Ugh, I get so many a week but only get the migraine pain once in a while since I'm on sandomigran. I hate these so much, mine starts small then gets bigger and turns into a c shape and starts moving to the left. And sometimes my hand looks sooo big or so long
I'm having one right now! When I first got this aura I was soooo scared and I thought I'm gonna blind! But now I am happy because I saw a many eople has got the same problem.I hate aura >.<
I just had this!! But mine are with zig zaggy colours... Coming from the left in a moon shape n gets larger n larger till ill slowly disapears.. Its almost like splashy water with dancing lights in rainbow colours... Getting nocious and dizzy... And after that i get a terrible hugeee headache!!! Cant go into to bright light and loud sounds... Its a weird thing though...
I got this right now and its been around 20-30 minutes I think its just starting to go away. I have noticed this only ever happens when I stay up late and then force my eyes open in the morning. or visa versa - early night but early morning. This has happen around 3-4 times by now. 2-3 of them have been when concentating on the computer - Instead of apearing out of nowhere mine gradually expand in a zigzag. also it it is always on the right side. Also 1/2 the time I experience aftermath headache
@no1griffster Silly that their is only 500 characters.... One of the headache was so bad I almost vomit for the pain (although missing school did help). Yea now the vision stuff is almost gone but the headache is still throbbing. no as bad though. I recommend that you see a doctor because there are about 6 different things with the same symptoms.God i hate headaches -.-
just had this for the first and hopefully last time today. It was almost entirely across my view and just like this depiction. So happy this was the diagnosis and nothing more serious,
This was closest of all the videos on migraine aura to what I get! Mine is always in black and white.... comes in from the top left side.... and never has a "blind patch" in the middle like some other videos show (thank goodness!) I also never get any type of headache, which made it very surprising when I finally figured out that this was related to migraine headache! Pretty annoying, however.
Hi . I'm suffering from this right now and as a designer i would say in the animation above the maker should have used pieces of the image to build the moving arc instead of black and grey. It's like the thing you are looking at is duplicating and multiplying in little sections and drifting over the the image.Still this is the closest i've seen animated.
mine are thinner if that makes sense, and zig zag shaped. they sparkle too. and then my face goes numb and a couple of hours later the headache starts. i got one a couple of hours ago. i took 4 motrin as soon as it started. now my face is numb and my head is starting to hurt over my left eye. i'll be miserable for the next 3 days or so......
I just had it for the first time in my life. At first i got verrryyy scares and i almost threw up. I was afraid that i was gonna see like this the rest of my life. But its over now, i just have a headache now :(
I was getting auras for months before I knew what they finally were. Now every time I get one it allows me to take aspirin and ibuprofen before the onset of the migraine and makes the actual migraine a lot less intense.
Also, my aura looks very similar to this, except it's localized entirely in the top of my left eye. I dunno why, but I find if I focus on it, it starts looking like an old cathedral, or a skyscraper with lots of windows
It's closer than the other simulations. Mine start thinner and on the periphery, then they grow and flash more rapidly as time progresses. They are black and white. I cannot read anything as my central vision is missing. All of this happens in 15 minutes. After my vision returns then the headache beings, that lasts a few hours. I feel pangs of pain all the time now, and there are artifacts in my vision constantly. I have gotten used to it but it makes it hard for me to read.
I hate ocular migraines... Im 12 years old i have life to be wearing me out at the moment not these... I hate them everytime i have one a colourful zigzag aura is in my eye spreading round the periphery... then i have the WORST headache ever imaginable. i just sit down and do nothign watchign TV and try to ignore it... But i never can. All i want is 4 them TO piss off and leave me alone but they wont. If this carrys on i feel like i want to kill myself its so bad i also have aching arm for ever.

