Adidas is a classic brand, that has managed to stay on top for a long time. I was just reading on JuliB about their collaboration with the avant guard Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto. I love that they can do projects reaching out to that sort of style, while still making solid, useable sneakers as well.

This film (as a whole) was a subjective and nike biased, not intended to be, but ended up that way.... It wasnt that great. I'm not a hater but damn some amazing things about other brands like converse and adidas to name a few were completely left out. they make it seem that Nike was bigger than it was in the 80's. AIR FORCE 1'S were NEVER as huge a shoe in the 80's as it is now... I guess the company with the biggest mouth and PR can rewrite history to the way it seems fit...

Yeah, the brands in the 80's were pretty much adidas Originals, Converse, Puma, even a little Le Coq Sportif and definitely Reebok. Nikes were ugly and sorta lame in the 80's, then the 90's with it's craze for running shoes helped them, and the same with the Air Force line. Original Air Forces weren't that appealing.

The only good thing Nike did in the 80's was Air Jordans.
