  • But can it play minecraft?

  • This is 100bc, a clockwork PDA ain't too shabby.

  • play counter strike on that?

  • dumb ass comments

  • Reminds me of the Muslim astronomers,

  • ancient dildo is next

  • Now all the Greeks are just a bunch of two faced asshole what happend?

I Love Greeks and hate them.. wonder generous friendly funny but man fucking look at you what they can get from you or fuck you over in bussiness.

  • @Dorisequador Maybe if your people had gone through so many wars you would understand how Greeks think. However,we are still the No1 country in numbers of scientists and heroes. We are trying to move on despite the challenges we face in many sectors.

  • @redmine7 I still think Greeks are just garbage today.. They have gone from greatness to shit and piss.

Two faced loosers to be exact. The only thing yoiu guy's do great today is Pastry and Pizza and souvlaki other than that Your all fucking useless and dishonessed.

    Very sad actually.

  • @Dorisequador What is your experience on the subject??Have you ever visited?Have you studied Greek history?Do you know ANYTHING about us,or you just guess as a typical internet looser of the 21 century??Either way it is not my job to defend myself from a jealous person. You are inferior to me by origin and that will never change! When we were building Parthenons you were on the trees eating bananas!!hahahaha

    Very true actually.

  • @redmine7 Oh my poor little souvlaki hahaha My ancestors rulled the wolrds but then you being a dumb ass greek you'd probably know nothing.,

Your country still shit's in old fashion century old toilets..

Greeks were great at one time because they wrote their own history and every body knows caught a fish a few inches turns into 2 feet.

SO you went to the cinema and saw Troy now you think your the great in history hahaha

We all know what you are two faced loosers.

  • @Dorisequador We are two faced when dealing with people like you. So,just for the record i would say history is not written by the Greeks but by a world wide mafia.2 feet fish would become 2 km if truth shines. We thieves?haha.Every civilization stole the Greeks on matter of communication, civilization, science, history, myths.Ok,man go have a conflict with someone of your kind, namely someone ignorant on Greek affairs. You are just a proof for me that the world has taken the wrong path.

  • @redmine7 You right we all took the wrong path.

We could have taken a better one I'm sure.

  • thats awsome

  • 2012 duurr.

  • fuck if the greeks were still around that fucker would have ran video games back in 200 AD

  • @DODONGODISLIKESMOKE Hahah now thats funny.. hahahaha good one man Greek invent something hahahaha

  • Can that computer run skyrim ???? Is it over 9000 arrows to the knee????

  • I used to have an old computer like that too, but then it take an arrow to the screen :/.

  • The ancient greeks stole most of their knowledge from Egypt. Hippocrates was NOT the father of medicine, that is Imhotep who was born 1000s of years before Hippocrates. The philosophies, architecture, science, technology, mathematics, from Egypt. The Greeks learned from African scholars.

  • @GozzyWozzy Something is fishy about this device. Where are the prototypes? Where are any other copies or halfway imitations? Just one device found underwater. No archeologists around to confirm it. I'm suspicious.

  • @SystemEquation I think this device shows the alignment of the planets and the sun destroying the world

  • @GozzyWozzy No,that is not true.Everything you mentioned reached top levels in Greece.Actually,it is exactly the opposite,Greeks had started studying astronomy and more even before 10000 bc.Search for the text of Orfeas.(Ορφικά).That history is not told in schools.

  • it can play battlefield but you need to overclock the clock so it can play on highest settings.

  • wait, is this a computer or just a really REALLY fancy clock?

  • no will it microwave

  • Hey! I want to hear their MP3's then!!! Please play it now!!!! Please! Does it have an Apple logo into it? Oh that's definitely not made in China it it lasted this long!!! LoL!!!

  • @badcat72777 just goes to show ya that we should be having the greeks manufacturing shit instead of china

  • But will it blend?

  • CAN IT RUN CRYSIS??

  • Have you overclocked it yet?

  • Comment removed

  • windows 2000 B.C

  • but will it run crysis

  • i wonder why they didn't build a blender back then

very useful and not as complicated

They should have found thousand of them

  • It's an old machine made with the purpose of summoning an ancient evil being to earth after a millenium of imprisonement.

  • but can it support a monitor?

  • anyway this object is mysterious, of course

I would imagine it belonged to an 18th century alchemist

The error they made is about the age. The age of things long inmerged in the sea can't be recognized through carbon. Will someone check scientifically similar cases before saying it's 2000years old?

  • @lotorobly it was founded in an ancient greek ship under the sea . ancient greek ships existed in middle ages or in antiquity?

and something else why someone iin middle ages or in 18century would buillt such a machine ans put ancient greek letters instead of the common language os his age??

