@xisumavoid nah i somehow already figured that out but the thing that bugs me is: that i hope that we wont be able to spawn/create slimes out of thin air. that'd be too gay. but if it's some kind of an edit thingy like a special item for the snapshot when you throw it, it spawns a given mob then it's ok

How do you make the dispensor clock? And isn't that for the prerelelease? Because they don't shoot eggs anymore in the prerelease.

If you set up spawning pads for slimes how far away do you have to set up the grinder for it not to affect spawn rates?

@Xisumavoid Slimes actually drop quit a lot exp. A big slime drops 4 xp, a small slime 2 drops and a tiny slime drops 1 xp. So if this happends with big slimes, and they split, you will git like 16 exp from one big slime. So it is worth it ;)

Are you using the superflat worlds for tutorials? I have been having problems with them. Every time I switch to survival so that I can gather exp and enchant something, if I die it will wipe out my world and spawn me in a fresh superflat. Ive lost quite a few designs which is fairly annoying.

Cool design! I liked redeyez' because of the simplicity of the design, but I guess your's reduces the amount of deaths. I guess it just depends on if you need more slime balls or just a steady supply.

@sladikk In 1.1 fence gates update and close when not powered by redstone. So if you can power every fence gate with redstone then you can use fence gates.

So how do we get the slimes in? cos if you want slimes to spawn it needs to be at almost bedrock level so you cant go down..? would you have to make water that goes up then the farm so they go down and die!!! :D

Negative. Reason it works is a change made to slimes when magma cubes were implemented. Prior to those changes, they had a high likelihood of not splitting at all when exposed to lava (this has a lot to do with damage amping up the more lava they touched as well as fire ticks happening simultaneously with lava ticks). So 1.0 and beyond only.
