  • He just cant Barrett

  • I love listening to Syd's speaking voice. So soft, sweet & sexy. As lovely as his looks. So sad what became of him. He was talented, beautiful and SEXY.

May you find joy now, in Paradise, you psychedelic soul....restored to your former glory & cuter than ever! Blessed Be, Syd, Blessed Be! May the Lord & Lady bless you!

  • the music was so loud part of the interviewer's hair flew off...

  • Who knew they made a clone out of the DNA of Einstein, Groucho Marx and the Leader from the Incredible Hulk?

  • HANS "Snooty Mustache Guy" KELLER: "But why does it have to be so LOUD?"

Well, why does The 1812 Overture have to be so LOUD?!

It's good that Mr. Moustache isn't a buttkissing sychophant but does he have to be so condescending & snarky?

  • @SpukiTheLoveKitten75 You know you look ridiculous when a pair of those so-called "Damn Dirty Hippies With Their Loud Rock Music" are polite proper, soft-spoken, eloquent gentleman.....And one of them is Roger "Capt. Jerk" Waters of all people.

  • Roger Waters (thinking) at 1:04 - "Say whut?"

  • Roger Waters is such a sexy beast...

  • @sheikofaraby2 You mean Syd Surely o.O Roger was an ugly cunt and ruined the band. He will always remain ugly to me.

  • @Complimentarydust you right.he was so fuckin' ugly....greetings from poland man

  • What a douchebag! Sdaly, too many of the "commentators" still exist.

  • damn they were considered pop music back then

WHY CAN'T WE HAVE POP MUSIC LIKE THIS

  • Happy Birthday Syd we miss you!xoxo

  • 240p we meet again

  • It hardly felt like they were Pink Floyd with out Syd, and they were certainly no longer Floyd with out Roger. But thank you for the hopeless attempts Dave.

  • ahhhhh . only one Syd.... and this interview shows what an intelligent young man he was ... and how very polite..... Watyers is kind of a smart ass.. Syd remains respectful.

  • I hope he is in heaven ...with his young body and face ... and the beautiful soul he had before all the madness

  • @angelitapaolita I agree. In Paradise, we are restored to our prime in perfected form.

  • Syd pwns the interviewer!

  • when syd smiled i thought my heart was somewhere in heaven

  • The funny thing here is that Pink Floyd are masters of silence and atmosphere. Very shallow and closed minded interviewer. Although he could be purposely trying to get them to defend their music and express their inner feelings!

  • Syd should have kicked the interviewer in the face.

    Pink Floyd rule!

  • Syd sounds perfectly sensible here.

  • aww..I want a time machine NOW!

  • Nevermind. I just found out through some research that this interview is from May 14, 1967. So, compare this Syd to Syd from only a few months later on Top of the Pops. Night and day.

  • What month was this? Syd appears to be ALL THERE. This must have been early 1967, because by summer 1967 he was GONE (mentally speaking).

  • That interviewer smells shit with that beak of a nose he has.

  • @mynameisandrew962 he's got nose like penis

  • @jauerbaton89 Haha he smells shit with his nose dick.

  • Borat!

  • @91joelt hahahahahahahahaha

  • syd barret sucks just like john frusciante

  • AHHH Syd was so beautiful!!! And Roger is a new kind of God.

  • Why were only Syd and Roger interviewed??? Nick and Rick are are integral part of Floyd

  • God bless America Syd is so freaking sexy! :D

  • @ocean96113 why america? Syd was English!

  • @lespaulloon I didn't mean it that why. I just always say that, it's a saying. Sorry for the confusion.

  • The interviewer seems like some ass hat psychoanalyst and completely misses the point. Syd is wonderful.

  • I don't think I've ever seen such a crappy interviewer. A completly subjective and stupid interview.

  • What I love about the interviewer is that he gives his honest opinion, unlike people now praising all the shit that they are paid to like

  • I am in love with Roger Waters.

  • bash the interviewer all you want. for me it showed real perspective of what the world thought of such music before they became legends.

  • Wow... all this was was a dickhead insulting the best band on earth....

  • Roger's face at 1:04 says it all.

  • If I was Roger I would of punched that interviewer in the face!

  • Syd era espectacularmente atractivo (L)

  • Comment removed

  • look, that nose has some dude on it

  • I love these men so much... they created such beautiful music and are such amazing people. So well spoken and professional. Damn.

  • this interview is hilarious

  • What a stupid interviewer. They handled it so well though, they're both so beautiful.

  • Good answer Roger!