  • @aris0978 well, the only meaningful part of the question is if it has actually been found on an ancient greek ship" as u say -i havent heard about that, i suggest u check precisely. as far as i know it has been found alone and brought up by fisherman's webs. The rest is possible as many other peculiar choices and facts belonging to human free will. Couldnt a wealthy 18th century aristocrat interested in alquemy, astronomy and mythology build a machine of his taste? Of course

  • @aris0978 what's interesting anyway is the fact that this machine works on a scientifical regular number of days per year, each one identical -while ancient greeks nor knew how many days have a natural year but aproximately and had consequently different years lenght, to adjust. U see, the whole conception doesnt belong to greek civilization, and no such technology was known at that time -it means they did not have tools to shape the artifact as it is, AND they'd rather built a kitchen blender

  • @lotorobly you re whole idea is false cause it was actually found in an ancient greek ship where they found amongst others ancient greek statues!

and yes the had the technology to built such machines and we can find traces of this until the byzantium! but not only in the european ground but also in china.

  • @aris0978 Antikythera_wreck in wiki search it

  • @aris0978 Antikythera wreck in wiki search it

  • @aris0978 i still dont see it: if they had such tech and tools many other mechanical artifacts would have been found and not only"computers" : u cant believe that u start ur technology building at first a computer! No, dont buy that. Many other such things would have been part of life and found in paintings, like blenders or whatever useful. I know there r legends about Arquimede machines but they was different as told in books and none found. So Id look for a rational explanation

  • @lotoroblyno youwouldnt see in paintings like plenders because this was a special machine that was usefull for aspecific job it was used in voyages with ships to calculate time. it wasnt a machine that was used in every day life but for speciall occasions imagine it as the elite technology of that time it wasntt manufactured in large quantities.

and again it was found in ancient greek ship with ancient statues this isnot aproof foryou that isnot modern invention but ancient?

  • @aris0978 i think it's a mistake of some kind, coincidences happen

different objects of different ages overposed

that machine is nothing of the ancient greeks and to believe that is complete non sense. It is out of his cultural and tecnical environment, it has no links with it, and technology doesnt start with building up a mechanical computer, u need lot of mechanical experiments and studies before, as u need a wide range of tools to work and shape metals with clock precision

  • 354 days was the Greek calendar, the number of days they supposed and based on in those times, check wikipedia.

I can't understand why someone can believe that something that has nothing to do with ancient greek civilization can be ancient greek because it has triangular teeth and some inscriptions in old greek.

  • 2) if they had the precision tools needed to make a thing like this, theywould have produced many other artifacts to a comparable levelof technology or such tools would have been found or documented about

    3) the year made of 365 days is a discovery of recent times, until the 16th century, the so called marian calendar. Greek and romans based on a different number of days per year and had an adjustments after a certain number of their aproximated "years"

    Check this out more precisely

  • @Slyteradon ahaha

  • One man's trash is another man's treasure

  • Will it run Crysis 2?

  • @omg123596 Surely.

  • @omg123596 yep

  • @omg123596 it was from atlantis so perhaps

  • @omg123596 no it runs crysis 3

  • You know what? Fuck it. If everyone's gonna comment about "no its 8 AD" or "that makes it over 4000 years old you piece of shit" then I'm removing my top comment. Someone else can take my spot.

  • It's a computer because it makes calculations (i.e. Moon/Planet positions and Eclipses)

However it is not a computer because it cannot download pornography.

  • It's not a computer, it does not compute. It's a calendar.

  • wow they had dual monitor support since then? why the hell are we only at 8 now?

  • I like this narrator...she doesn't annoy the f**k out of me :D

  • What a knob!!!

  • Where's the fat mointer?

  • it more like the First clock/Calendar

  • This is some form of analogous calendar/clock... it is not a computer.

A computer is a programmable device capable of carrying out logic and arithmetic operations in a sequential manner.

  • @Spoif it takes data as input and gives information as output. its an analog computer.

incidentally, digital computers use iteration and selection as well as sequence. what youve described is a counter, not a computer.

  • @Spoif The device was programmed to display the tracking of planets based on each day of a 19 year calendar as well as eclipses and other astrological information all by turning a dial in one direction. I would say that qualifies as a logical progression of arithmetic operations in a sequential manner. You don't agree?

  • @wuSchu44 no.

  • @Spoif Then, apparently you're retarded.

  • And apparently you are a douche-bag.

  • @Spoif Me pointing out to you how flawed your argument is makes me a douche bag? You said that it isn't a computer because a computer must be programmed to perform logical progression of arithmetic operations in a sequential manner. All I've done was make a point in showing you that this does exactly what you defined a computer to do. And it's powered by manually turning a nob in one direction. I'm thinking the real reason I'm a douche bag is because you don't want to admit you're wrong.

