To me Nokia N900 is better, I mean it has a keyboard, very confortable to use, and is suports flash (BOOOM!) than gives it like 1000 more points than the gay iphone...And N900 has beautifull design.

It amazes me that some of you comment on the N900 just from watching a video, iv'e had a hands on test in the vodafone store where I live and its unreal! stupidly fast as in browser loads pages almost 2 seconds after a click!!

As for the HTC HD2 yes its an amazing bit of kit and I nearly chose that over the N900 due to it having a capacitive screen, but after lots of research it now turns out that the camera and video camera has a pink splodge on all devices and sms 9 out of 10 will not send!

I've been wanting this phone for a long time now ( well 2 months ) and I'm still thinking of getting it.

It seems a real gem of a phone but while doing my research I find out that around 1 in every 4 N900's has a technical problem / bug that makes the phone reboot itself at random times and this happens on a constant basis.

Type "why does my nokia n900 keep rebooting" into google and go onto links that show users of the N900 who have this problem.

actually it runs pretty good on edge. but if you want 3g, you'll have to go with T-mo as they support the 900/1700 band for it, but their coverage is potty. otherwise, the N900 has wifi support and as i said before, edge is decent.

The whole idea is open natured - anyone can write software for it, you aren't restrained as you are with the iphone (tho' it's going for a different market from the iphone). I think it will appeal to the type of user that like to tweak their phones and run unique apps that other devices don't do. I don't xpect many iphone fanboys to love this tho' - it's too different in nature.

Will the N900 have a built in Compass? The best piece of Hardware so far to add to a mobile device. I love it on iPhone and HTC Magic. Amazing when Compass mode is used in Street View in Google maps.

I wish for compass to be on this phone too and do that amazing Compass mode on Google Maps, exactly like Android.

Satio better than N900? Hmm - a multimedia device that doesn't have 3.5mm headphone jack, sounds about as good an idea as Betamax, UMD, Minidisc and Atrac. I tried the satio yesterday, and it is honestly awful - maybe like the N97 it was rushed out, but it was laggy, and even crashed while the salesman was showing it. Guess I'll just wait till mid november for the N900

danniethe123, I would highly recommend to you buying the iPhone 3GS. I am not biased to any brand of mobile device however, I would like to share some of my experiences with you. Nokia make wonderful devices. Amazing. But owning a nokia N95 and an N97, they do tend to lag and sometimes freeze, resulting in removal of the battery and the re-booting of the whole device.

I agree, i own the N95 8 GB, and it tends to freeze regulary, i had to remove the battery many times to get it running again. Don't forget that n900 uses a new OS compared to both n95 & n97. Iphone is a bit overhyped, 8 of my friends already own it, so i'm going for the specs of the n900

I assume you are talking about the Samsung HD? I havn't had as much experience with these devices as Nokia, however from using several touch-screen Samsung mobiles i often do find they can tend to be a little 'jittery' with the touch screen response times and over-all smooth-ness. I am not incinuating that iPhones are the 'be all and end all'. My first iPhone would'nt boot, resulting in the sending away and the dreaded declaration of DOA.

During the time that the iPhone was away, I started to re-kindle my joy in using the Nokia N97, however it started to lag and freeze and I put it down as fast as it was picked up. I bought a new iPhone 3GS recently, and the performance is jaw-dropping. The overall interface smooth-ness, response times and multi-tasking applications this has turned me to iPhone. This is why i would recommend buying the iPhone 3GS, but its your personal opinion that counts. Hope I helped.

The n900 is looking to be way better than the n97, so I'm considering it. Few points I don't really like on the Iphone in comparison to the N900 and HD2 are: the price, that it was released in June (so it's a few months old) and the interface is getting boring because you can't change the color (or can you?.