CAUSE THAT'S THE WAY WE LIKE IT

  • 3:14 God sexy accent! Syd rest in peace, you brilliant, gorgeous human being <3

  • They speak so calmly and wise , very intelligent , i love it!

  • ??? That was not an interviewer, that was a dickhead "having a go" at them because he thinks his opinions impose some kind of authority.

  • That,s right what a cock head!

  • Comment removed

  • "what i'm saying is that if one gets immune to this kind of sound, one may find it difficult to appreciate softer types of sound."

As if rock music is a disease that stops you from appreciating other kinds of music, like classical. The interview is an idiot.

  • Lulz, "Do you, in turn, feel aggressive toward your audience?"

    Roger: "No, not at all."

Fast foward 10 years and a couple million dollars later.

  • @maxpower789z Very intelligent. How things change, huh?

  • @bobdy9988 Indeed.

  • It's these kind of journalists that irritate me. I mean, the point of an interview is not for the interviewer to expresses his/her opinion. Syd and Roger Waters are certainly polite, much more so than the older gentleman. Oh, the irony.

  • What a sweet and lovely chap Syd was. Shame he became a recluse, or mad. But, maybe he was happier. Rest in peace dude.

  • Roger looks the tiniest bit like Jonny Greenwood.

  • Why is it so LOUD???

    It's Little Richards fault.

  • wow i hate how they were considered pop music... like look at the shit we have for pop music and then everything in the 60s/70s that's considered pop is legendary. the fuck happened

  • Considering the history of Pink Floyd it it interesting to hear them seemingly know exactly where they were going musically...

  • Sometimes Syd looks like Billie Joe Armstrong...XD Am I the only one who sees it?

  • @synysterjazmyngates yeah he doesnt look like him at all.

  • @synysterjazmyngates OH MY GOD I KNOW

  • @synysterjazmyngates Don't you dare compare such a peice of shit to such a creative genius ><.

  • @ShineOnCrazyDiamond1 Billie isn't a peice of shit, he's got talent and more talent than Syd did hands down. Green Day has lasted over 20 years and Billies been in the band since the begining, Syd didn't last in Pink Floyd. BTW, I was talking about LOOKS not TALENT so calm down, troll.

  • @synysterjazmyngates Lol the minute Billy Joe Armstrong writes a song nearly as advanced or creative as a song like astronomy domine. You don't need talent to remain in a band for 20 years, sadly Billie Joe Armstrong didn't go insane. I love how if i say anything negative i'm a troll O.O. Just to add he looks nothing like Syd.

  • @synysterjazmyngates Okay, okay. They're both great. They really are. But don't say Billie's better than Syd. It's just not true. Also, it's a tragedy that Syd didn't last, not something to be paraded about. He went crazy off of LSD, which he had a huge problem with.

  • the interviewer looks like Edgar Allen Poe

  • "BECAUSE WE LIKE IT" thats good enough for me

  • syd barret was so dreamy oh my god *_*

  • Damn it, Syd Barrett makes me question my sexuality!!!!

  • @Munther887 then your gay, accept it,i can like an artist without wanting to suck a dick.i love the beatles but i dont want to ream their asses

  • @Munther887 I don't blame you, sir. Young Syd Barrett's ethereal loveliness has that affect on people. Y'know the saying, "Even the guys want him!"

  • Yes, just like debates with the music teacher, we had at school ~ sure the' lads' had been schooled in these sort of debating techniques at school in England, Good method for extracting relevant info ~ not like today where interviewers are merely PR for the people they are interviewing.

  • WOW - listening to these guys talk about what they do in the context of their times, vs the context of what "normal concerts" are like these days - I really wish we had videos of interviews with Beethoven or Liszt or Stravinsky or Chopin.

What would THEY say about "the music of their time"?

    Thanks for uploading this :)

  • Much appreciation to the uploader. Very important and critical sharing right here.

  • 2:06 is the interviewer okay? it's like he's getting VERY angry. Calm down you headFUCK.

  • hard to believe this is 1967...the yr Syd went down hill...as he seems pretty normal here

  • @chromedreamz yea ikr

  • @chromedreamz Downhill? It was Syd's greatest year. The Piper At The Gates of dawn, my lord how brilliant that album is....

  • You're all wrong about the interviewer. He's expressing his opinion, he's actually pretty respectful towards Waters and Barrett, and he does come to the fair conclusion, "Why not?" I'll take him over the sheep-like morons who do nothing but suck the dicks of the celebrities they're shmoozing with. And you know, I think Waters and Barrett like the opportunity to have this kind of genuine dialogue.

