The biggest problem I have with In With The Out Crowd is that it seemed like a knock off of Anthem which noticeably didn't have as many horn parts either. But Anthem was such a great record because it sounded like LTJ but with a mature tone. In With The Out Crowd isn't bad but it doesn't reach the bar set by their previous albums.
In With The Out Crowd was the follow up album the no one expected. I'm not bashing it cause I happen to think it's a good album. It's one of those St. Anger albums

Why do people knock In With the Out Crowd so much? There are still some tracks with horns (Still Life, Shock the World, Mostly Memories, Subway) and I think some of their best lyrical works. I think most people just listened to Overrated and Rest of My Life and decided LTJ was dead. GNV FLA disproved that.

@EdgeryWorthy They're my favorite band, but this is the only album I won't sit down and listen to all the way through. There are some good songs, but overall, it's just very polished pop-punk sounding. And I love the rawer LTJ sound. But I also know that it was not at all their fault at all, so I don't hold it against them.

LTJ have just not emphasised as much on the brass side of Ska anymore. I prefer there earlier stuff but i still love all there music. Saw them live the day before the release of "Borders and Boundries" in the uk and was the best Gig i have ever been to. Such an atmosphere and enerjy into there music and performance. Love these guys!
I think a lot of it had to do with Warner Brothers. Their new album (which is NOT on WB) came out and it has a combination of sound from their old and the sound from their newer albums. It does sound different, but it does sound like they're mixing it a bit now with much more ska sound.

I 100% agree with Overrated21. I could go to one of their shows every night and never get bored. I've seen them live 3 times and they are ALWAYS amazing. Especially on the Shout It Loud Tour. It was awesome. :-)

hey this is a good song bands do change and they been around 12 years and this will show that they will be around another 20 years it is a good song this will bring them to more crowds then they can turn them into ska lovers by tricking them into bying the other songs if the pepole think the rest of there songs sound like this.

SKA RULES!!!!!! I'm still living in the past i guess. Less Than Jake was one of the most dominant ska bands in their time and now they have changed to this. I still like the songs a lot, but I miss the old LTJ

wow, can we blow this anymore out of proportion? first off, i'm not your mate. yes, people do put music into ridgid categories, deal with it. if you were to play LTJ for most any skin and call it ska, you're gonna be laughed at. period. as for calling it skunk, chris demakes himself used that expression once.

Wow, all of you guys complaining about an image change really need to pull your heads out of your asses- they aren't sell outs, they're evolving like all great artists have to, to keep their careers alive. The music is still great!
People seem to forget that this is their JOB. They pour their lives into making music, it's completely unfair to call them names for attempting to reach another medium of listeners. jeez.

but in there defense they dont pretend to really be punk like some others bands (cought cought sum 41) and they are fun guys live i mean to many bands forget you dont just go to a show to listen to the music its the whole experince
so in genral for pop ska they get my thumbs up

just because YOU'VE seen them 20 times doesn't give you any more right to judge them than I do. I've seen them live, too, and their live show is awesome (most of the time), but their studio albums have sucked for the past 5 years

I 100% agree with Overrated21. I could go to one of their shows every night and never get bored. I've seen them live 3 times and they are ALWAYS amazing. Especially on the Shout It Loud Tour. It was awesome. :-)
