme420 1 month ago
@ThePitbull2009 You probably read the comment about B gay gay only. All I was stating is that I would prefer not to train a system that requires me to roll around with sweaty men all day when outside of the ring bjj is just as effective as any other system. Real violence never happens like Martial artists think it will. And unless you have lived a hard life, most people don't have the experience to know what its like to go through life/death situations. Only experiences and instincts matter here
kikme420 1 month ago
@kikme420 By the way. When have you ever seen a real fight between two trained martial artists out on the streets? Never. at least anymore. Most people will go down with one well placed punch or avoid fighting all together. So BJJ is really unnessary unless your a cop or a bouncer. PLus the last place you wanna end up in any place outside of the ring is the ground. Ever got road rash on your back? Not to mention ball shots, eye shots, finger pulling, neck chopping, back of head elbowing..
kikme420 1 month ago
@kikme420 You're right, alot of people don't thinka bout Martial Arts outside the cage. They say TKD isn't effect, it actually is.... Every martial art has it's usefulness on the street. If the guy has me on the ground I want jiujitsu or wrestling. if its a stand up fight I want some kind of striking art, karate/taekwondo or muay thai. Now I wanna be able to counter their strikes so hapkido/aikido will be good for that area. It all has a purpose.

finalcloud13 1 month ago
@HollywoodKendrick Yeah, certain aspects are effective, but not everything. That's why I think it's to have learn MMA that basically brings together all these different effective styles into one, while weeding out the ineffective parts.
finalcloud13 1 month ago
@finalcloud13 So MMA is one style? That makes alot of sense.
HollywoodKendrick 1 month ago
@HollywoodKendrick Yeah, it's a style that borrows select bits and pieces from other martial arts. A custom style.
finalcloud13 1 month ago
@HollywoodKendrick Think of Martial arts not as styles but time/space/energy. Each STYLE was created with a certain purpose in mind. Maybe they needed more range so they used kicks. Maybe the needed to take the enemy to the ground and disarm them cause they broke there weapon and the enemy had armor on( jj). Everything is effective, its all about timing.
kikme420 1 month ago
@HollywoodKendrick The reason why MMA is regarded as the most effective system of combat is because first off its the only reason we fight hand to hand these days( competition) and the people who train for these things train vigorously everyday. Even bruce said I fear more the man who does one kick 10000 times then the man who knows 10000 different kicks. Most MMA fighters have mastered what they do and tend to have 5 or so techniques they know they can pull off.
kikme420 1 month ago
@HollywoodKendrick Most people who train martial arts for a hobby don't dedicate nearly as much time and tend to learn from schools which teach 5000 techniques. Yes this might help in the streets when instincts take over but in the ring its next to useless if you dont have the conditioning and experience. BJJ, Muay thai, wres. all these systems have been proven in the ring, so everyone wants to do those systems instead of trying others. Not to mention how most styles are trash talked by MMA vets
kikme420 1 month ago
@HollywoodKendrick Then they will argue, oh ya well in the original UFC there were alot of styles it has just evolved into what works best. What works best in the ring maybe I can argee with that, but just because someone comes and beats everyone using BJJ doesn't mean BJJ is the best, just means the person behind it is the best.
kikme420 1 month ago
@kikme420 If your instincts are to go straight to the ground into some crazy leg lock or choke variation then that is what you will do. BUt here is what you wont do. Be aware of everything else around you, because your body is used to training inside a controlled environment. So being stabbed or punched by someone else is a possiblilty, them pulling out a weapon you didnt notice. Once in panic mode cheap shots come. You do an arm bar, the guy bites you and he has hepititis.
kikme420 1 month ago
@ThePitbull2009 So no offence. I might nto be better than any body. But I am right.

God bless America I guess!
kikme420 2 months ago
Its like, some things he talks about I am right there with him, but then he pulls shit like talking about how styles don't work and do. That's some American meatheaded bullcrap. Why do you gotta feed American ego even more. You can't say shit that makes sense then say shit that doesn't, because now I have know idea when you are the shit or just full of shit.
kikme420 2 months ago
@kikme420 and of course you had to bust out the American insults. If you think these are concepts that people from your country don't believe in then you are deluded. It has nothing to do with ego. It is a shared understanding found only through experience. When's the last time you saw a credible martial artist who was a ta kwon do specialist and used it consistently? zip, none. You're exaggerating his words. He never gave a definite no and yes.
