  • this is when wrestling went on its one way spiral to the sewers!!!!! he looked fuck all like razor ramon and could'nt fight anything like him lol

  • jesus christ jr, shut the fuck up and introduce Razor

  • This is what got me into WWF, I was flipping through the channels and saw JR going nuts. I wasn't a wrestling fan but this got me hooked.

  • KOTR in dayton. We wouldnt have a ppv here again for a while.

  • I can't believe it JR is Dragonborn

  • JR is breaking kayfabe LOL He's exposing McMahon as a owner of the "Federation" to everyone else he was just the announcer or play-by-play commentator on TV

Did anyone knew if Vince was the owner? me...I knew he was the owner going back to 1992 when I was 10. When allegations were made of the sex scandal by Pat Patterson, Terry Garvin & Mel Philliphs. Talk about a public relations nightmare!

I liked JR's ranting it was something that was needed & quickly the angle was dropped.

  • @Keepitgreasy11 Linda Mcmahon is legally the owner

  • Nash always sucked

  • jr did pretty good as a heel but everyone loved him so this didnt last long. jr was that years cm punk

  • I remember this, it was kind of believable until the fake razor stepped out, and went way out the window after he talked on the mic lmao.

  • JR is a beast on the mic!!

  • Sickening how WWE likes to bully & humiliate people with bell's palsy. Why did JR put up with that crap? Karma is going to bite the McHitler family when they all die. Hopefully very soon.

  • The huge "BURIED ALIVE" tombstone seems like an inside joke for this skit.

  • wow... for back then..hell even now.,.. this is friggin EPIC! This was like the CM Punk promo of the old generation :-)

  • At the time this happened hall and nash were not locked into contrats yet with wcw. when wwf did this angle wcw lost it and thought hall and nash went back to wwf. wcw then gave hall and nash an extra like 400000 dolars to sign contracts locked in. nice pay day aint it? lol

  • @bobbymidnight316 WTF?? You don't know what you're talking about. Hall and Nash had signed 3 year contracts with WCW a few months before this happened. This was WWF desperation at it's worst.

  • @sprasher No I do know what im talking about i watched a shoot interview w/ nash and he said they were working on soft deals with wcw nothing locked up yet. the fake diesel and razor act fooled wcw into giving them more money. i think it was on a interview he shot for wwe classic. one of the round table things they did and this one was on the nwo i believe its on youtube actually check it out

  • For this lulz worthy mom

  • Lol @ Heel JR. I remember watching Superstars and being stoked for the returns of Diesel and Razor Ramon and outwalked Kane and this guy. My face dropped, being older, I now look back and see how WWE ribbed me. I applaud them now fo

  • This is when the WWF/WWE was feeling the heat from WCW. This kind of served as the starting point of a change in their product. The point where they knew that kid friendly product would soon meet it's demise and become the second golden age for WWE known as The Attitude Era.

  • @facephoenix Don't kid yourself. They didn't have a plan at all. They can thank Stone Cold Steve Austin for coming up with his character AND re-energizing the company. Without Austin, there would be no WWF/WWE today.

  • @bull864 You do understand that when you run a TV program you have to run ideas by the producers and bookers and get their approval before you can do ANYTHING on air. Austin was ONE of many reasons why they found success. Austin was a major piece of the puzzle but not the sole catalyst. Vince, Shawn, Angle, Rock, Taker, HHH were also the reasons you tuned in. The slowly built a better product as a team. Austin was great but it took the company to see his potential & refine it. It's a business.

  • @facephoenix I agree with some of that, but in 1997 and 1998 Austin was the reason people watched. The Rock, DX, Angle etc. made their mark in 1999. Without Austin, the WWE would have gone belly-up in 1998, maybe even late '97.

  • Isn't this fake chump Razor just Salvatore Sincere?

  • @dennnis2781 No, it was another wrestler named Rick Bogner. He hadn't appeared in the WWF before this gimmick.

  • Things would only get worse for J.R......It'd be awesome to see this JR now instead of passive JR.

  • Heel JR was amazing.

  • thats not Joey Styles

  • One, Jim Ross needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two, whenever Jim Ross is not onscreen, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Jim Ross?" Three...

  • @TheDorkKnight -Jim Ross is a nice guy, period. He likes to eat, talk and sell barbique sauce. Him being a heel, is like some chior boy wearing a Psycho Sid Vicious Holloween Mask for two hours out of his life.

  • WWF>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WWE

  • I remember this when i saw it live!! funny as hell!! JR was a got damn fool for not staying in wcw and should have his ass in tna right now!

  • @rtfuhj crazyyyyy

  • God damn, watching this as an adult I can really appreciate the performance JR is doing in this. Amazing stuff.

