u need 2 keep ur knees squeezed 2gether wen u armbar and um...u need to learn to sprawl to avoid take downs(13secs) and at 1:10 u need to make sure ur left leg is kept real close to his body to avoid his recomposing halfguard. and less of his shoulder in ur triangle...just my 2cents worth. im coming to singapore this year. i wanna train for a bit with that willmachado guy. i hear hes trained with marcelo garcia! im from new zealand btw born in singapore.
mmm... actually stand up is very important as well, but you need to know some of the ground game for sure. for example it might be not a smart idea to grapple with a BJJ black belt but you can use your ground knowledge to keep the fight standing up and to your advantage if your striking is better.
Haha my juji-gatame is actually a lot sharper but we were taking it easy in this bout because i nearly broke his arm the last time I had him in juji-gatame. If it was a full competitive and not a friendly it would be a different story ;)
During our NS in my close combat training (especially in the advanced levels), but after that you got to either learn it on your own by freeform rolling or joining a school... there's also a BJJ/MMA school just set up in here recently.
There are actually a few BJJ/MMA gyms in Singapore. Fight G, Will Machado, Contacts Kinetics, Alive Academy, Budo Academy and Combat Academy/Fight Works Asia. Even had a BJJ competition on the 30th March 2008.
I heard there is an MMA and BJJ tournament coming up in 2009. I bet all the gyms will fight against each other! It will be fun to watch Alive Academy, Fight G, Budo Academy, Evolve MMA, Fight Works Asia, and other schools
Looks fun. Somehow I missed this one in my original search. Thanks for posting this one.

looks like you're trying to prove here that fighting is not all about boxing ;)
really like it! real fights are moslty on the ground. the only time it is stand-up is when it's time to run :D hehehe.

lol, and don't cross your feet in an armbar like i did, it's bad technique!

Your armbar is weak. Your friend doesn't seem to feel any pain at all. Gotta improve more on the technique.
