I think the feedback system was poor, I'm not saying the changes they made were ideal, but many sellers were taking advantage of buyers too easily. I myself bought something advertised as "new", when it arrived it was obviously second hand (filthy and badly scratched) when I left negative feedback the seller then left me negative feedback, I fulfilled all of my buyer responsibilites and yet I got a negative feedback rating?

The end result was that I never left negative feedback ever again.

A buyer can bid, say they don't want to pay the shipping, clearly marked, or get the item, say it came broken & send back their old broken thing, & greedbay won't care if the seller has pictures of what he sent, witnesses of sending & receiving. A buyer can send back an empty BOX & with a tracking number greedbay will find for the buyer. (this happened to me)

Livewire, you obviously know nothing about it. Do the math, the fee increases fall between 66 and 67 percent. The Final value fees went from 5.25% to 8.75%. 5.25 / 8.75 is 6. Move the decimal point to get 60% JUST FOR STARTERS! It gets more complex as it goes along.

The unpaid buyer process is broken, it always has been. All a buyer has to do it RESPOND to the reminder that ebay sends. They do not have to actually pay.

Why would you want to leave a negative feedback for a buyer anyway? The unpaid item process takes care of the buyer, feedback is unnecessary.  Only a dishonest seller would do something like that.

Also, how do you figure a 66% fee increase? Did you fail grade 4 math?

Now Ebay Australia has said that in June the only payment methods allowed are by either Paypal or COD. By May all sellers will have to list paypal as a payment option. These changes you mentioned seem only minor compared to this.

These boycotts are made by the Ebay forum boardies. They may be more successful if the boardies were more accepting of others on the boards. They have their own little group of friends there. When someone else they feel is new, tries to ask questions or adds comments, they are ignored!!!!!! That really doesn't help their effort.