  • i didnt know kanyon was the fake razor ramon lol

  • I wonder if JR still has that toga

  • lol @ heel JR

  • Think about it like this.... It was the "birth" of the Mr. McMahon character @ 2:06. And Jim Ross was pretty good as a heel.

  • Jim Ross is a douche bag

  • fuck you retards, the warrior was bigger than hogan ever was, he did MORE for the biz and for the fans and kids in the day, you have no respect therfor stfu you have no place to talk about shit son.

  • Fake Diesel>Real Diesel

  • immah play by play man

  • just like the fake sin cara

  • @MyDavey01 GTFO

  • The fake Diesel was Kane. He couldn't pull it off from the first second cause you could tell it was, at that time, the guy who was playing Dr. Isaac Yankem, which was Glen Jacobs (Kane). He just looked like Isaac Yankem with longer hair.

The guy playing Razor looked a little more like Scott Hall, but still not enough to fool anybody either.

Most fans finally realized the 2 guys had joined wcw, so they switched over if they wanted to see them. This only hurt wwf if anything.

  • I remember flipping over from Nitro for about 10 minutes and then not watching RAW for a year and a half.

  • lol they forgot to say tune into WWF Mania to see what happened after Raw went off the air.. i used to hate when they did that

  • WoW this shows they really couldn't turn jr into a heel

  • @tim23vicious I think JR is to Awesome to even be a Face let alone a Heel.

  • Jim Ross .....(:-0

  • worked shoot. still good.

  • uhh I think this was an actual short shoot from jr because he got serious at first and then he got back into character

  • This is a damn good spot work by Ross. Damn Good lol

  • LMAO at Good ol Jr Tryin to be a bad guy sorry jr just isnt the fit for you we love you too much thumbs up if your dream as akid was to be next Jim Ross

  • who's on commentary in this?

  • @dirkdrew2 Kevin Kelly and Jerry Lawler

  • @dirkdrew2 Kevin Kelly and the King

  • Though it was dropped, this angle was way ahead of its time. You never saw anything like this back in 1996. There were never any angles where someone would criticize the inner workings of the business and bash upper management, so to speak. At the time, you were not sure if this was scripted or not. Angles like this have been copied by WCW and are now a common occurrence. The Fake Razor was absolutely hilarious which makes this angle even better.

  • @smgaydon Actually for months before this, Hogan, Nash, Hall and Bischoff were exposing the inner workings of the business. What the hell do you think the nWo was about? That started in May. This JR thing, which was awful, was in September. WCW was already doing this for 3 months.

  • JR's heel turn was killed when the fake Diesel and Razor couldnt get over with the fans.

  • great promo

  • The reason J.R heel turn didn't success (besides everybody likes him) is that everything he said is absolutely honest and true..

  • who was the fake Razor Ramon?

  • @newyorkgiants11 the fake Razor Ramon was played by 'Big Titan' Rick Bogner

  • @pcmarriotthk it looks like chris kanyon lol

  • quietest explosion in history at 4:25

  • @broadcastingstorms lol, that pop was awesome, I think I heard a guy in the bleachers fart.

  • i think JR is mad

  • Gotta love those huge ass RAW letters

Hell, I'd take those of the Titantron anyday

  • I always thought it was a riot how Savio Vega just runs down and beats him up for a few seconds before the show ends. Seriously, it doesn't get more random than that.

  • old man is the jr of pawning

when i see jr i see old man

  • Damn, he called my home state an "overpriced hellhole." I would be offended if it weren't so true.

  • Heel turn? Or just straight up shoot?

  • Why does he remind me of Jim Cornette, am i the only one that thinks that?

  • @wickedklown14

1st moment i was thinking itz cornette too

  • @wickedklown14 yes he does pmsl

  • @wickedklown14 yes, you are.

  • Jr mentioned dayton. thats where im from.

  • Why!? Why!? would they create such an abomination! Why create a fake Razor Ramone? I know that Vince was probably pissed at Hall jumpn ship, but the only people he's fuckn over by creating this character, is the fans. Fuck the fake Razor, n fuck whoever came up with the idea. They should b ashamed

  • @thuganomics84 it was pretty fucking gay, but they did it to try and recreate Razor because of how popular he was and how much revenue the Razor Ramone character generated, but yeah soooo fucking dumb for them to ever attempt this. They did the same thing with Warrior too before, failed big time

  • @mjwible27 and hogan

  • @mjwible27

yeah but warrior sucked so bad at wrestling that I bet the replacement was better.

  • @RatLegsHenderson He did suck, but the replacement failed, he didn't bring any kind of money or showing like the real Warrior did.