This is EXACTLY what it's like for me. I always describe it to my doctor as rippling pools of silvery mercury that somewhat reflect what I should be seeing normally. It's only in my peripheral vision.
just had my first aura tonight. it was very similar to this. i was watching a movie on my pc and it started as a little blind spot just above the focus of my vision. it slowly got bigger until it was stretching from left to right. it got bigger and curled a bit and then over time slowly moved to the lower left of my vision until it was gone. maybe over 30 minutes. it's been a little over an hour now and i just have a headache and a little dizziness if i move to quickly. good video.
I had one just a few days ago... i lost half of the vision in my left eye, started seeing blurry lines and a flashing like a strobe light from the upper left part of my vision... then I got nauseous and started to lost my sense of balance... about 30 minutes after the visual symptoms went away I got pain in my head
This got nothing to do with what I see before migraines. The visual artifact starts by turning things brighter, loose of focus and a pretty little sunspot in the middle of the eye. Then it grows, sometimes the whole eye sight becomes yellow and white with lot of noise coming from the middle.
The only way of knowing what I've got in front is by moving rapidly the eyes and trying to see through the sides of the aura.
Mine start out with the very center of my vision wavy and sparkly, mainly black and white like clear crystals. This moves out to the sides, either on the left or right side in a sickle shape, or both sides, sparkling and glittering it's way towards the outside and gradually completely out of my vision. I may have a mild headache afterwards but usually not, but feel slightly dull mentally for the rest of the day. No nausea, thank God. The whole episode takes about 15 minutes.
Very close depiction of what I see while experiencing scintillating scotoma. Been having these migraines for 40 years. Hardly ever have a headache afterwards. I suspect rainy days and atmospheric depressions are triggers but not sure. I'll go months without any and then get hit with 4 or 5 in one day. I heard it could be hereditary but don't know for sure. I know they are definitely irritating!
That's not what I see when I get them, not even close. Maybe I'm getting some other kind of neurological symptom? I get visual snow and spot and zigzags that are spectral and or white colored.
Had one yesterday at Kmart. My vision gets dull, and then I realize that I can't see really well. That's usually when I realize that I'm going to have an aura. No pain. It usually lasts about 15 minutes. So I went and found somewhere to sit down, close my eyes and wait it out. It turns into a small sickle that has jagged edges that get smaller and bigger. Very colorful. It gradually gets bigger as it moves to the left and eventurally out of my field of vision. Then it's gone.

