  • How come your ultraedge is the only one on youtube I can find that is `plastic crap in a tube`while EVERY other video is white polycarbonateÉ

  • ultrasabers kom//aboutus asp on the about us page on ultra sabers they say they back the product against ANY defect, so call them on it and get them to refund or replace it. I hope they aren't above fixing their mistake.

  • @jamethogany I contacted them about it and they ignored me. Eventually, Emory Harris emailed me back with a very rude and unprofessional response and essentially told me it wasn't his problem.

I also recieved a derogatory email from Alex when I emailed them a second time about their policy. I wasn't rude at all in my emails, but all I recieved from them were childish and irresponible emails telling me to blow off.

  • @micahmatt There's no way I'm touching UltraSabers with a ten-foot force pike now.

  • Great job on the review micahmatt! I've had some puzzling wiring issues with quite of few of my Ultrasabers as well...thank goodness for support from the Fx-sabers forum community and TCSS's wiring diagrams, they were lifesavers! :D

  • Great review man. I have had similar issues with they're electronics installs. I had an Oppressor hilt with the US 2.5 "installed", and when I say installed i mean the board wasnt mounted to anything and wrapped in heatshrink. Also had an Overlord with the US 2.5 installed the same way. Im no sabersmith by no means, but I do know thats NOT the way to install a soundboard. I ended up sending my OL to Jango Fett on Fx sabers for a tune up and I sold the Oppressor. Check out my vids.

  • @darthrevan " They don't mean to rush the products, but they sort of have to, due to the high volume of requests and orders."--simple solution : cut back on the orders, or hire (more) staff. They have time for (promo) videos, they can make a better product, or fix defective ones.

  • I enjoyed this review, despite the fact that I'm still satisfied with my saber. Most people who purchase these aren't as dedicate to the electronics as you are, rather just happy that it works. I think another selling point for Ultrasabers is that they make relatively high-quality products at a decently affordable price. While this does sacrifice some quality, it's generally a good deal. But whatever, I suppose if I post too many positive things I'll be bullied off the internet, huh?

  • Quite many have posted bad reviews recently about US.

Your video is great, it's just too bad that these "cultists" as someone here very well put it, are giving you trouble.

    Best of luck to you.

  • One thing that may explain the blade is that ALL lightsaber blades that use a single LED as the light source need some sort of diffusion/ film on the inside to even the glow down the length of the tube. This is the industry standard. The difference between what you should have gotten, and what you DID get is that a properly made blade will be a polycarbonate tube with an evenly cut roll of diffusion film, and a rounded tip with a reflective disc to shine light back down the blade.

  • The blind, fanatic devotion of you pitiful fools still never ceases to amaze me. Yeah, this guy obviously opened up his sabers, and rewired them to look all shitty like that...even denial should have limits.

Death threats, guys? Seriously?! What the fuck is wrong with you people?! I sincerely hope he turns those of you who made those death threats over to the authorities, I know I would.

micahmatt, I can give you the contact info for a wonderful saber smith that made my personal saber. ;)

  • @JediEXile1970 could you give me the contact info? I've been wanting a personal saber and i'd rather not risk getting something of this quality.

  • @MrBREEBAH PM sent. ;)

  • Thanks for an honest review sir. Don't sweat the over zealous ultra sabers followers. That seems to be how that cult functions. Most have absolutely no idea about saber construction at all, yet they know what quality construction is. What a dilemma this must be to some.

  • savatron sabers builds awsome sabers yo

  • Sorry man, some of these stupid comments just really got under my skin. I mean, if ANYBODY knew ANYTHING, they'd know that Emory himself posted pics of HIS GARAGE filled with Ultrsabers lightsabers a few months back when Alex and Emory split and Ultrsabers future was in question. SandDeath24 fails.