  • @thuganomics84 On the plus side though I recently heard that when the WCW execs heard Razor & Diesel were returning to the WWF they thought Nash & Hall were jumping back, effectively ruining them, so they offered both of them $400,000 each to keep them in WCW. Hall & Nash signed the contrats with a smile, while the execs were feeling like complete morons when "Razor & Diesel" debuted. $800,000 to keep them from doing something they had no intention of doing.

  • @FerretJohn Hahahaha. Another classic move from the good ole WCW management. They really were a bunch of clowns. How they ever stayed on top for 2 years is a mystery. I'm surprised they didnt fuck it up quicker.

Ass Clowns. The lot of em

  • UM.. wHAT'S THE POINT OF THIS PROMO? i DON'T GET IT? WHY THEY DID MAKE JR LOOK SO ANGRY HERE? aND WHAT POINT IS HE TRYING TO PROVE HERE?

i DONT GET IT? AND WHAT'S WITH THE FAKE RAZOR RAMON? SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK IS MCMAHON THINKING? LOL

  • Is that Chris Kanyan?

  • What also sucked about this angle (one of the few times in 1996 I actually flipped to Raw instead of Nitro) that they wound up cutting off the show for time, so they didn't even get to the angle itself. Think of it this way, even if this was a spoof angle they were actually trying to capitalize on what were now WCW's stars to bring in ratings for their show. Think of how far the WWF had fallen that they were now the clear #2 promotion ripping off the #1 promotion for cheap heat.

  • After 15 years, I'm still trying to figure out what the WWF was trying to accomplish here.At the time, there was a known lawsuit WWF brought against WCW for passing Nash/Hall off as still being WWF.A few morons thought they might actually be bringing Hall/Nash back that night. Then they bring these two schlubs out, and never did anythign with them. Were they mocking WCW?Themselves?Ross?Trying to prove they could plug anyone into the gimmick and make it work?Just made WWF seem bush league, 2nd rate

  • Funny as the crowd gives an initial pop when they first see the fake razor, then just dies once they realize its a fake --- then settles into a "man this is some bullshit" reaction all at once.

  • Jr spilled his BBQ sauce

  • The Fake Razor looks like Dane Cook.

  • @LukeCage29 sounds like Dane cook aswell.

  • Why was the crowd reaction so dead when JR called out "Razor Ramon?" I don't think spoilers were around yet back then...

  • @TurgeonFan77132 It's was too obvious from JR, who was trying too hard... Because JR is too much of a good guy, too emotive and people know him too well too easily ;) Just look at it, it is just weird and odd from JR to do it... That's does not work with him.

  • @therrydicule LOL at calling Jim Ross a "good guy". The guy's a well known bastard and toadie backstage.

  • @peterp21 I'm speaking about is "on stage" persona... Keep kayfabe for once ;)

  • I know J.R. is a great commentator, a fan favourite and he has pull backstage (he's one of the main guys who gets things done isn't he?) but does anyone find him slightly threatening? As in there's this whole other ruthless side to him that we've never seen?

  • @intheTea04 The only heat JR generates is in his extra hot BBQ sauce. He will always be only one of the best damn announcers, period.

  • One of the biggest FAILS in pro wrestling history lol

  • Comment removed

  • Damn it! We've been hoodwinked!!

  • wow. they ended their major show cutting off a fight with a mid carder and a replacement for one of their former stars that "went down south" which really made them look pathetic. no wonder wwe was getting killed in the ratings at this time

  • Does anyone know when the fake Diesel showed up and if there is a video on here of it? I'm trying to find his debut. I've only seen fake Razor's debut. :P

  • SAME MONTH 2 PAC WAS SHOT ON 9-7-96

  • I Miss JR....Fuck

  • LOL at the part where he says "the arena explodes"

  • @Flexy319 the bast part is 3s after that: a fake cheer

  • You got to remeber the WWF did this because WCW had a referee Nick Patrick involved in the story line for the NWO so the WWF came up with the announcer bit as well as Vince was proveing he had the rights to the name Razor Ramon and Deisel.

  • no bells palsy is the reason JR talks the way he does now

  • What the hell?! Savio Vega????

  • 2011 Hall of Fame headliner, The Fake Razor Ramon.

  • Wow, I remember this whole bit, but I honestly do not remember that it was actually Jim Ross was the one who did this...and he tried to be heel, lol

  • This was the WWF "New Generation" Era.

  • i miss JR ... and heel version of the king ... PG SUCK

  • i remember seeing the fake diesel and razor. i didn't even know about wcw till i was 12 or so. by the way in canada there was no monday night wars, cause they broadcast nitro on tuesdays.

  • @wrestlingjoey was it still called monday nitro?