  • @TulseLuper i agree with you, I agree with "wouldn't you like to know" below too. The interviewer was listening pretty carefully to their answers. He's a purist, that's all.

  • I think Syd is wonderfully articulate here and really does a very nice job at being calm despite an incredibly rude interviewer. He handles it quite well and his soft spokenness is most evident where he lets the ends of his sentences just fade off. What a beautiful soul.

  • i love roger's face 1:03 when the interviewer is asking them why they play so loud, and syd answers.

rogers is like "bitch wat did u say"

  • i don't know syd and I don't judge him. I like the later Pink Floyd as I think most people do. But fuck it who the fuck cares? live life and be happy.

  • lol at the interviewer...what a cockhead.

  • @ThinCrustPizza67 Too loud lol

  • @ThinCrustPizza67 You mean "dickhead"! And you are absolutely correct!

  • Why does there need to be a verdict? Is their exsitence as a group on trial?

What an idiot! Man the squares back then couldn't handle change. His logic about if you listen to loud music after awhile you won't want to listen to soft music is so stupid. The kids that like Pink Floyd could care less about his opinion. He also said the music is a regression to childhood, what an ass!

  • What a cock.

  • Every time I watch this, Syd makes me melt. I love him so.

  • Comment removed

  • Syd must have been right on the verge of losing it here

  • by the way, I'd love to find out if the interviewer is still alive and, if so, what he thinks of Pink Floyd now, after all these years

  • I loooooove their voices XD

  • What a stupid prick interviewer

  • @maddog7101 most interviewers in mainstream those days were pricks, all the cool types were stuck in old trawlers broadcasting from the sea

  • syds eyes really do look like 2 black holes

  • @seenoevil760

I think this was before the lights went out for Syd. He still seems very much THERE..

  • we dont particularly like that interviewer very much now do we

  • The most polite band in history.

  • Just wait 2 more years, then you have led zepp, now THEY'RE loud

  • @seriousarchaeopteryx and the who was even louder

  • interviewer: "do you feel aggressive towards the audience"

    Roger: "no, not at all"

He wont be saying that around 1979....

  • lol 1:02 roger looks at the camera like, wtf is this guys problem

  • The interviewer has the biggest forehead ever..

  • Actually some of the most interesting interviews of bands emerging from the 60s happened just like this - a crusty, opinionated, and generally unsympathetic interviewer on one side vs the members of an evolving rock band on the other. I would rather watch these older encounters than now when interviewers always seem to be gushing fans throwing out unimaginative , "safe", hackneyed questions (e.g. "so how is the tour going ?"). Why bother with an interview if its all just so much small talk ?

  • The interviewer is such a prick....my repy to him would have been just cos you got a cunt around your mouth doesn't mean you have to act like one, so why don;t you go listen to some beethoven. He can't critisize them by saying it's TOO LOUD? Get with the times [back then 1960's] it was a revolution for music, films & fashion & he was just stuck in the 1940's. PINK FLOYD ARE AMAZING!!

  • reminds me of heroin addicted john frusciante.

  • the interviewer looks like the school teacher of the wall movie

  • you guys have to remember time/place. i was there. it was a different era when electric bands were something new. when these guys arrived there was no digital, barely anything like a PA system, no good bass amps for large halls, etc etc. there are decades of music history before electric bands that don't relate at all to groups like pink floyd. it was so NEW nobody knew what to make of it. even young people.

  • TOO LOUD?! I don't know any string quartet that has the respect and appreciation that Pink floyd has, stupid mustached fuck.

  • 3:50 - Syd's troll face

  • Man I love Roger's voice, both singing and speaking.

And god Syd, it is good to see him still all together in an interview. Pink Floyd man they are so great I love them to death.

  • syd was so beautiful

  • That interviewer is an asshole

  • @twostepRMX Would you rather he sit there and kiss their asses like interviewers nowadays seem to do?

  • moustache man is a fucking cunt

  • Hans, "Have you encountered any hostility?" I would've said , "Yeah... you"

  • "Why is it so terribly loud"

"Well that's the way we like like"

  • poor roger......, always so an ugly fuck

  • this dude giving the interview is a dick.

  • the interviewer is a jew. you can tell.

  • You're a fucking dick. I can tell.

  • @breeeegs dude it was a joke. chill.

  • I am Jewish and you're "jokes" aren't funny to me. Don't tell me I'm being too sensitive, because you wouldn't like it if the shoe were on the other foot. I've known bigots like you and its annoying as hell to put up with people that get a laugh at other's expense

  • @breeeegs well, you kinda are being over sensitive. you wanna know something? im actually jewish. instead of pissing off at everyone about making fun of jews, i laugh and go along with it. its called enjoying life. try it sometime. so once again, dude it was a joke. chill.

