Part 1 of 2: The problem with the Sunni Hamza Yusuf is that he contradicts himself a lot! On one hand he says Arabs could not read or write and had no idea about the concept of BOOK and on the other hand he says that Quran was written by the Sahabas from the early days! He then admits that the writing at the time had no phonetics which could have been subject to misinterpretation! (Cont..)

Part 2 of 2: He also says that every Sahaba memorized the whole Quran but later he admits that there is a verse that has only one reference! He also says that the order that the verses were revealed is different to the way they are presented in Quran. Why would God make it so complicated for everybody? Didnt God know of the mess the people are capable of making?

My conclusion is that Sunnis are not real Muslims.

@Salahuddin2009a Yes, arabs could not write, but some did. Sahaba did write, but not all. Please know that a sahaba is defined as anyone who saw the Prophet pbuh before his death who was at least 9 or so. There are many nuances.

This is exactly where the problem is! There are too many sahabas! This is a fact that almost all the citizens of the Arabia saw and heard the prophet in Haj or in the mosque or even on the street! Are they all SAHABAS? So everybody was SAHABA!

For example Zaid is a very "high ranking" companion of the Prophet pbuh as was Umar and Ali and Uthman and Abu Bakr and so on. Not every tom dick and harry was considered to be equal in "worth".

The history shows that Abu Bakr, Umar, Utheman and Aisha were the hypocrites that God was referring to.

@Salahuddin2009a At the same time, we must keep in mind that by the technical definition of sahaba, we have to know that the hadith scholars and the scholarship of Islam in general is critical and takes into consideration the concern you show in your post.

@Salahuddin2009a There is a great book by Muhammad Mustafa Al Azami about the Quran. It's a very good one. Also anotehr good book is Ulum al Quran by Ahmed von denfer (sp)

I see what your saying but i was born into an age were religion isnt taking as serious as it used to be and we have more of a choice then we did before well in christianity. most of my freinds whos mum and father are christians dont believe in religion im not sure why this is but i do agree with you when you talk about bowing before your creator and stuff and i would too if i knew for a 100% fact he/she existed.

Your opinion does matter as long as you state it in a respectful manner. It is good to see that you think Islam is the most believable, at least you're being honest. I don't see any problem with bowing before God or washing yourself before that. Bowing is an act of expressing courtesy, acknowledgment, submission and humility before the One who created you from nothing. If you ever have to bow to someone or something it should be only to God and noone else. What's wrong with that?

Think about it, your whole life in dependent on God so bowing before Him is the least thing you could do to show your appreciation. Washing your face, hands and feet has many benefits. It keeps you clean and healthy but more importantly it prepares you both spritually and physically to pray to your Lord. I don't think you'd have any problem washing yourself before going to a party so why do you think it's a problem when coming to God? It doesn't make any sense. May God guide you to the truth.

Only polytheist religeons were invented by man to control people. Ask urself this, why were the intial prophets such as moses, jesus and mohammed pbuthem all attacked, treated like criminals and persecuted? judaism and christiniaty were turned into pagan beliefs by incorporating pagan beliefs. once a prophet leaves the people (or a main spirtual figure) what he leaves behind becomes just a few collected rituals, people forget the inner spirit and do the shape of what they have their forefathers doing. At this time because of what ever reason things that were not told by the prophet (or that spirtual figure) get added into the practice/belief of people and without a direct intervention the Original teachings are lost forever.

first of all we don't bow to somebody that is worthless, like meny people do. many people bow to money, their desires and .... if you look at it this way every body is bowing to something/somebody. That was very informative, but just to point out a very quick comment: maliki yom eddeen in all 7 variations it means the "possessor" and has NOTHING to do with King. As he said, these variations are based on the different trips that have different dialects in the same aria (Saudi Arabia) but shaikh Hamza learnd in Africa and it has nothing to do with local dialectal differences between Mekka-Madina and Soulamia.
