I enjoyed getting 2 know her sisters better. In the first movie we heard them sing "Daughters of Triton" and talk in one scene. And in Return to the sea, we see them wave to Ariel briefly when Melody is born (they don't even speak!!!). Now we finally get to see what they're like and get to know them.

Anyone else think the animation, especially the facial animation, is really similar to the animated portions of Enchanted? Giselle and Ariel bear a striking resemblance.

Whether or not this movie is an acceptable addition to the Disney canon or not, I still actually do want to see it.

It's possible but, what about the fact that Ursula has an octupus sister(Morgana) in the second movie? It seems like Ursula's whole family was already octupuses, not mermaids.

And, in the first movie, she only complains about being exiled, not turned into an octupus.

I can't wait for the movie but, i hope they stick to the storyline they set up in the first and second movie and the tv show.

Okay, let me set the record straight about Ariel's sister.

Attina has a crown while the other sisters do not, so that means she must be the next in line, i.e. oldest. The series shows Ariel with Arista "Beached" and then with Alana "Eel-Ectric City" so it's a toss up between which of the two is younger. I personally believe the order is

1. Attina (proven)

2. Aquata

3. Adrina

4. Adella

5. Alana

6. Arista

I guess we won't know for sure until the movie though.

I love the little mermaid 1 and 2... but this really doesn't look like anything new. The original idea was to have Ursela/Ariel's mom and show Ursela banished and I guess how the mom died. This is just a light hearted take on "Footloose" from the looks of it. The sense of depth that the original and even the sequel had to an extent seem to be gone. Sad.
