umm..and the reason technology and the way of living itself was backwards for the people in tibet for a long time was because it isolated itself for a long period of time from the 1800s to mid 1900s by the government.-in fear of british invasion from south and russian invasion from the north side. wasn't entirely true, but the leader of tibet at that time thought so and therefore isolated itself from much of the world.

its funny you're saying tibetan buddhism doesn't teach impermanence. traditionally, in monastries, monks make mandalas that are absolutely gorgeous. it takes many days and very careful and meticulous work to make one, and in the end, there is a ceremony where the mandala is destroyed. This is done to simbolize impermanence and that some so beautiful and some thing that has take so much hard work to make can vanish any second.

wow i guess you don't know much about the tibetan society at all. yeah it is very much immersed in rituals, legends and ceremonies, which is a bit different than how other cultures follow buddhism and thats why it is tibetan buddhism. but we the core values of a tibetan person are buddhist in nature. the monks and nuns in monasteries in tibet, study buddhism, the texts, they interpret it and debate it to understand it.