Having one right now. Only thing different with mine is that it is not just a "c" shape, but an entire circle - and the edges have flashing lights - not just clear. Going to bed now... :-(
This video was very helpful to try to explain to others what I am seeing. I would always explain it as it feels like I see pulsing electricity. Anytime I get the aura I know that soon to follow wil be the migraine which usually is so bad I either need to sleep 4-8 hours or it will get so bad I will vomit.
by far the worse feeling ever. only thing to be thankful for is the aura acts as a warning so I know I need to get home quickly. :-\
THAT'S IT!!!!! That's exactly what I see! Usually lasts for about 20-30 mins with mild nausea, several times in 1 day. I 'm fortunate because i don't have this & the painful migraine at the same time. Always relieved when I see the little sparkle start in the corner of my vision because it means I won't have 3 days of continuous debilitating pain.
I usually tell people to look at a spinning ceiling fan, then slowly move your head so you only see the fan with your peripheral vision. That's the best way to approximate the rotating/cycling motion of the "blobs" I see.
This video is the closest simulation to my experience. Mine appear gray and black, I don't see the vibrant colors like some of the vids on here show.
My aura starts with a disturbance in the centre of my vision, if I'm watching TV or reading the subject matter 'vanishes' from view and I'm only able to see the outer limits of my vision. The disturbance then gradually grows, pretty much EXACTLY as your video show.
It's good to know that I'm not suffering any serious illness, apart from my migraine. When these auras first started I almost convinced myself that I had a tumour! Thanks for the upload x
This are almost exactly like mine. Mine happen at the very edge of my field of vision and creep in slowly until I can barely see anything because it's all fuzzed over. When this happens, I usually start crying because I know that a horrible, day-ending migraine is coming. Vomiting, doesn't go away for 12-24 hours, etc.
Let's just hope I don't get these too often anymore :)
@eb2a415 I know! It's horrible! I had one during an afternoon performance and I still had another performance that evening and I was like "OMFG NOT today..."
I ended up going home right after the first show, drugging myself off my ass, and managed to fall asleep until it was time to go back for the evening performance, and it still had the aftereffect, but it was mostly better.
This is extremely close to what I experience. Mine can start nearly anywhere in my field of vision and move across the eye over a period of about 30-45 minutes. Sometimes it spreads across my vision directly in front of me and I have to stop what I'm doing because I can no longer see until such time it passes. Once it begins going away the pain starts to set in, which is absolutely unbelievable.
I've never seen anything that could even come close to defining what I see until now :)
Thank youso much for putting the effort into this. It has made me feel so much better about the visual problems I get. Min starts inthe cnetre of my visual field and is like shards of brightly coloured broken glass in a bright light. It expands in a line until it occupies the peripheral filed and then disappears. It does not always come with a headache, but often leaves me feeling slightly nauseous. I feel so much sympathy for those who have the crippling headaches too.
Wow this is exactly what it looks like! Mine starts as a little blind spot, then grows from there. Within 5 minutes, if I don't medicate, I will have a KILLER Migraine headache!!
OMG, this is almost exactly what I see. Except the triangles were pulsating with colors. I sometimes get the headaches afterward. For someone that doesn't get seasick or visually wigged out, this did it. Mine was in the right eye on the upper right quadrant in a crescent shape arc.
Is this a possible explanation for UFO sightings possibly?
That is exactly what I had going on in my right eye on the right side of my field of view. Even the triangles pulsed different colors and patterns of colors. Oh joy, a Timothy Leary experience without ever taking street drugs ever.
I get these auras too. They don't pulsate like the video. It's more like a smooth shimmer. It starts out small and gets larger over a period of maybe 30 minutes. It's always to the left of center so I can never look at it directly. It's always black & white with a translucent quality. I do not have any pain at all. I think I have what is called "silent migraine." Do a search at Wikipedia on that name and read an expanded explanation. I hope this helps those of you with this condition.
@thomikaze that is almost identical to what happens to me. I will get the one that sits off the side and I can't get " a good look" at it. I also get a bunch of random clear dots, always have my whole life, makes me wonder if I have had silent migraines since childhood.
damn, same here... Today was the second... (from center (C) really small, and expanding...) The first in the last year... the first happened without headcache, but now, after the aura, i'd headache for 10 minutes... Anyone knows why happening? And what cause? can be fatal? damn... it's not a funny feeling...
yea, this is what it is, I thought it's the problem of my eyes before, and did went to see the optical medi, just do a little research right now, finally discovered that it is actually the migraine aura...nice video, except that it's actually some more serious experience i had than the demo one.
Mine start as a point, then expand outward across my vision. The shimmering effect here is very much what I see, except that mine are usually colorfully prismatic. It is very distracting. makes working or driving virtually impossible for the duration. I'm glad I don't get the headaches.
This video finally allowed e to explain to my family and friends what happes to me when I have one. In my case the "blobs" or "drops" are smaller and cover a larger area (over 60%), making it impossible for me to read, drive a car or do anything else, other than just sitting in a chair and waiting for it to pass.
How did you create this simulation? I would love to make one myself which is more resembling to what I experience.