  • Maybe getting called kike and fucking jew my whole life has made me a little over sensitive. Also why did you even write that comment in the first place. It wasn't funny, it was just lame and obnoxious

  • @breeeegs its its an insider. you wouldn't understand. and plus i was a bit wasted.

  • @AngieAcidic LMAO way to be proud of being a coward. yeah let me just bend over while the whole world subjects me to discrimination.

  • @ledZeppelin7680 its not that im a coward, i just dont care what people think of me.

  • @AngieAcidic that doesn't mean you should embrace bigotry.

  • @ledZeppelin7680 big deal. im not the only person. and im not embracing anything. i just have a sense of humor, and i dont care what people think of me.

  • lol that interviewer is a bit of a dick.

  • 1:05 "what the fuck is going on"

  • wow, i see this and i just turned fourteen and the interviewer said one true thing, there is old music that is really good like these bands Pink Floyd, but sometimes we push ourselves to the point where there's shit like Katy Perry and black eyed peas...and its only gonna get worser

  • Thumbs up if you are here just to hear Syd Barrett part!

  • My verdict is that Pink Floyd is the greatest and most creative band in history of rock

  • They were both so adorable!

  • Loud? Huh.

Some Pink Floyd songs sound quite soft to me, actually. :U

  • "Regression to childhood."

Let's separate that the interviewer was able to get them to give good answers, but you don't have to be an asshole. Safe to say Pink Floyd won in the end.

  • Has this interviewer EVER heard of Basie, Krupa, Ellington??........

if those guys and countless others had had electric amplifiers we wouldn't be having this conversation. Loud + Live = Fun. Geez.

  • Pop-music? So just what's poppin' then? The skulls of the elite art-mafia? Nick Mason told me: "What we do is art",- he did not say we do pop music.

  • angry face at 2:23 :p

  • I've been a big Pink Floyd fan for quite a while, but I just realized this is the first time I've seen a video of Syd Barrett. Crazy. He was so beautiful with big eyes. He kinda reminds me of a bunny.

  • @LennonMoonPlant "honey love ya honey little honey funny sunny..." bunny?

  • @sprinklesonaplane Bunny. With his big eyes and little nose. I don't know. He just reminds me of a bunny.

  • @LennonMoonPlant I agree. A sweet, soft little bun...or a puddy. Kyoot!

    "Kin I Has Syd Barrett?"

  • @LennonMoonPlant Well, Syd's has always been described as having a weird bounce to his walking.

    He's a bunny-boy! A sweet, soft, beautiful, sensual, sexy bun bun. =3

Syd Barrett consisted of nothing but beautiful, adorable hair & eyes! A Bunny-Tribble-Bishie-Boy-Honey-Bunny-Puddy-Kitty-Cutie......I'm losing it. LOL!

  • RIP sid Barrett

  • Check the eyes of interviewer. Fucking shapeshifter!

  • If I were asking Syd Barrett questions, I wouldn't have been able to keep my thought process! With those beautiful eyes, like in 1:10, wow. My mind would have gone blank! (: Syd was a legend!

  • God it is good to hear a coherent Syd

  • OMG I can't get over the way Syd Barret says "But this isn't so." :):):):)

  • @50sTo90sRockLover And how! *shudders with delight*. The man's speech is like liquid silk! God! He was otherworldly! To borrow a title of a Bjork tune, he's "Venus As A Boy". What a beautiful man. He's was soooo beautiful, like a beautiful young woman! He's was such a cutie! Poor thing needed huggies. :3

  • I just saw Syd Barret and I immediatley smiled... Damn those drugs.

  • Syd seemed so normal... Sad that he sent himself round the bend with drugs....

  • @cantona118 he just saw the truth...and flew from this stupid world! :) no drugs...genius>!

  • Syd looks so young & happy.

  • To the people who don't get it: the interviewer actually had Roger and Syd (both known for their laconic responses) engaged and giving extended responses.

  • Interviewers in the 60's were dicks.

  • Poor poor Syd

  • This could have been one of the most interesting interviews ever if only the interviewer wasn't a total douchenozzle.

  • rest in peace

  • i can`t understrand what that shitty reporter is saying.stupid accent

  • It's nice to see Syd still healthy and not totally loony.

  • The interviewer asked engaging questions yes, but it doesn't require him delve into an analysis as to why the music is loud. It's loud because it sounds better loud and the band likes it loud.

  • syd has such a sweet voice
