I think your camera must not be true to life because, honestly, before you put on the foundation, I was thinking to myself what a beautiful complexion you have! If you don't really need a "full coverage" foundation, but suffer from dry skin, maybe an extra emollient cream would help w/the dryness & just a tinted moisturizer to even the skins appearence. Please don't take this the wrong way, it's actually a huge compliment! (",)
omg, thanks so much, really helpful. now i use this method with my dream matte mouse foundation. i have combo skin and on my dry spots the foundation looked so flaky and fake even though i used my mac stippling brush. now it looks so natural and amazing. omg i cant explain how much it helped. thanks a lott!!!!!!!!
I am so glad I came across this video, your channel as a matter a fact. we are so similar in a way because you said that you have dry skin that is very pale and you have natrual redness that you want to be covered up, I have all the same problems with my skin. I literally went out and bought this yesterday because I saw this video!, and it turns out that I really like the product and the method! thank you so much, I cant leave this video and not subscribe!
This TOTALLY worked for me. I was really skeptical because when I started to apply my foundation, although I really liked it I looked like I was really sweaty. But I just kept going and after applying my powder I was like "wow!" cause my skin looks flawless now. I've found my new foundation routine! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Will this foundation give you the flashy/ashy face when photographed? I actually have the same shade 110 Ivory for dry skin as well, haven't tried it yet for night time photography cuz I'm scared it might give me that white washed face. Please let me know =)
@guitarcutie135 if you use a stippling brush with dry skin it exfoliates the skin and makes the dryness flake and become more notiicable. That's the point of being for dry skin.
@xxopenlymindedxx I havent tried photo ready. I do however recommend this for pictures.. just be sure not to wear a high SPF moisturizer which can cause a white cast on your skin in pictures. Ive heard that the photo ready doesn't take good pictures..but I know that the colorstay does. hope this helps
@xxopenlymindedxx i dont find it to be cakey unless you really pack on the layers. without powder i would call the finish satin..not matte and not dewy..just in between
hey this is awesome for me during this time of the year! my skin's sooo dry! thank you very very much! oh and your skin's flawless before you put the foundation on.
Can I just say that this is a GREAT idea and I can't believe I never thought of it!! I've been battling SERIOUS dry skin my whole life and, as going out without foundation is NOT an option, I can't tell you how many times I've applied my makeup only to look worse with it on because all these previously unseen dry patches appear and it's just flaky and disgusting! This is such a simple solution. Thanks so much!
hey i need advice:i use proactiv [it's the only product that clears my acne]but it leaves my skin dried[mainly on my forehead]and i have a few big pores and i get sometimes little pimples on my cheeks.which foundation would you recommend?thanks so much =]
i would say revlon colorstay for dry skin. it sounds like your tzone isnt getting oily so the dry skin formula will be a better option for you.the wet sponge method i think will be the best method for you since a larger area is getting dry. ive got some proactiv but it dries my skin out so badly i cant use it.u may want to use a separate moisturizer than the one they give you.. something like aveeno. liquid foundation will be the best option for you
yeah your drugstore will have them. my store keeps them near the cotton balls. usually you can get a bag of sponges for a couple of dollars depending on what store you go to. most people only use the sponges a couple times and then throw them away but they can be washed if you want to take that route as well. let me know how it works for you
also, i have revlon color stay [combination/oily skin] cause i bought it at the time when i did have oily skin.would it really cause more damage if i keep using it?i also use the rimmel foundation primer[which does moisturizes a bit]
no that is fine to use if you have it already. the damp sponge is going to help in the application anyways. i believe one of the differences between the combination/oily skin and the dry skin is that the combo/oily skin is thicker.. which is harder to spread on dry skin. but it's still worth a try.. should work.. if you find it starts looking caky on the dry spots just use a clean damp sponge without foundation to tap lightly over the caky bits.. that helps to "freshen" it up a bit
@MamiDeBrooklyn as long as your cheeks arent getting greasy, i would use the dry skin formua. however, if you do need a bit more coverage, the oily skin fomula will provide that.
Hey great tutorial. I use L'oreal Trueblend foundation. I've noticed that in a couple areas of my skin the foundation looks flaky. Please relpy to this comment about what you would do to minimize or diminish the flakes. Thanks in advance.
i use a homemade sugar and olive oil scrub to exfoliate with. both ingredients have good skin care properties and dont dry your skin out more like soap based scrubs. i also moisturize with olive oil at night during the colder months.. rub it on the skin, let it set for a min and then pat it with a towel.. thats how ive gotten rid of my flakeyness. when using the scrub, rub gently in circles.. let me know if it works for you
great tip. i didnt know about apple cider vinegar! olive oil is the best eye makeup remover. its the only thing ive found that takes all my lashblast waterproof off. :) have a great holiday!
absolutely, the only thing you would need to do different is to have colorstay for combo/oily skin and make sure you set with a powder. have a great holiday season

You really dont need foundation :) you have amazing skin

instead of a sponge, you should use a stippling brush
you wont lose as much product and its better coverage and an airbrushed finish