its like that what i see, i always try to control it and try to push it back with thoughts or so, and of course it works many times. but i just want to know the reason why it starts, it could be stress, food, or anything else.
This is pretty much what I get. I usually get these when I don't excersise regularly, if I stop for a few days then I get it after that workout session. But it's generally in the area of emphasis. This got really fucking annoying when I was at school because I couldn't read what the teacher was saying. And it embarrassed me, I threw up all over the hallway. Is there something to prevent this or execute it?
What I hate most about it is the partial blindness and the blind sports which slowly start to fill with scintillating colors...it's always hard to believe that it will eventually go away...but it always does, that's a good thing to know.
Wow.. This one totally nails it for me. Mine looks just like that except it's smaller and tilted a little bit. I hate the aura. I can usually just deal with the pain but with that little thing in my eye it's hard to concentrate!
it's so hard to explain people...I hate it when I get this in school because noone actually takes me serious. Thanks for the video. Mine looks different...a prolonged blind spotted, then those zigzag lines...but it just totally unhinges me...I always have sensation problems, but they get really weird during this aura-thingy and I feel as if I was going dumb. Strange.
@muchtoocrazy I know what you mean, when I get this nobody seems to understand and it's so hard to explain even if I try really hard.. the only people that do understand are my mother and doctor..
To me the aura is the worst part of migraines. I can normally deal with the pain, but the visual disturbances put me into a full blown panic attack. I have had it so bad that my face in the mirror looks all distorted, along with partial blindness. I also begin to feel really weird, with hyperventilation and pounding heart. I need to learn a way to calm myself down when this happens.
@tduchin If you have something like Ativan that you can take when the aura begins (along with whatever migraine meds) I have found that it really helps.
i only get two or three migraines a year but my auras look like when someone looks into the sun and closes their eyes, that white dot you can see when your eyes are closed, that's what my auras look like. they're like white patches that block out my vision, usually starting at the corners of my eyes and working their way to the center.
Thanks for creating this. I looked at a bunch of these videos on Youtube, and this one looks almost exactly like what I see. I am having these auras but without the headache. It is very strange!
Kind of like mine, altho shape and size can be different (sometimes almost my whole vision). Also mine is flashing alot harder than this one, especially when i move my head.
First time i had it I was panicing cause i couldn't read anymore and thought i was going blind or something xD Also (this happens more often when it's very hot) I'm having troubles with speaking. Like, I know what I want to say but I can't find the (even simple) words.
I see what looks like a light behind a fan.. flashing really fast but only sometimes.. Does anybody else see a bunch of floaty bubbles and blue sparkles all over the place when its dark??
I find that mine start in the centre of my vision and look like the spots you get when somone has flashed a bright light in your eyes. The spot then grows and spreads to the left until the entire left side of my vision is non existant.
Out of interest does anyone else find that migraines impair their speech and ability to construct sentences or remember specific words for things?
My best cure is pills (migraleve or if thats unavailable just Paracetamol) and having a nap in the dark.
The first time I experienced this I was 7. Only today at 32 did I find out they have a name and that others have experienced it also. Thank you for creating and posting this video.
Does anyone find the shape to be a thinner cresent shape? And sometimes there are a few packed neatly together and of course that move and expand out. But the thickness of the cresent doesn't move only its radius. Also it is filled with what looks like TV static in color but not moving as quickly. This lasts about 20 mins, then 10 mins of normality....And then the headache for about 20mins.
I am having an aura right now. Luckily I get migraine aura without headache. I have gotten them since High school and I believe they happen more frequently on hot bright days, usually in the afternoon and after exercise. I believe alcohol and sugar level may also play a part but they can definitly occur without the alcohol.
I think you're right, the humidity was very high yesterday and I was doing fitness. During the migraine(eventhough I felt sick to my stomach) I had this urge to eat something very sweet, so I took some M&Ms along with 1200 mg ibuprofen. I had two aura's in both eyes if you can call it that, I looked in the mirror, I was pale beyond belief and my pupils were the biggest I have ever seen.
Had one yesterday while driving in the glare of sunny, blue-skied desert day, and covered mostly my left visual field, a sideways V shape, & within, shapes like triangles, and interestingly, bits of red in them-- which was not in the sky. I had about 3 more miles to go and although I knew what I was really looking at, it started to become a sort of altered reality experience, and I felt almost like I was going into a dream. It went away after I got to to a dark room. Eyes very tired, no headache
omg my jaw dropped when i saw this. it happened to me for the first time last week and i thought i was having a stroke or something. i went to the hospital and they said i was having "migraine equivalent" they gave me morphine and sure enough, the funny pixelized lines in my vision went away
this is exactly what i see sometimes followed by a headache.. it freaked me the hell out, i thought i was losing my sight. then about 10 min after i got a headache.. i would rate it a 3-4 on a scale of one to ten, ten being the worst
