Well, they know how to entertain the kids, the seam to have a lot of fun, they can play their instruments, they have a good taste in music... so what´s the reason I cannot like it... i do agree that gerard's voice isnt GREAT, but its unique and that what makes it a good voice. i think in this and other covers they have done, his voice isnt as good as on the albums and their own songs because he puts so much emotion into their songs but he cant really express that emotion into this particular song, but they did pretty good on desolation row because they oculd identify with it.
plus, compared to all the other covers of song 2 on the internet, this is wonderful! (Except the gorillaz, but that's not exactly a fair comparison considering its the same lead singer)

I'm an English MCR fan and they completley turned my life around so I think theyre the most awesome band on the planet, that's just my opinion though! Awesome cover, I love the original and think this was a really good effort to try and cover it :)

am i the only one who finds it ironic that damon wrote song 2 as a parody of some of the annoying american music of the time and now we've got these annoying american musicians covering it? they didnt completely slaughter it, not a bad cover i guess & i've nothing against my chemical romance. but those saying "omgg dis rocks blur dont rock out like mcr do!" need to watch a live blur performance of this!

no, u arent the only one. I also know the true origin of Song 2. It's funny cuz it was just a joke song to them, but it became a widely known song to the point that if you've never heard of it, you live under a rock.
I like the original, just cuz it's the original. it sounds a little better to me.... and yes, blur does rock out!!

i dont listen to blur that much, but my sister do.. in fact she's a fan of blur.. blur's version is the original.. and mcr's is the cover.. blur is an indie rock band and mcr is a alternative rock band.. one from america, the other from england.. original songs always sounds better than the cover.. big difference here.. i dont fucking care who sings better.. as long as they make good music.. what's wrong listening to band's cover? nothing..

This was one of the songs I knew the text to, but I didn't know the name of it, and never bothered to look it up, but the last time I checked, it wasn't My Chem's song. They still own the place, though.

And Umbrella Academy is awesome, and it won awards and its becoming a movie. Who ever wanted to make it a movie isnt thinking about that Gerard is the lead singer for mcr, he is only thinking that the comic book is awesome, if he just wanted to make a movie of it just because its Gerard from mcr, then he must be a stupid fuck.

that "original dude" has a fucking name. damon albarn. probably the most talented musician of the last 2 decades. founded blur and then he founded gorillaz and made an opera which was very highly critically acclaimed. also set up a brilliant band "the good the band and the queen". went no. 1 with no airplay. has also written 3 soundtracks in classical music. also critically acclaimed. what the fuck has mcr's lead singer ever done except promote suicide for gullible little 14 year old girls

the last album (demon days) from damon albarns SIDE PROJECT "gorillaz" has outsold mcr's WHOLE CAREER. so ye gerary way seems a lot more accomplished. or are u talking about his comic book career. ha. the one that got canceled it was that good haha. mcr have sold approx 7 million albums. albarns SIDE project (which has only 2 albums compared to mcr's 3) has sold 18 million albums. blur have sold 30 million. albarn has sold 50+ million so its a no contect. damon albarn fucking destroys gerard way

i do agree that gerard's voice isnt GREAT, but its unique and that what makes it a good voice. i think in this and other covers they have done, his voice isnt as good as on the albums and their own songs because he puts so much emotion into their songs but he cant really express that emotion into this particular song, but they did pretty good on desolation row because they oculd identify with it.
i want gerard's jacket. its awesome.

for those of you who are saying that Gerard's voice sucks here, I'll admit that he is not a "singer" in the professional sense of the word. His singing is not usually top notch in quality
But its not about that with him. Its about the expression and emotion he puts in his voice. basically, acting the song. That is part of what makes me like MCR. He does it so well, that I don't mind the whole voice quality thing. And I'm the sort of person that squirms every time someone sings a note out of tune

Why can't people just keep their opinion to themselves? Why does everybody has to critic other band only because that band did not made a good cover of a song? I'm a MCR fan and I do not like, for example, The Strokes so I do not watch The Strokes videos and type: "this band sucks!!", I just keep my opinion to myself.