  • @JoseDCampa yea it was still called monday nitro, but i didn't check the internet much so it was just as fresh on tuesday as it was on monday.

  • hbk was stinkin up the place as champion during this time

  • @mojo06 Maybe with his attitude backstage, cause I definitely know you're not talker about his matches

  • @mojo06

  • @mojo06 no1 else was helping he carried the company at this time u gotta give him credit it wasnt all his fault ppl like hbk but jus not more than wut the wcw was offering

  • holy crap! I remember watching this as a kid! i was kinda choked when the fakes came out... this was when i thought wwf was awesome...

  • This is the only time I have ever seen JR as a heel

  • I don't know that really did look like him

  • @Filmaker25 - Are you kiddin?!

  • "and hershey park arena explodes" (barely a peep out of the crowd lol)

  • @italstallion06 - LoL! Yeah, right. They know it's BS and that crowd would've REALLY exploded if Scott Hall would've came out.

  • @italstallion06 lol, *cricket* *cricket*

  • @italstallion06 LOL re: Hershey Park. Wasn't like Hershey Park was some mega arena either. WWE was in bad, bad, bad, bad shape at this point. By mid-1997 there were rumors that WWF might not even make payroll. Even though the ATtitude Era was starting, their ratings were still in the absolute toilet. And honestly, if they were being dead serious with this Diesel/Razor angle, and I have a feeling they were totally serious, it showed how 2nd rate to WCW they looked to most fans.

  • the fake guy

  • Fake Jim Ross!!!

  • JR was erious? damn!!!!

  • OH Brother! its "To the bad guy" no at! dumbass

  • There about to do the same thing with the undertaker.

  • JR's Bells Palsy is a new sauce made from the dribble that oozes out of his stroke mouth.

  • say hello to the wrong guy

  • I KNOW JR IS SO EMBARRASSED OF THIS MOMENT..BUT I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT WAS VINCE'S LOGIC BEHIND THIS????? IT HURTS TO LOOK!

  • @SUCKAGOTPLAYED Worked shoot by JR. and i think it was to show hall & nash that they were playing characters. that they were replaceable in those parts. maybe that was the logic behind it all?

  • JR looks like an angry televangelist. XD

  • @KittColby omg so true LOL I just pissed myself

  • @KittColby

    He looks like john hagee.

  • good match

  • he sounds like mr garrison: " its crap!"

  • shut up fat boy

  • That's the problem with JR's heel turns:

Everybody loves him too much and agrees with him when he gets pissed off.

  • @KentuckyKid84 Truth is - JR is one of the best minds in the business.

  • @Tenspeeder Well he should remain behind the scenes then, because with a mic, or in the both, the hick is the most annoying.

  • @Bristow432 suck a dick hater

  • @KentuckyKid84 The problem is the average wrestling fan is stupid.

  • @KentuckyKid84

Not everyone. JR seems like a legit piece of shit, out of character. Watching him speak with his crooked face is really disgusting.

  • this guy is such an fing poser man wtf happened to my hombre razor?

  • i still dont get it! what was the point of turning JR heel for 2 weeks?

  • @AMQ82 I dont think they planned on it being for 2 weeks, I think they realized it just didnt work out.

  • I'd love to see another one of these worked shoots in WWE nowadays.

  • 96-97 was by far the worst wwf years ever

  • *Fake Razor's music hits*

    Crowd: "Yaaaaaaaay-wait, what the shit?"

    *silence*

  • JR did a great job that night.

  • these guys were 10x better than the originals.

  • This was pretty pathetic on the WWF's part.

  • WWF Dies After the Debut of WCW

  • anyone who thought that was hall was retarded

  • 4:39 WAIT A MINUTE, WWWWAAIT 4:43 LMAO. J.R. " HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT WWF". " HOW DO YOU LIKE RAZOR RAMON" LMAO. THE WHOLE PART WHEN FAKE RAZOR COMES OUT IS 2 FUNNY.

  • LMAO ! FROM 5:11 TILL THE END. ''CHICO LOOK AT THE BAD GUY''. AND, WHEN SAVIO VEGA BOUNCES FAKE RAZOR OFF THE ROPES.

  • AYE YO ! VINCE.... BRING BACK FAKE RAZOR.

  • JR says ass, Austin says ass, and so, the ass era begins.

  • That arena is empty. Everyone was too busy watching Nitro

  • @puffykilled2pac LOL! It was when Nitro was at its peak

  • worst storyline of all time.i thought this might have been the beginning of the end for wwf lol

  • Rick Bologna dang he kinda looks like razor ramon but if he wore a make up a lilttle liek famouse people wear and boom u got ramon
