Hi, do you think it's a good idea to buy a Korg K61 to learn to play the piano? In a music shop they advised against it, because of the latency, which according to them can not be overcome.
well i bought this controller to learn (and help me) to understand the concept of melody and chords more then piano playing. Im not sure if this is suitable to learn piano playing since it doesnt have counterweight like a real piano. It depends on your needs.
Latency its not a problem at all; i use it with ASIO4ALL (wich is free) and i have 2ms latency, nothing.
This is awesome playing; Korg should be paying you 'cos you're really selling this thing!
How would you rate this controller in terms of expressivity? I mean, like how reliable is it in terms of playing loudly when you play harder and quieter when you play more softly? You make it sound good, but I don't know, you might be like some grandmaster of the Korg K61 or something...
Thank you for your comments. In fact, i play drums (jazz/blues) more then piano/keyboard; drummers are musicians too!! 8)
The controller has synth action keys; it means that the keys doesn't have counter weight, they are light.
For harder playing its ok; but soft playing requires more control; anyways the controller comes with a configuration software and most of vst instruments can be adjusted.
It has got only midi out put. How can I connect the output to the Amplifier ( then from amplifier to speaker) ? Do I need any separate type of cable ? What kind of cable needed to connect to amplifier(ie I want to play without a computer?
Say if I connect to my laptop will the sound come from laptop speakers ?
Hello there, the midi output will not send sound, its for connecting another midi modules to play with this controller. To obtain sound you must connect this to a synth rack (with a midi cable) and from there to an amp (audio cable) ; or to a computer (for soft synths) and then to an amp (audio cable) . 8)
hey i like your korg k61p how much is it ? i think it's used to connect with usb computer can i also use it without computer or any other things ...?

hello there!
sounds pretty cool :)
korg k61 has aftertouch?
where did you get that piano sound?

Hola, grax! 8)
Saludos!