  • @Nadgrok I appreciate your comments. Thank you for posting. I've been experiencing the same thing. People just don't see the point I was trying to make. Your comments were well stated :)

  • Also, for someone to sabotage their own saber from Ultrasabers is beyond idiotic to even suggest. Ultrasabers will do everything possible to keep from a full cash refund. You'll pay a restocking fee and be bullied into believing you're only entitled to store credit as refund until you call you card company itself. Returning a BRAND NEW SABER to Ultrasabers IMMEDIATELY deducts a "restocking fee" and thus, you're already out money...for "damaging your own saber." Morons

  • Google Ultrasabers address, and look at the picture of this so called nice sized building. It'll show you a private residence, and if you knew anything, would know there were pictures posted showing a garage full of Ultrasabers lightsabers. You find nothing but glowing crap about them on their forum because they delete and BAN anybody that posts anything negative. Don't believe me? Make a fake account and post a very polite yet negative review, and WATCH HOW FAST YOU ARE BANNED. A+ Review!

  • @Nadgrok You are correct. I have been to their shop MANY times and it is a garage at a house. Where someone would think that they operate out of a large building is beyond me...it just their imagination....just like their sabers being ANY good and their customer service being any good either.

  • Thank you for the review. I was going to buy one but I will probly get a saber from CSS. And I am surprised at how many people think you sabataged your sabers. That's fucking retarded. Who the fuck would do that unless they were a competitor company?

  • later I ordered more "advanced" sabers with sound and all and still no problems... I got heavy grades to support hard dueling and the only diff is that they hurt a bit more when you get hit and they are a little heavier... I havent even noticed much difference in brightness... as for electronics... everything Ive seen was pretty standard and clean... I've done custom wiring and install of car stereos and it all looked simple in comparison... switch... led... batteries... a little extra wire...

  • @Chaos1286 I'm glad you have had good luck with these things. To be honest, Ultrasabers is not a professional company. It's just a couple guys making lightsabers out of their garage. I should have expected flaws, but I didn't expect as many as I saw when my product arrived.

Anyways, I am glad yours are working out for you.

  • Ive bought 4 Ultrasabers... my first 2 were initiate v3... and I used them dueling full hard contact and never had an issue... no crumpled wrap or broken blades... Eventually I broke one of my ultraedges but it was my own fault... (a friend loosened the blade retention screw and I didnt have the wrench to tighten it so I stupidly tried just going with it... the blade flew out of the hilt like a rocket and hit a rock...) even still it was only the tip that broke off...

  • @Chaos1286 Lucky. I'm glad yours worked out for you. Mine broke after a short period of use.

My dueling partner bought the Raven and after dueling with it once, one of the metal claws snapped off. There's no way to fix it.

Ultrasabers makes questionable product. If yours is working out, that's great, but it doesn't change the fact that many of their products are defective.

  • @micahmatt yeah... sorry for your bad experience... its actually nice to hear something negative to break through all of the glowing reviews floating around... Ill take it into consideration and be wary for any future purchases... thanks for the review...

  • Sorry you had some bad luck - a little surprised you busted your blade.

I recently purchased a saber from Ultrasabers and it's flawless so far, I'm really happy with it.

  • And I dislike because I always get good sabers from Ultra Sabers. The Obsidian is fine just as. People stop hating on Ultra Sabers. Both my sabers had perfect wiring jobs.

  • @jedimastergarcia87 I'm not hating on Ultrasabers. I did an honest review of a product. If the product is defective, that is their fault, not mine.

  • @micahmatt As said before both my Ultra Sabers had awesome wiring jobs and have never shorted out even just for being stunt sabers.

  • Er, blue av button I meant. Thought I'd do an arctic Jedi theme for this saber.

  • Nice sabers but neither of my Ultra Sabers has shorted out at all and I've had one for 2 years by now and one for a year and still work like new. I have the Liberator in Consular Green and Dominix V2 LE in Blazing Red both with Mid Grade blades and both the sabers are awesome. Going for a first Obsidian saber hopefully next week and its going to be a Bellicose in Arctic Blue with a red av button, bronze button, black emitter and long groove pommel, and Ultra Edge Heavy Grade blade.

  • Never had a problem and it looks like you tampered with it. I don't consider this review trustworthy.

  • I own 25 Ultra Sabers, have for more than a year, only 3 have ever had problems.

Sorry that stuff happened to you but it's not a scam. They work.