55jacos 2 months ago
@55jacos What exactly is a credible martial artist? One who excels in the sport of MMA. All the martial arts train in the world can't prepare you for real life violence. Saying Bjj works in the streets is assuming the fight will be A) mutual B) safe conditions to go to the ground C) Its one on one. If that is all in your favor then you have to deal with the chemical changes your body goes through.
kikme420 2 months ago
@55jacos Every system of fighting was created for a certain purpose the creator used it for. Each "style" has its advantages and disadvantages. If taken seriously, any system can be learned and used effectively. A true martial artist learns to adapt anyways so why does it matter what style you use? If bjj, muay thai, boxing, judo work best for mma then so be it. That is still only one situation. So saying tae kwon do doesn't work is an egotistical and wrong statement.
kikme420 2 months ago
@kikme420 Once again, nobody is arguing that tae kwon do not working is as absolute as you're making it seem. It works, but it does not work as well as other forms. You're skewing the argument in your favor by not only twisting his words, but changing them completely. He's even demonstrating a tae kwon do kick he feels works well in MMA.
55jacos 2 months ago
@kikme420 My argument for bjj being a better art than others is simply that a large percentage of street fights end up on the ground. What good is tae kwon do after that? For bjj of course the best point is on the ground. Of course there are a number of variables to assume, the point is that some forms offer a higher chance of accomplishing that goal (winning).
55jacos 2 months ago
@55jacos Dude how many street fights have you seen? At that, how many street fights have you seen between professional fighters? How many street fights have you seen between two sober people? Hence why most go to ground. Because most are started by meat heads who end up doing the monkey dance. A martial artist simple avoids fight or gets caught by surprise. There is no other way. No trained fighter is stupid enough to hurt a monkey talking crap. Unless he is like Joe Rogan..lol jk
kikme420 2 months ago
@kikme420 My point is that you're arguing absolute statements when nobody has made them so it seems like your right. But you're not.
55jacos 2 months ago
@55jacos Ya I am pretty sure he has said things like Ving tsun doesn't work. Or tae kwon do isnt effective. And I am saying no he just isn't very effective. The whole idea that a style is better than a style is stupid. A person is better than a person, plain and simple.
kikme420 2 months ago
@55jacos He sees them as different styles that work or don't work. This is a basic egotistical view on martial arts. Knowing a style of martial arts doesn't mean it will work. To think like a warrior you have to think in terms of time space and energy. Everything has its purpose, its knowing when and how to use it. If I do a side kick does that mean its tae kwon do? Or was it me attacking the closest target while trying to maintain range. Tae kwon do works, Joe Rogan doesn't
kikme420 2 months ago
Fucking Joe Rogan. I am in no place to talk shit about Joe Rogan, but come on,who takes this guy seriously anymore. Sounds like a meat head. Tae kwon do or any martial for that matter works. They all work well for the things they are created for. The problem is we don't have enough martial artist who care about martial arts enough to train to use those techniques. Everyone wants to take the easy way out and be like the winners they see on TV. ANY STYLE WILL WORK, its the person that wont.
kikme420 2 months ago
@kikme420 You're an idiot. Joe Rogan is a highly regarded person in the MMA community. His point isn't simply that Tae knwon do doesn't work at all, it's that it isn't as effective as other martial arts. Jiu Jitsu for instance is probably the most effective form of martial arts in a street fight (and one of the most necessary in MMA). BJJ eats tae kwon do any day.
55jacos 2 months ago
@55jacos By the way. BJJ will get you killed in the streets if you have no experience or a fine tuned instinct and awareness level. Here is an example. I stopped a thief in underground Atlanta. I grabbed him by the shirt and had the idea to just hold him there until security cam. The first thing he does is punches me in the face. Instinctively (had been training mma) I hip-tossed the dude to the ground and mounted him. No problems until his buddies punched me in the back of my head.
kikme420 2 months ago
@kikme420 Not everyone can control how a fight goes. It has nothing to do with whether or not the fighter knows what he was doing. Joe Rogan is a tae kwon do black belt and was once a world champion and later realized that it was all useless in the real world or fighting outside of tae kwon do settings. To some level of course all of them work. He's simply saying some work more than others. I'm assuming you're a bit bias towards your martial art but these are well established facts.
