@angelothekiller By giving himself the book, he was no longer the Biff he was in 2015, so he was erased. The reason is his new 2015 self would now be rich, corrupt, powerful and married to Marty's mother, instead of being the basic image of an old man. Unless one arrived via time machine, there could not exist two Biffs simultaneously, which is why he disappeared from the old 2015, but not 1955. When the book was destroyed, the same thing happened to his new 2015 self: Erased and replaced.

According to the directors comments they said in the alternate 1985 Lorraine would end up killing Biff therefore old Biff would never exist.

I think that Old Biff disappeared because he changed his own history, much like Marty was disappearing in the first one. The difference is that the old Biff of "normal" 2015 would be replaced by an alternate old Biff of that would branch from the alternate 1985.

If you consider the elements of Back to the Future 2, many themes appear, such as frivolity, which is glaring in this instance.

Yeah, DVRs are really no different than VCRs - which they've had since the 80s and (some) people still use today.

Also, People do watch multiple screens at once. It's called picture-in-picture. Also, NFL Sunday ticket allows you to watch 8 games at once.

In Back to the Future 2, isn't it impossible for Marty, Doc, and Jennifer to see themselves when they go to the future?

The 1985 trio were in the Delorean going into the future the whole time. So how could they have been growing up or aging on the ground? In other words, they were in the Delorean the whole time, traveling into the future while dilating time.

Great thought,that's one of the problems with time travels...It seems that only one travel is enough to desroy the time continuum...But since they travel to the future,it means that everything that happened in the 2nd movie is known to Marty & Jennifer...I mean that their future selfs remember that they once travelled in time & met their future selfs...And this circle keeps going endlessly...

Old Biff faded away because he altered the past. Yes, he became rich and powerful for a while, but that lifestyle caught up with him. He was either killed or perhaps O.D.-d on coke. Whatever the case, he did not live to see 2015.

They should have kept the scene of Biff fading away. I always suspected thats what was happening to him, but its not the same if you cant see it happen.

One weird thing is, if the alterations in the timeline caught up enough to affect him, why didnt the entire timeline fade out along with him and change into the hellish version of 2015??

Because the timeline of events were restored to the almanac being taken away and biff never becomes rich, but then again, why does he vanish? I dont think the writers reconciled the multiverse theory or altered universe theory. Its complicated.

No, he does become rich...and ends up cutting off his nose to spite his face; i.e, he shoots dead George McFly to be able to marry Lorraine, then 26 (double-13) years later, Lorraine finds out (he supposedly double-crossed someone really high up there) and shot HIM. That's why he vanishes.

As a matter of fact, when Biff is having 'heart failure', it actually looks like a pantomime of being shot, or Hollywood's version of that. In real life, he would have been spun around by the impact of 6 bullets.

Actually it's better if the didn't include it. When they returned to the alternative 1985 it was practically hell on earth with Biff ruling things. When Marty asks Doc if they should go back to 2015 and stop Biff from stealing the time machine, Doc replied that they would only go to a future of the alternative 2015 where Biff is all powerful and society corrupt, and where Doc Brown has been institutionialized.

The threat of an alive future Biff made their mission in 1955 more important.

About the 2015 scene, I would have to say I couldn't watch more than one show at the same time because that's too noisy for me. Also, I didn't think Dave would ever appear in the alternate 1985 after I hadn't seen anybody other than Marty and his mother of the McFly family.

True. That always bothered me. But seeing him fade away was better than nothing. It was established in the first film that there is a delay for things to fade away if events were changed in the past.

I feel it clarified matters. I had wondered what had happened with Biff's "dead" body after it appeared he collapsed of a heart attack. Who found him? What happened? But understand, old Biff from 2015 faded away in new 1985. He nullified the old Biff that he was, and might've grown into an old, rich Biff living years longer than 2015
