Like the set up! Good close ups, maybe a bit brighter for color saturation of labels. You do a great job. loved the 70s music! 55 here. Boomer or Bust!
Throwin the 45 on the turntable/record player then the BELOVED needle scratch from the start...
Good stuff...
Good memories droppin the new Albums there then the needle and waiting for the start around a couple secs..
If they skip you couldnt afford new needles then you weigh them down with pennies then keep adding them over and over and the record is FUCKED...hahahah
also a 4:05 version on 45(which i got) that has "Side B" on the label.found it in 2010.also i got the short(without the long ins. intro)version'which i found in 1983.if anyone has the original mgm version of it hold on to it. it's hard to find and never went beyond promo copies
This is the way I like my music. Vinyl with the cue burn at the front. Love the hiss when needle first contacts vinyl. Thanks Dude. The ONLY way to listen to this tune. Love the intro of the 45 itself.
Tesla's version was better; They even did a video for this tune. Wonder why the five Man Electrical Band didn't do a video in 1971 for this tune. Oh well...
@capitolemiproducer Yes, there is a true stereo version. I have it on a mutli cd set called 'Oh what a Feeling" . It's a compilation of songs by Canadian artists, and this is one of them. It had the full intro, same as the single version. ... It's one of my favourites too :)
@capitolemiproducer Actually, The LP stereo version is narrow stereo. There's no wide stereo version I've ever known. I tried to widen it with my software program & does no good. All it appears to be is an echo added to the guitar on the LP version. I doubt anything other than that exists.
I have seen copies of this single and the only way to tell if it is the short intro or long intro is to play it there is no difference in the matrix # I have checked also some of the ones I have seen were pressed off center some have A-side on label and some don't probably depended on which pressing plant it came from
@knoxunflower1 I've got the exact same turntable sitting out in my garage, along with a whole sh** load of old albums.Anyone out there know if the old "Woodstock" albums are worth anything these days? I've got the old double record set...it has some kind of gold-seal ion the front of the album, and the record(s) is in pristine condition. What about Bob Dylan? My hubby came North with a box full of old 33 rpm records, back in the early 70's.
Most likely true, however, I just heard of an easier way - The short version says "Side A" on the label, where the long version does not say "Side A". I have the short version, and this is confirmed true.
@WABCRADIO77 Is this supposed to be the short version that you have, or do you have a different copy that's the short version in addition to this one? You showed us about 75% of the label, and I didn't see "Side A" in that portion. The introduction here seems fairly long. Is there an even longer one? And if so, and if this is the short version, does "Side A" appear on the segment of the label (the left side) that you didn't show us?
From memory, even though I don't a copy, the Australian release of this on MGM had the long intro - I do have an aircheck of 5KA from 1972 where the version they play is the long intro, which fades out as it is and the end of this aircheck.
I can confirm the long intro on the Aussie 45 copy... Also, an aborted version of this great track appeared on a local Ktel LP whereby it was edited down to an appalling , just over, 2 min version, no bridge, no intro, just that famous Ktel chop-chop-chop !
Oldie but goodie.

@0010Kev you are so lucky, I am a total stereo buff and I go as far as remixing tracks into true stereo from multi-sources. Check out my videos

Faithful Technics user here (for about 30 years). Had one very similar to that one. I see the word "Quartz" on there. It's direct drive, I take it?
Either way, nice one!

I heard this on the radio occasionally until a year or so ago and, at least where I am, they always played the short intro.

The lionel ones which have the a and b side written on the label, the signs song seems to be on the B-side

They had two label variations of this single. The one i have is on polydor and is in MONO

I assume a matrix number difference could "tell which version I have".

This is the long version with the long instrumental intro.
The label does NOT say "Side A" on it.
I do have the short version, and on that version it says "Side A" on the label.
That seems to be the easiest way to determine which version you have by simply looking at the label.
