  • @hoperokissa nope, chuck testa

  • makes me think of my war .and brothers lost

  • Is it just me, or does this sound very similar to Barry White's 'love's theme'?

  • I think this version was used for Avro's TopPop; look at their shirts!

  • This was my first couples skate! Good memories! E RIP <3

  • I can't get it out of my head that such a quality promo for this song existed. Shame that it's a shortened version - which can be the only possible reason for the 10 dislikes.

  • 10 people envy Robin Hood, William Tell, Ivanhoe and Lancelot

  • Mik (Violinski) Kaminski was 60 a couple of days ago so quite a bit of ELO was played on the radio. It's hard to think of which of the current crop of bands will still be getting regular air play 35 years from now.

  • classic! thanks for posting.

  • Musical genius does not begin to describe Jeff Lynn and the rest of ELO. Absolutely classic.

  • Se me callo la cedula que le robe a mi papa, JAJAJAJA

  • Mike Edwards (the Cellist player) was killed by a 600kg bale of hay, how sad and unfortunate is that.

  • Why would a pony thread send me here?

  • @Klintoniusmaximus A higher power knew you needed to come here

  • simply the best.ELO are in my head

  • Reminds me of when i was a kid and my dad would put the record player on and tell me stories about every song. i always loved this song! He listened to this when my mom refused to marry him at first lol it meant the world to me when i got older and could understand the feeling. Long story short i just played this song at MY wedding. Wish i couldve been part of a musical generation that even came close!

  • Eldorado, great record

  • I love this song now i really can't get it out of my HEAD

  • I First heared it on cover by Velvet Revolver. I loved it then. But the original version (is this isn't it?)is really cool.

CANT GET THE CHORUS OUT OF MY HEAD!

  • so simple but i love it this way. 2:10 is priceless.

  • Comment removed

  • There are very few artists like Electric Light Orchestra. This band and its music got me through some of the toughest times in my life.

  • i can't get this song out of my head

  • so I plays this one backwards on my turntable and it sez "they will try but they will see that it is useless".. truer words. Jeff Lynee is another of my Godfathers of electronic music.. GENUIS.. ELO 4 ever!

  • A beautiful song, one of their best for sure.

  • @Cheessa i agree

  • You right...

  • lol now i know what endless rain got their piano from

  • what a great band they were

  • Jeff Lnyy is a great singer!!!

  • melody ~ travels ~across time ~ into ~ infinity and back #5lines #inspiration

  • balboaboats comment is top rated but it isn't in the top comments section?

  • I can listen to that chorus over and over and over and over...

  • @bassplyr908 Jeff Lyn holds a record for the number of hit singles he wrote pure genius!

  • LOOK!!!! They are all wearing the same shirts from avro's TOPPOP (dutch music programme) me so like!!! greetings from Holland :)

  • i loved this lp when it came out it was the sound track to my summer in the outter banks of NC

  • I really like this song, but there's just something missing for me. I can't put my finger on it. I just don't feel like it has that special something to make it a truly great song.

  • this song puts me in such a chill mood, love it.

  • They don't make 'em like they used to anymore

  • i'm from belgium...this music means everything to me...i adore it already 30 years...

  • i love it so much but can the bass/ cello end be heard a little more please!

  • gotta love the 70"s

  • I LOVE The Beatles, they're my favourite band, and I've heard that ELO really sounds a lot like The Beatles. I don't really think they do to be honest. Maybe this song a tiny bit? But I don't really hear it.

  • @Marshallsg Hmm, I can see how a little bit. /watch?v=8TLmpL2AzLs may be a better example, I was actually definate that it was the Beatles when I first heared it

  • @Marshallsg I totally agree with you. I've listened to ELO since 1976 and I still don't hear the Beatles in their music.

  • Very, very Lennon-esque track. Straight out of John's "Number 9 Dream" era.

  • @swami1 ELO picked up where the Beatles left off, John Lennon once said. There were close ties between them.

  • need to put on elderado now.

  • Big Music right out of a 2 car garage..

  • Brings back fond memories of me as a kid, listening to my parents' LP records. Right now, I'm listening to the same record, on a modern USB turntable that is. I think Eldorado (of which this song is the second track on the A-side) is one of the greatest albums in progressive rock history and should be listened to in whole, not just this part.

  • This is for Prowler169-be nice huh?...

  • I remember watching these cats perform this(and a few other)hits on Don Kirshner's "Rock Concert".That televised concert was unreal to my friends and I,who just happened to be in a really good mood-do to the cigaretts that we smoked back then.I also have to agree with @ubertek and @rbtu42.For crying out!A young person who Acknoweledges good seventies music? Not just good music in general!I mean ELO!!! And you knock them? You owe that young person an apology-because you're the mature one-right?

  • SPRDPR

  • Unbelieveable harmony. Have you listened?

  • que lima tenian estos jajajaj

  • I heard this song for the first time when I was a teen, and it reminded me of John Lennon´s vocals and harmonies immediately. A wonderfull tribute to the music of the Beatles,' Jeff Lynne simply brilliant !

