This is really great! I love New Model Army, one of my all time favourite band. Moose had a difficult task: replace the great Staurt Morrow. He did an excelent job. Thank you very much!
I love this song so much, they signed to a big label and were told to write a chart topping song, it was thereabouts... not bad for a bunch of gap toothed crusties. And 25 years on (!) I still love NMA
The best, been a fan of NMA for the last 15 yrs, going again to the 'High' tour this year. They have not lost the intensity in the live gigs, its still a mess unless you stand on the outside.
just read through old comments "the groove" was one of dawn after darks singles, if i remember rightly this gig was on tv at three in the morning and i caught it by chance. Saw nma too many times in the late eighties early nineties, don't suppose anyone knows what happened to trixie? Last i heard he was at bradford uni doing archeology, and there was an urban myth that he was on time team once in a nma tshirt.. back then i was known as husky now its plain old daddy... how times change...
THE BEST BAND IN BETWEEN THE CLASH AND PEARL JAM ! I STILL CRY FOR NOT SEEING THEM WHEN THEY REACHED ATHENS. MY FOLKS LOCKED ME IN AND MY BROTHER WENT ALONE ..F...
Yeah, realised that after I'd already posted the comment- couldn't delete it! Was Nov '89 I first saw them. Best support 'package' I saw them with was Ed Alleyne-johnson and Joolz at Brixton (90,91?)
too young newloversarrival....??? Blimey Charlie, i'm getting old....!
I first saw them in '86 & still feel like a newbie 'cos I missed out on those very early years of Slade the Leveller & bassist Stuart Morrow....now there was a truly great bass player...check him out on those early albums...!!!
1986 crikey! i'm 28, first gig was 98 i think - but see younger people than me at army gigs. testament to a great band that can keep attracting young fans!!
yep - Morrow was a legend, all 3 NMA bass players have been total class.
first saw them in 84 with morrow and justin still called slade they were the bollocks back then ,have a look at them on the "tube" they are at the top of their game lost it a bit for me after no rest /ghost of ..... saw them a month ago though, and they were very good the new album high is there best in a while ,1984 my god so long ago we saw them every bloody where back then, cheers for the memories (dawn r.i.p)
Yes was it was Crazyhead! I remember this video very well as I taped it form the telly 7 watched it repeatedly... My mates were there dancing in the front.... I didnt go but wish I had! Think I was more into crazyhead at the time though!! The Astoria, Reading, 88 or 89?
NMA and The Damned... probably the two best bands ever to have existed, and you were in both. God, am I jealous or what!!??

Wehey, just spotted myself with an awful mulletesque hairdo, dancing like a spaz!
Distinctly remember being really self conscious at that gig because it was so light (for the cameras)
Always enjoyed going to the Town & Country Club; traveling the 100 miles or so, was always an adventure.
Haven't been since the name change, and only get to see NMA once a year now :(