  • Well i'm just comenting on your EMO raging post. It's redicilous. My spelling has nothing to do with the point you were trying to make, and since half of your post is comenting my spelling (lol) you realy should look at it my way. You bought 4 (four) Us sabers, and decided to smack-talk about them. Thats just pathetic. you should have turned to Emorry and Us would gladdly fix this, u dudnt, u decided you should disassamble it, and make a EMO post. Good for you m8.

  • @maslad I DID contact Emory. He did not respond to my emails. I bought more to make an extensive review so that people wouldn't be sucked into the US scam.

Unfortunately, you are talking out of your ass. You have been rude to me and sending me threats in my inbox is a huge mistake. BLOCKED.

  • @micahmatt Bro I've had no problems with Ultrasabers, ever. Emory has always gotten back to me whenever I had problems. What you have to remember, is that they have a high volume of people getting problems with their sabers and they need to deal with them before they can get on with anyone else. So instead of getting pissed off and posting vids like this, keep that in mind. They don't mean to rush the products, but they sort of have to, due to the high volume of requests and orders.

  • @DarthRevan2142 That's no excuse. They NEVER got back to me. And if they have a list of people they are solving problems for - so much so that they aren't able to respond to all the messages, doesn't that show that they have defective product - and MANY of defective products if that many people are complaining? Think about what you said.

My vid was not a pissed off response. It was a calmly made, honest review of the product. Watch it again and see.

  • @micahmatt all i see is a troll filled hate fest. You obviously tampered with both the electronics and the blade. Go to the forum, and you will see how professional they are. As for "Garage" um they have a niced sized building where they work. So really your just being rude to Ultra who worked hard to make this company the way it is. Plus your links are to sites which cost way more than ultrasabers for the same or worse quality. So shut up, honest my butt.

  • @SandDeath24 I tampered with nothing. This is how they shipped. You are the troll.

  • @SandDeath24 You sir, live under a rock of ignorance and know nothing but propaganda, and I thank you for coming to a public venue and revealing it to anybody that cares to look.

  • @DarthRevan2142 waitwaitwait, you say yourself they have "A HIGH VOLUME OF PEOPLE GETTING PROBLEMS WITH THEIR SABERS..." and you don't see the point being made here? THAT"S THE FREAKING POINT! THEIR SABERS SHIP OUT WITH PROBLEMS FROM THE START!!! to quote Napoleon Dynamite...."GOSH!"

  • @maslad I later discovered that the different colors require different voltage.

And what do you mean by "You have twisted your packs". I haven't twisted anything. You are a liar.

Oh and by the way. Wiring is spelled wiring, not wireing. Also, regarding is not spelled reguarding.

I just showed the ultrasabers blades. They suck. Simple as that. There is NO EXCUSE for a blade being that messed up... I proved US has shoddy products. All you can do is comment... hmm...

  • The way I see it, ultraedge blades are not meant for combat, they're meant for show. If you want to duel, you're supposed to get the regular mid-grade blades or the heavygrade blades. I know it wasn't the case until recently, but they now call the heavygrade blades 'heavy dueling blades' to highlight this point.

Your ultraedge does look unacceptably messed up tho, and the wiring in these sabers is terrible, I will agree with you on those!

  • @comandrews

That's true that now they emphasize the combat capability. Unfortunately, they didn't before. In fact Emory himself told me that the ultraedge mid-grade were perfect for dueling, which is why I bought them. Either he hadn't tried them before or he was lying.

  • if you have the obsidion launcher you can fix the clash to were it works more

  • @MrAndstuff Yeah. I have adjusted the values now. It's a little more functional now, but it still hardly works. I did this review of the product fresh out of the box. I wanted to show how the product was "when it first arrived".

  • Thanks for the review. It's good to know what we're getting into. I hope to see something back from US. Thank you, again.

  • Im actually pretty disappointed with ultra sabers at the moment. I recently received an order that was complete crap. They got the blade lengths wrong and the reflector lens for the LED was missing inside of the hilt. And after Emory giving me the run around for a few days, he finally agreed to give me a 40% off coupon for new blades, still, if they were as good with customer service as they claim to be, they should just send me a new order free of charge without any of the bullshit.

