Maybe it's just me, but the TTC Subway looks as if it's significantly faster (both top speed and acceleration) than the STM Metro in Montreal. Plus, from the last time I rode one, it was also atleast 3X as quiet and as smooth as the rubber-tired cars in Montreal.
It's both care and necessity. The TTC only replaced its buses in 2006... *all* 800 or so, because some had been running for 30+ years. Until the feds and the province fund the TTC properly, the (really well made) H5 and H6 trains will keep running, alongside the newer T1s.

Yeah, the TTC really has great trains, the one in this video is 34 years old, they sure know how to take care of their trains

Wow - Something funky with the doors at the beginning... Plus, near the end the doors open really fast for a TTC vehicle.

Yeah, that what happens when passengers charge the closing doors, and the doors always open fast on the H4 cars...H6's too