  • @wuSchu44 No, again. Look back... You initially referred to me as a retard because I disagreed with your view. That is the trait of a douche bad I'm afraid. You need to learn to agree to disagree as your view is not always correct in the eyes of others. Whether I'm right or wrong, it's not your duty to convince me otherwise. That said, thanks for putting your argument forward, which I still don't accept, no matter how you word it.

  • @Spoif I'm not here to convince you. I'm laying out facts for you. If you don't want to agree with the facts, that makes you retarded. It has nothing to do with me and everything to do with how naive you are.

  • @wuSchu44 In your opinion... fair enough. And you are a douche-bag.

  • @Spoif Sorry if the truth hurts. I'm only responsible for what I say. Not for what you understand. It's as much as a computer as a wrist watch, digital or face. It actually does more than both. Where watches compute time, this thing computes observable, astrological progressions within time.

  • But will it play Minesweeper?!

  • Kemetians?

  • I guess I could say my clock is a 2011 WINDOWS or MAC computer

A bunch of CRAP ... LoL

  • So are all clocks and calendars considered computers? Or does this just make for exciting journalism......

  • they use to have facebook 2000 years ago

  • @Rulazm at the time it was called Face Mechanism

  • FAKE LOOK IT'S PLASTIC!

  • can it still play porn?

  • well to me the point is that it could be an 18th century clockwork, not ancient as they thought

Why? It is well known that inmerged in sea water objects get contaminated and it's almost impossible to determine their real age. They appear to lot older, of many centuries, possibly because the carbon detect the age of other particles who melted in the material.

And it look all the way as an 18th century artefact. They did not have tools to produce metal workpieces to such degree of precision

  • @lotorobly Them clocks, you dumbass, didn't use triangular teeth on gears, at all!!

  • @GordonFreeMANness hey maybe it's u who have the triangular teeth.. xD

Conect ur brain before saying anything, u stuck in the dumbass thing

COULD SOMEONE DO TRIANGULAR TEETH IN THE 18th CENTURY ANYWAY YES OR NO?

OR TODAY? WHO CARES ABOUT THE SHAPE OF TEETH

THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY KIND OF TOOL FOR SHAPING METALS B.C.

  • @lotorobly you're probably right. Plus pirates always had gay orgys so porn was of the least of their needs.

  • @Slyteradon ohp yes and i loike pirates

-there r plenty of mysteries out there and we r into the big one

First, separate the cheaf from the weed**

  • @lotorobly whats a cheaf?I know what weed is, it's what my sister smokes to heal her testicular cancer.

  • @Slyteradon well, there r real mysteries and fake mysteries

This one to me look like an error of evaluation -and that's a pity

The interest in mechanical works like this, and the development of such technology, tools and tecniques for producing and shaping similar metal artifacts, has simply nothing to do with the ancient greek cuktural universe

Until the middle age smiths worked and molded metals with fire hammers

*well don't name such deseases. Cheaf is the good pàrt of something

  • @lotorobly If I can't eat it, have sex with it, or make money from it, I dont want it

  • @Slyteradon talking like an hollywood star

  • @lotorobly WHO FUCKING TOLD YOU WHAT I WAS?!?!?!

  • @Slyteradon u r getting more and more interesting!

    maybe a computer? ahaha

  • @lotorobly Oh god my balls are shrinking! GET THE TURKEY BASTER

  • @Slyteradon porn included too

  • @E8NOS perfect

  • @Slyteradon 2k years aho was all hardcore porn, you will not survive

  • So where's the Internet?

  • Will it blend?

  • @PenisTweeter Said the guy with "Penis" in his user name.

  • Did he die?

  • pity too many dumb low intellectually unsophisticated people with insufficient amount of curiosity un-capable of understanding extra ordinary discoveries such as this.

  • @moremoney4everybody Can you imagine the mathematicians it took to design this? :O

And I wonder how long this was desired prior to its construction. Necessity truely is the mother of invention. You do not look for something until you need it, and if it doesn't exist you make it. lol

  • @moremoney4everybody can you play porn?

  • and you thought your 1981 mac was old.....

  • can it run mw2 o.o

  • Antikythera Mechanism(Μηχανισμός Αντικυθήρων)

  • This is proof that ancient people were just as intelligent as we are.

  • Comment removed

  • @KnucklesARouge Lol, it runs better and is more complex than Windows 7.

  • @WontBeSaved And it's 100% wood. So much more reliable than the stuff we have now

  • @KnucklesARouge its recreated you idiot!

  • @jkadvices

Learn to take a joke.... idiot.

  • @KnucklesARouge But without the bugs.

  • @KnucklesARouge 2000BC? that would make it over 4000 years old -.-

  • @Rawralion so?

  • @KnucklesARouge "so?" are you 11? next time you want to sound smart and funny, learn your facts. and maby take and grade 5 math class.

  • @Rawralion Retard alert.

  • @Rawralion My comment had NOTHING to do whatsoever about math, so go fuck yourself.