  • @jmPlagueis93 i hear ya on that about a year ago i orderd from them and within a week of having the saber it fell apart and when i tryed to contact them they never resonded back

  • @MrAndstuff I had the same experience. Not only did they never get back to me when I contacted them, but they deleted my customer account. I was completely respectful in my email to them and they never got back to me. These guys are bad business. It's best to stay far far away from them... see what I did there?

  • u can change the clash sensitivity if its an obsideon soundboard on the first saber

  • Thank you so much for this review; I was very much enamored with Ultrasabers yesterday... now I'm shuddering at the thought of spending $100 + for just one of these (I have to multiply the price by 7-8 for my country's currency). Should I just dismiss them as an option for an authentic-looking but durable (as in durable enough for fighting) lightsaber? Are there any decent alternatives?

  • @DarthZillasaurus

Ultrasabers are really overpriced, but they do function even though the electronics are a total mess. Ultrasabers are really good for intense combat because the heavy duty blades are very durable. But if you're just going to be doing light sparring, Parks Sabers may be a better alternative. They use the LED system that was used by Hasbro for the Force FX line. Google Parks Sabers. Also check out Vader's Vault and The Custom Saber Shop, which offers the single LED like Ultra's.

  • @DarthZillasaurus The best thing would be to design your own hilt over on The Custom Saber Shop's MHS builder and then install or contract someone to install the electronics for you. The parts are aircraft aluminum and EXTREMELY durable. They also have heavy-grade blades if you wanted that.

  • @SimpiSabers That's true. My cousin used the Raven, which has claws. We were testing it for the first time when my blade struck a claw on the Raven. The claw itself was fine, but the screws that held it in place snapped off and the claw now cannot be put back on the saber. Shoddy. The saber hilts themselves are very durable however.

  • @DarthZillasaurus Listen, Ultrasabers are the cheapest, and best ones out there, This guy is full of Bullcrap. Ok the blades are polycarbonate tubing, some of the strongest plastic out there, they won't break easily. Also the film works great. Ultrasabers are worth it. If you want a random saber, that works perfectly fine, the they have an option for that and it is only 45, plus 15 for a blade, which is normally 30 on it's own. Go with them, ultrasabers rock.

  • I dislike Ultrasabers as much as anyone. Believe it or not, the clear wrap is widely used in most blades and it really does help diffuse the light. However, it has to be done properly in order to have a good effect. That "crumpling" is inexcusable. Also, the Red saber only has 2 batteries because the Red LED's take less voltage to drive....just some FYI :) Thanks for posting!

  • @SimpiSabers Ah very cool. I have yet to see if the heavy duty blades crumple during heavy use, but just by swinging the blade I noticed the wrinkles form briefly but they evened out when the blade's motion stopped. But I know for certain anything under the heavy duty blades will at some point crumple up.

Also, I had no idea the red LED's required less voltage. That's very cool to know :D

  • @micahmatt The crumpling probably has to do with the clear film being the improper length for the blade. Just guessing. I've personally never seen one that was THAT terrible.

Yup, if you hooked up that 4AAA pack to a red LED without the appropriate resistor, the LED would literally POP! Check out my channel if your interested in sabers and stuff ;)

  • Interesting. I subscribed several years ago (probably cause of that GIMP tutorial vid)

I like my Ultrasaber, but I'ma total noob when it comes to wiring, so I can't debate you on that. I did get the normal blade and it works fine. It's great for dueling. I'm sorry that yours didn't come out so good.

Are you going to post this to the forums?

  • @The95thLegion

I won't post it to the forum because I'm not trying to start any fires. I was just giving my honest review of the products I have bought from them. If your wiring is working for you that's awesome. Mine wasn't so great, but I'm glad yours turned out good :).

  • @The95thLegion If he did, I gaurantee you Ultrasabers (Alex or Emory) would make sure via threatening lawsuits that it was removed. They can't do crap here, so hopefully more people with similiar disheartening stories about this company will bring their reviews here where ULTRASABERS CAN"T REPRESS IT.

  • @Nadgrok

I doubt they'd sue. They might remove it, but nyeh, freedom of speech and all that.