I get these too, several times a year, have since 1983. I must say that at this point they no longer frighten me or disturb me in any way. I remain totally calm throughtout an episode and just do something useful like rake leaves or do the laundry while it passes (usually takes 20-25 minutes total) . The key is just to learn to remain calm, distract yourself with other work. Think of it as a wonderful oppurtunity to engage in emotional self training and control.
yeah this makes me sick too...I hate looking at that! Great job at re creating that! it is very hard to explain to people! That is EXACTLy what it looks like, along with a lot of other horrible side effects, depth perception is off, people's face missing, sickness, sensitivity to light, etc.
You are great for posting this. I have tried to explain this for years. The only thing that works, almost within 5 mins is topomax in capsules, an anti seizure med. Doc says the brain is working overtime before the migraine sets in. I hate this. Always happens at worse times like traffic or job interviews and then I can;t see. Thanks so much..
thats it exactly. plus i get little spinning star shapes all over my field of vision. i'm totally using this to explain my migraine symptoms to people in the future. thanks!
Mine are similar to this, but more of a 'lobster-claw' shape... they're flashing, like sunlight reflecting off waves. It starts out very small & grows bigger, as though the 'C' shape is coming toward me & then passing by.
I agree! I can deal with the pain but, those auras just mess me up. How do you handle the situation when it happens at work? If I can still see to drive I just go home because I'll be out of commission for the next few hours.
I have to say, that I have an attack about once a week now, so I'm kinda learning to not over react when I have one. I stay calm and tell myself that it'll be gone in 25 minutes. That said, I have yet to have one, while in the middle of something important. It's therefore all about staying calm - Easier said than done sometimes eh ?
Attacks happen mostly on a weekend. What's different about weekends ? I only drink on a weekend (wine) and never mid-week.
I get something similar, but more of an effect like you just looked into the sun. LIke a massive bright light takes over a portion of my vision. it's so distracting i cant drive and sometimes cant walk since is do disturbing to my other senses!
Thank you for posting this. It is exactly what I see before a migraine. When I try to explain it to people, they think I'm crazy or just making things up. I'll be sure to refer them here from now on!
Thank you for taking the time to make this clip. I have the same effect (but with more view obscured) and have struggled for years to explain the effect to others, including the deaf ears of doctors. I am very lucky to have no migraine, so I feel a little silly to complain over the purely visual effect.
Many thanks for putting this here for others to see as I too was worried about this condition, I first went to the Dr who told me to have my eyes tested! It was the Optician who told me it was Migraine. I didn't associate the eye condition with the headaches as there is a big lapse between the two things...
I have been having these for years, but mine is like water or waves running down the side of my eyes, two or three days later I will get the headache, thankfully I don't have them too often but I will try this re-hydration and I know sometimes I do suffer low sugar so I will check these things and see if they work for me. To be continued in next message:
Hi! I'm a little confused. I suffer from headaches from 3-4 years of age, (migraine) but i don`t have auras. This morning I was trinking coffee and smoking a cigarette and suddenly I had something like that, in the left side, like bubbles, and then I felt strange. I had no headache , but what else could it be? =/
haaaaayyzzz..... bwusit talga yang migraine almost 4 years na pala akong may migraine kundi pa ko nag search sa google ng mga symptoms ng migraine kahapon di ko malalaman n may migraine ako...
@alliancesucksbawls Yeah, mine do the same thing, starting in the center, then expanding outward in a "C" shape, sometimes to the left and sometimes to the right. I had the headache afterward when I was young, but now all I get is the aura's. Sometimes during an attack, 3 or more auras per day.
Wow. I don't get the auras with my headaches, but I had a migraine yesterday (gone now) and watching this instantly made my eyes/head start to hurt. Maybe it's in my mind, but I just watched someone else's and then this one again and I HAVE to stop before I start getting nauseous!
I HATE migranes. I'm 14 and I had them so often I was miserable. I now take a pill and haven't had them for about a year and a half. If they get often for you, and pop up randomly, definetly see a doctor. Message me if you want the name of the medicine! Great video!
I've had the same thing. Very scary, thought I was having a stroke. After a brain scam MRI and ultrasound, it was diagnosed as an "enchaphalogic migraine" which is a migaine without the headache or nausea. You still need to get it checked out!
I just starting having these episodes and when it first happened, it freaked me out and that started the whole brain scan, etc. process. Mine look like a semicircular moving jagged appearance on the right side of my vision. They are basically transparent, but start smaller and expand and flutter or flash in a shape of transparent triangles that are hooked together in a semi-circular line. I do not experience any pain, and they last a few minutes and then disappear.
this is really quite accurate. I had a migraine aura earlier today and have been trying to find images so my husband understands what it looks like to me. Move the flashing zig zags to the bottom and this is the closest I've seen. Thanks!!
Mine looks like zig zag waving strings of bright red green and blue Christmas lights hanging in a window frame. It starts out on the left goes up and across and into my right field of vision. And right next to the lights my vision looks like you are looking at something underwater with ripples on it. Not a good day...
Ugh, I get so many a week but only get the migraine pain once in a while since I'm on sandomigran. I hate these so much, mine starts small then gets bigger and turns into a c shape and starts moving to the left. And sometimes my hand looks sooo big or so long