Windows 2000BC does not nessarily mean it was made in 2000BC, it could mean the number 2000 and Before Christ.

  • will it blend that is the question

  • @TheOLproductions12 its 2000 years old of course it blends

  • @E8NOS but does it fit in the blender that is the question

  • Make it play Portal "Still Alive" song.

  • this is awesome.. :)

if you like retro computers then check out my retro computers app for ipad :) (search in iTunes for "retro computers")

  • This is the best computer ever because it cannot crash.

  • @bouchandre I'll bet it can, crash to the ground that is lol, bad joke I know :/

  • Windows 2000 B.C.

Minimum Requirments. 2KG Coconut and Palm Leaf 1M or higher.

  • @SHIBAInuFilms ROFL and LMAO

  • is it from ancient greece ?

  • Microsoft Windows XP 0.000000000000000000001 Beta

  • I bet it was some rich assholes device, who kept all of the properties of it secret.

  • Is this not more like a clock than a computer..?

  • wow

  • where is the screen?

  • i kinda want one. even if i cant use it to play halo and pwn my friends with my gravity hammer. this computer shows how ingenious the greeks were.

  • That is absolutely incredible.

  • @LifeForce013 i might believe you if you could form coherent sentences.

  • Can it run Windows? LOL.

  • Well i guess they didn't need the game crazy birds 2000 years ago... i mean when is a bird crazy when people around you are calling themselves jesus?

  • but will it blend?

  • Hl2?

  • Can it play pokemon?

  • can it run crysis?

  • Not really a computer, more of a sophisticated calendar. Still very impressive.

  • That's a 2000-year-old computer? Come on, it's not even equipped with a microprocessor.

  • The creators of this device (over 2000 years ago)were so much more advanced than all the people writting these comments today put together.. p.s. Take the jelly out of your hair , its effecting your brains...

  • Co za asy

  • But.. Will it blend?

  • Can it play Mario?

  • and... it doesn't seem that important

  • People were doing something productive while Jesus was going around faking miracles....

  • @batistaker123 LOL! GOOD one!

  • Does it run sc 2?

  • TRHIS IS A GREEK MONUMENT THE ENGLISH STOLE IT WAS MADE BU ANCIENT GREEKS!! THIS PROVES HOW SMART ANCIENT GREEKS WERE COMPARED TO NOWDAYS STUPID FUCKS!! AND I AM GREEK

  • @jimakosgian26 Of course it's Greek the English weren't doing shit during this time period and the Middle East was too busy making up stories about Jesus.... The Greek influenced the Middle East, The Middle East influenced Europe and Europe influenced the rest. Greek thinkers essentially started the entire intellectual movement!

  • @batistaker123 not really, the west asian states like sumer and persia were older, and britain knew alot of advanced shit along with the other west european celtic and gaelic people. And zulus, and other africans.

in fact i reckon mathematic logic and magic, thought and art became very advanced aalmost as soon as humans became humans i.e. 500,000yrs ago.

because all you need is to be free to think for a bit without threat of predators etc.

  • @natmanprime What kinds of inventions did these other cultures have? I know of the Sumerian and Persian mathematics and alphabet but did they simply influence mathematics or did they directly invent things? I have heard of the battery from ancient Iraq.

  • @batistaker123 I don't know about that, i was just responding to your point about the "intellectual movement". intellectual=numbers, language etc.

I think humans are by nature intellectuals unless suppresed by environment. In fact it's what makes human human.

"the unexamined life is no life for the Human"

yes, i know a greek said that btw

u could obviously educate me regadring the battery...

  • @jimakosgian26 pes ta ! eleos tpt den tous allazei ta xaza muala tous!!!

  • I wonder it can run Crysis ?

  • Cool that he remade it but seriously he needs to get laid

  • Where's Lara Croft?

  • The Greeks really were ahead of their time. Props to the guy who recreated it!

  • @PoisonYoshi every age has it geniouses ,some cultures allow them to flurish- some not, in some to be a genius was a plus in other a minus since he drained the resorses thus culled away to priesthood or other wierd religious men- and to make it worse - powerful men like stability thus cant cant come here and say otehrwise - thus all einsteins in greek was forced to make stuff like these not really but -didnt you have power or name you did this.

  • this is shit enough to run windows vista...

  • thats not a computer lol

  • But, Will It Blend?

  • How about telling us how you feel about all of that since you made it

  • in which way is this a computer??????? Sounds like oldfag troll

  • @smogman666 The first use of the word "computer" was recorded in 1613, referring to a person who carried out calculations, or computations, and the word continued with the same meaning until the middle of the 20th century. From the end of the 19th century onwards, the word began to take on its more familiar meaning, describing a machine that carries out computations

  • @jurassicpark4ever its still not a computer. Its a clock not more