  • i am with balboaboats........a great classic song

  • jeff reminds me of jack white

  • jeff lynne is one of the most prodigious and talented song writers of the last 40 years. Look up his history and you will see what I mean. . . .

  • @flyboyu777 Or just listen to the song.

  • no doubt 6 people are out of their heads (now we know that at least 6 people are tone deaf)

  • john lennon lives!!!!!!!!

  • 6 people are out of their heads

  • @bubblevision Out of their heads? They are positively certifiable!!!

  • An Age of innocence and unknown betrayal by an Establishment we hadn't truly identified or understood.

We hadn't yet heard of Maj George Racey Jordan or Maj General Smedley Darlington Butler USMC.

We thought we were making a difference.

All the promise of new technologies and scientific advancement to bring a brighter world were stolen from us.

100's of Scientists and Inventors with viable alternatives have perished from the Earth.

Stanley Meyer comes to mind instantly.

    RIP, Mike.

  • This is my ultimate favorite ELO song.

And I can't get it out of my head!

    Literally!! :O

  • Finally Jeff Lynne without sunglasses! He has such beautiful blue eyes.

  • which album was this on?

  • Jeff Lynne......has eyes?!?!?!

  • @PicciProductions Haha yeah he's usually got his sunglasses on

  • My older brother used to listen to this over and over. I loved it when I was 6 years old and I still never, ever get tired of it. This whole album is phenomenal. Jeff Lynne is the most underrated person in rock music.

  • Rest in Peace, Mike! You and the Crew gave us more than we deserved.......

Yeah, it was a different Planet Summer 1975. And a better one by far.

  • bad lipsinking

  • i had this song stuck in my head for a week and a half. i really shouldnt be listening to it just incase. but its worth a risk i guess. haha

  • This will be played at my funeral

  • the main singer reminds me of how i imagened a character in stories my dad told me when i was little. i miss than. what a wonderful song!!!

  • I love ELO, so many memories attached to the songs, this one especially, Beautiful lyrics....

  • elo 1 special band. i had tickets for open air gig at ballymena but didnt go ahead because of our assholes sorry council said no will never forgive those bible bashin twats

  • oh man !

    i love this 70s videos !

they all reminds me of my childhood !

    ELO is pure magic !!

  • I can't get this song out of my head

  • The name Prowler169 say's everything one needs to know about this little turd. He's an inbred redneck who likes his farmyyard-animal friends a liitle too intimately. Perhaps he ain't gotten no edjucashun coz his pappy dun spend all the money on moonshine and hoes. - if he even knows who pappy is.

  • Great, now I can't get this song out of my head :P lolz

  • @ssur55 it may have a Beatle-vibe, but this thing is totally ELO.

  • Jeff Lynne really has the Beatles thing down. He has produced Paul, George, and Ringo and really sounds like John here. Actually, the whole song is Beatle-ish.

  • me hace llorar... porque no te puedo sacar de mi cabeza!

  • On some days, this is my favorite ELO song.

  • I normaly don't type on here unless it's to comment on music but this prowler169 fucker needs a retroactive abortion. What a shithead!!! What a useless asshole!!! It burns me up that we are forced to share a planet with this ignorant little fuck. It should be legal to kill certain people, too bad. A kid just said he was 15 and really liked the music and look what this stupid fuck had to say. He needs to stay home, have no contact with people at all and shut his dicksucker. Assholes everywhere.

  • Prom. 1979. Ohio. Dancing to this song with my first true love. "Can't get it out of my head," to be sure. And don't want to, 32 years later. Peace.

  • OP IS A FAGGOT

  • @sushlet NO U

  • Spank Baby Spank, Enjoy these Cats with their Struments, Mint!

  • Wow, I'm 15 and this is so much better than pretty much EVERYTHING out there today. Music that actually has meaning and isn't just about sex, drugs, partying and other stuff. LOVE IT

  • @cbbreeding97 "Wow I am 3 and I love this song" No one gives a shit about your age you pretentious faggot....

  • Amazing. The like/dislike ratio is 180:1, with 539:3. That means that only about 0,5% of the people pressing like or dislike, disliked it. You hardly ever see that figure going below 1%.

  • Anyone can hear guitar in this song? Great song, but they were at their peak during the Out of the Blue sessions.

  • Electric Light Orchestra combine my two favorite musical genres (rock and classical music) in a way I never thought possible. Jeff Lynne is truly a musical genius. It's a shame here, in my country, I have yet to meet a single person who had listened to or have even actually heard of ELO, except perhaps my 80 year old grandpa.

  • Great song, kinda sounds like it could be a solo Lennon song in a way

  • @jugwinedrunk in a BIG way

  • @jugwinedrunk Lynne's mentor and inspiration.

  • Love this song,Love this band.Music now days just don't compare.