There used to be an almost perfect computer simulation of a migraine aura on Youtube, but it was removed for some reason.

This is closest to the type of Scintillating Scotoma I have.
I have about 3-4 a year and they are never followed by a severe headache.
Sometimes there is only a minor headache that seems to go away in minutes.
They start slowly and build up over a period of about 10 minutes.
They never last longer than about 20 minutes.
I relate them to Stress and Bright Lights.
I am 63 yrs old and I had my first one about 6 yrs ago
The first few times it happened it scared me now they just annoy me.

AdamH830 8 months ago
It's closer than the other simulations. Mine start thinner and on the periphery, then they grow and flash more rapidly as time progresses. They are black and white. I cannot read anything as my central vision is missing. All of this happens in 15 minutes. After my vision returns then the headache beings, that lasts a few hours. I feel pangs of pain all the time now, and there are artifacts in my vision constantly. I have gotten used to it but it makes it hard for me to read.
MaxPowers1987 8 months ago
That is spot on. I also get flashing colours

junebug1553 10 months ago
just had my first aura tonight. it was very similar to this. i was watching a movie on my pc and it started as a little blind spot just above the focus of my vision. it slowly got bigger until it was stretching from left to right. it got bigger and curled a bit and then over time slowly moved to the lower left of my vision until it was gone. maybe over 30 minutes. it's been a little over an hour now and i just have a headache and a little dizziness if i move to quickly. good video.

Perfectkk123 11 months ago
When I have migraines, I get a full circle rather than just that moon shape?
MeanxAmeoba 11 months ago
This got nothing to do with what I see before migraines. The visual artifact starts by turning things brighter, loose of focus and a pretty little sunspot in the middle of the eye. Then it grows, sometimes the whole eye sight becomes yellow and white with lot of noise coming from the middle.
The only way of knowing what I've got in front is by moving rapidly the eyes and trying to see through the sides of the aura.
eduyayo 11 months ago
One more thing, I can see it whether my eyes are open or closed. Actually I think I can visualize it better when my eyes are closed.
junebug1553 11 months ago
Mine start out with the very center of my vision wavy and sparkly, mainly black and white like clear crystals. This moves out to the sides, either on the left or right side in a sickle shape, or both sides, sparkling and glittering it's way towards the outside and gradually completely out of my vision. I may have a mild headache afterwards but usually not, but feel slightly dull mentally for the rest of the day. No nausea, thank God. The whole episode takes about 15 minutes.
junebug1553 11 months ago
Very close depiction of what I see while experiencing scintillating scotoma. Been having these migraines for 40 years. Hardly ever have a headache afterwards. I suspect rainy days and atmospheric depressions are triggers but not sure. I'll go months without any and then get hit with 4 or 5 in one day. I heard it could be hereditary but don't know for sure. I know they are definitely irritating!

Whew!

Always relieved when I see the little sparkle start in the corner of my vision because it means I won't have 3 days of continuous debilitating pain.
kerfunk 1 year ago
I usually tell people to look at a spinning ceiling fan, then slowly move your head so you only see the fan with your peripheral vision. That's the best way to approximate the rotating/cycling motion of the "blobs" I see.
This video is the closest simulation to my experience. Mine appear gray and black, I don't see the vibrant colors like some of the vids on here show.

