i have played bass for a lot of years but i dont know how to pop and slap. i wish i did. i tried it a few times but just havent gotten the hang of it yet.
that's what i've been hearing, my next amp might be an Acoustic... Anyone curious about it should just visit a local Guitar Center, I know most that I've been to have had them in-store, it's great to try them out. The sound is amazing.

THank you for the positive reinforcement. I actually found a good source on the internet to find out how read them. But, a lot of tabs online aren't exactly accurate and there's still a few things I don't understand. I just try to make the rhythm in the song with the tabs.
Rhythm is the only real fallacy of tab. If you can read sheet music, I would recommend using Guitar Pro. It's not too hard to find a free version and almost everything written for Guitar Pro is quite accurate. Cheers.
It's a good thing you decided to make some lessons. But it would be great if you'd also make lessons on creating some great funky basslines like those you do. I think people will get the technique with time, but making grooves is no ease.
Hi David, beginning bass-player here. One question: The extra muted note you play after the first X in the second loop. It's not in the tabs; Do you play that on the D string? Or isn't that really important as long as you hear a muted note?
hey david please answer... i play the bass myself.. :D and i now tabs but the 'X' i've never seen it? so what is it ? i tried to figure out the hands is it a G# ? well you're awesome anyway thx mate ! :D
Ecoute j'ai fait un cover de Knock Me Down récemment, mais ça reste du gros classique, puis bon tu la joues largement mieux, y a encore du boulot pour moi ! :p
Hey David! I agree with the other guy who was talking about a double thumping video. I can slap well enough, and I really want to get into double thumping. If you get a little free time maybe you could throw down a bass lesson on double thumping.
Hey David. All of your vids are great. I have a question. I am a bassist, and I use a student model squier jazz bass. I want to upgrade, but dont know what I should use. In my band we play indie, grunge, and a little funk. I really want a better bass, but dont know what i should get, and if you can, keep the price range low. please respond, and thanks in advance.
Ah. I'll see if I can scoop the cash up. Haha. My dad says when I can play 20 songs, he might get me an actual fender or gibson. I only know like 12 songs, and have only wrote like 3 with my band. 5 to go. lol. thanks David.