  • Sorry for 1 of the 3 dislikes on this video guys... My mouse slipped when I was going to click like

  • @cbbreeding97 no problem, I already assumed that all 3 dislikes were for the same reason. what other reason could there be?

  • i look at this video...and jeff lynne...he looks like my cousin...billy mcwilliams..who was a great dude and as funny as they come...the lack of glasses for jeff...and the beard full and the longe rhair....i do remember my cousin billly who was as they cool as they come...i loved that guy..he was a dude i looked up to...i miss him tons...love you clown!!

  • EPIC HAIR!

  • Electric Light Orchestra ROCKS!!! I'm 26 years old and they are my favourite band of all time!

  • Officially my favorite song by ELO! My bf introduced me to this song earlier today for the first time hearing it, i thought it was a john lennon song lol. However its a beautiful song. xoxo

  • What a great song!

  • FENOMENALI.......

  • Masterpiece of music!

  • Now I feel like getting stoned!!!

  • one of the most precious songs from the 70´s,,, i was an only child by that time but i can listen to this song a million times an still love ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA,,,,,,,,LOVE ALWAYS,,,,,,,,,,,,JAMIE

  • Jeff's eyes are sooo nice. So blue and beautiful, he should've left his sunglasses off more, although he looks so cool when he wears them :) I'm 19 and I think ELO are amazing. Thanks mum for introducing me to real music. Shame there isn't enough of it these days.

  • @rebecca4bonjovi: great to know that the young folk can appreciate brilliant music! Your mum has done you a great service by introducing you to this masterpiece!

  • @rebecca4bonjovi

You're comment is so great and brings back memories of the seventies and eighties when the favorite music group of my sons and me was ELO. It's not often parents and kids like the same music, but it is wonderful when they do. ~ Janice

  • @rebecca4bonjovi ELO IS amazing - and good on your mom for introducing you to them - carry the torch of good music, girl!!

  • @rebecca4bonjovi

yay!!!! :) same as me :P im 19 and my mum introduced to these lovelies. i love jeff lynne alot.

  • @rebecca4bonjovi

Jeff has wear the shades because of problems with his vision and the bright lights. However, he is so cool and cute withy those baby blues

  • I can listen to this song 1,000 times and hear something new each time. This is my time machine, with headphones on and closed eyes I am transported back to 1975 Dallas, a world so far away from the current one that it's hard to believe they were ever on the same planet. This song altered my life forever and my future, the lyrics are so deep and so soul cutting it's simply so far beyond English to explain. The melody touches something deep inside me that's way, way beyond words to describe.

  • @balboaboats right on dude! that is what great music does. rock on.

  • @balboaboats I do so agree with you. The whole song is understated and yet incredibly powerful. The lyrics are beautiful and the melody can break or mend your heart. It changed my life too in so many ways. ELO are first class musicians and their music never dates. They really do possess a Strange Magic.

  • @balboaboats Top comment, Dude. For me, it's 1975 Birmingham.

  • @balboaboats Yes. I can relate. Sound like I wrote the last part. Thanks Brother

  • @balboaboats

I know exactly what u mean about it being such a different world now and about the song touching something deep inside....I agree with u 100% !!

  • @balboaboats You put it into words better than I could. I have loved this song since my father turned me on to it when I was ten. It is still just as magical and breathtaking to me, to this very day...and it *still* makes me cry...Jeff Lynne had such a beautiful voice too... :)

  • @balboaboats summed this song up exactly as i feel!! thanks.. love it !

  • @balboaboats Well said my friend.

  • @balboaboats listening to this in brasilia, but this song takes me back to my schooldays in a suburb in helsinki, finland in 1978 when I was listening to this in spring mornings before walking to school to see the girl I loved so much at the time. could not know at the the time that this and other ELO songs could stand time so well - and I still have the vinyls left back there!

  • @balboaboats Hey, what are you smoking....

  • god bless you Kelly

  • ELO rules all of the 70s

  • Freaking awesome,man !!!! Another ELO classic!!!!

    Thanks you... Prontent!

  • Are their any Women Here? (in video) *Is the Chello Player a gal? GREAT SONG !

  • @TommyZTrains You say you like the music then you insult the band. Ok.

  • @madcap66laughs NEVER ! "YOU ARE WRONG" !! :-)

** I meant no offense ! "I plea ignorance". (and I'm sorry). I know NOTHING about ELO except I love their music. (I was just curious and didn't know about that "person").

  • @TommyZTrains Don't be sorry! It's just there's a lot of people on youtube that post a lot of hateful comments on stuff they don't like. I see now you were just asking an honest question. So, don't worry about it : )

  • @TommyZTrains ....The long hair of the 70's can throw ya off...isn't it great! Many times I do not even read the comments because of the "few small-minded individuals" that pick apart how the band looks and are totally clueless to the genius of a band such as Jeff Lynn, ELO, and others They could just as well be stone deaf. There...now I vented...here come the daggers. :)

  • @mda6118 Jeff isn't dead

  • i never realized how sharp jeff lynne's nose was
