It's funny how David starts yelling and then goes, "What am I yelling at a television for?", yet when Maria makes comments like guessing the next ingredient will be a chicken, Oscar responds to her.
Caroll Spinney should perhaps have practiced his French accent a bit more before agreeing to speak that long first sentence. There he seems to be simply enunciating words the French way while speaking with an American accent. After that, though, his accent gets a lot better.
One of Oscar's best joke of all time.

Who portrayed the chef? I thought it was Luis, but the expressions REALLY didn't look like Luis. Does anyone know?

Taken from episode 1056, the Season 9 (1977-1978) premiere, which was originally broadcasted on November 28, 1977.

I was 2 years old at the time, I was watching sesame Street at that time, but somehow I don't remember this skit.

This sketch is from 1977. BTW, Oscar repeated his line, "Ding dong! You're wrong!" on "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street" (1978).

@kungfujiapple He's said that lots of other times besides those two. It's one of his signature lines.

I love how they kept saying, "THE CHICKEN!" throughout this skit. :)

I wonder if another Muppet chef...one who (allegedly) hails from Sweden...watches this show.