I have a headache, it hurts to type. Glad im not seeing this.
Sorarules21 1 year ago
My aura starts with a disturbance in the centre of my vision, if I'm watching TV or reading the subject matter 'vanishes' from view and I'm only able to see the outer limits of my vision. The disturbance then gradually grows, pretty much EXACTLY as your video show.
It's good to know that I'm not suffering any serious illness, apart from my migraine. When these auras first started I almost convinced myself that I had a tumour! Thanks for the upload x
LisaKee73 1 year ago
I get the aura which starts out small and grows larger until it disapears from my field of view...and thanfully no headaches....
MichaelJJoyce 1 year ago
This are almost exactly like mine. Mine happen at the very edge of my field of vision and creep in slowly until I can barely see anything because it's all fuzzed over. When this happens, I usually start crying because I know that a horrible, day-ending migraine is coming. Vomiting, doesn't go away for 12-24 hours, etc.
Let's just hope I don't get these too often anymore :)
GavinRoskamp 1 year ago
@GavinRoskamp That's exactly how I feel. Once I see the aura, I know that my day is ruined, and I'm in for a world of pain D':
eb2a415 1 year ago
@eb2a415 I know! It's horrible! I had one during an afternoon performance and I still had another performance that evening and I was like "OMFG NOT today..."
I ended up going home right after the first show, drugging myself off my ass, and managed to fall asleep until it was time to go back for the evening performance, and it still had the aftereffect, but it was mostly better.
GavinRoskamp 1 year ago

MoosicandCritters 1 year ago
OMG, this is almost exactly what I see. Except the triangles were pulsating with colors. I sometimes get the headaches afterward. For someone that doesn't get seasick or visually wigged out, this did it. Mine was in the right eye on the upper right quadrant in a crescent shape arc.
Is this a possible explanation for UFO sightings possibly?
mechanator 1 year ago
That is exactly what I had going on in my right eye on the right side of my field of view. Even the triangles pulsed different colors and patterns of colors. Oh joy, a Timothy Leary experience without ever taking street drugs ever.
mechanator 1 year ago
I get these auras too. They don't pulsate like the video. It's more like a smooth shimmer. It starts out small and gets larger over a period of maybe 30 minutes. It's always to the left of center so I can never look at it directly. It's always black & white with a translucent quality. I do not have any pain at all. I think I have what is called "silent migraine." Do a search at Wikipedia on that name and read an expanded explanation. I hope this helps those of you with this condition.
thomikaze 1 year ago
@thomikaze that is almost identical to what happens to me. I will get the one that sits off the side and I can't get " a good look" at it. I also get a bunch of random clear dots, always have my whole life, makes me wonder if I have had silent migraines since childhood.

This video finally allowed e to explain to my family and friends what happes to me when I have one. In my case the "blobs" or "drops" are smaller and cover a larger area (over 60%), making it impossible for me to read, drive a car or do anything else, other than just sitting in a chair and waiting for it to pass.

This is pretty much what I get. I usually get these when I don't excersise regularly, if I stop for a few days then I get it after that workout session. But it's generally in the area of emphasis. Is there something to prevent this or execute it?

What I hate most about it is the partial blindness and the blind sports which slowly start to fill with scintillating colors...it's always hard to believe that it will eventually go away...but it always does, that's a good thing to know.

it's so hard to explain people...I hate it when I get this in school because noone actually takes me serious. Thanks for the video.

Kind of like mine, altho shape and size can be different (sometimes almost my whole vision). Also mine is flashing alot harder than this one, especially when i move my head.

Many thanks for putting this here for others to see as I too was worried about this condition, I first went to the Dr who told me to have my eyes tested! My migraine aura's start in the center of my vision really small, and expand in a circle getting bigger and bigger..

(so, uh, good job there, I guess, lol)

I HATE migranes. I'm 14 and I had them so often I was miserable. I now take a pill and haven't had them for about a year and a half. If they get often for you, and pop up randomly, definetly see a doctor. Message me if you want the name of the medicine! Great video!

I've had the same thing. Very scary, thought I was having a stroke. After a brain scam MRI and ultrasound, it was diagnosed as an "enchaphalogic migraine" which is a migaine without the headache or nausea. You still need to get it checked out!

Yours sounds like mine, starting small and getting bigger and moves left out of my field of vision. Lasts about 20 minutes then the pain starts.

This is great and really close to what mine look like =D Good going!

this is really quite accurate.
