  • Yep, the real ones are Marklins Spur 1 models. I`m really happy as a collector, because in our model railway club we use the same Marklin gauge 1 track. It surely reminded me of the old series, when I assigned in the club. And I`m really happy that I`ve bought The G scale model of Thomas From Bachmann . Normally I`m in HO/00 , But i couldnt resist that really big Thomas - and in the club he has more than 4 km of track to chuff on. I even uploaded video with Thomas. Kind Regards! :)

  • How much does Emily cost 30$ 40$ or what I need to know!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its edward lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what a wheel

  • what a wheel

  • cool

  • Why is she moving so slow?

  • what is actually better?

    Hornby or Bachmann?

  • @stowrob Bachmann, my Hornby Thomas packed up on me today and won't work, he just makes a whirring noise, while Bachmann Edward and Henry have nothing wrong. (Exept Edward's wonky buffer)

  • Where did the testing materials come from? And I believe that four wheels move because the two wheels in front of Emily's driving wheels are also powered.

  • Topkazfatt, what is that emily is running on and where could i get one, cuz i could use one of them :o

  • If you want to get the Hornby Models, you either have to go to the UK or special order them.

  • The Hornbys look closer to actual proto type locomotives which I think is pretty good, while Bachmann has made them closer to the characters. The Hornbys look more real in terms of authentistity, while the Bachmanns look more like the characters out of the story.

  • AWSOME!

  • I wonder how close to prototype Stirling dimensions this model is. It could make an excellent conversion into a scale model.

  • Emily is very close to acual thing the only difference in the pictue i found was; emily has a face and Emily's paint is Darker

  • And Australia...

  • looks like your Bachmann has a lazy eye

  • wut i foregot to add was 'srry' and you guys just downrate

  • y'never know, you might get lucky :)

  • THOSE EYES LOOK TERRIBLE!!

  • Do you have Edward and Mavis because they're out already??

  • What's that you got Emily standing on to test her wheels? 'cause I've been looking for something like that.

  • it's a hornby rolling road

  • So you can't get one for bachmann?

  • bachmann don't do one no, but Hornby one will work with bachamnn though. the wheel stands are adjustable I believe

  • I'm just wondering if you can get one in the US, and we don't have Hornby.

  • I'm not sure. You may find one on ebay, but i don't think any US co makes one of these

  • As much as I love Hornby (I'm not really into Bachmann), I must say the Hornby Emily is abysmal. This is much better, which is why I'm buying this one :)

  • lucky i bought hornby emily ages ago and i was oh BEEP when isaw this one

  • Dont they have Oliver in bachman or do they only have him in hornby?

  • They only have him in Hornby.

  • im a huge fan of thomas and i think Emily is the best bachmann model out of all the thomas models

  • how come on eye looks up and the other looks down? at 1:01

  • How much did she make on those Dyno pulls? ;)

Joking, I'm joking. anyways, you've really done a fantastic job with your railroad so far.

  • i have emily. but not her coaches

  • at 1:00, her eyes go in different directions. :D

  • kinda creepy... :O

  • What I meant was "that was kinda creepy".

  • i go an o scale set yestrday

  • why are 4 wheels moveing?

  • I think that reason is a problem of the adhesive weight.

  • Either that, or the two main wheels alone couldn't pull as much as she reallt does.

  • @topkazfatt I think it's because all four of those wheels are powered.

  • bluesouljim

    its not

hornby and bachmann are both HO/00 scale

the real ones are 0 scale

    they are very big

  • The real ones are not O scale.

Based on Märklin's gauge 1, bigger than O scale.

    HO/OO scale < O scale < Gauge 1.

  • thanks for info

    never heard of that gauge

  • You're welcome.

    Gauge 1 is 1:32 scale.(in UK 1:30.5)

  • @autistickid11 No actually the real ones are 1 gauge witch is bigger than 0.

  • don't say that to christ1000000

  • Incredible

  • because no Thomas toys have moving eyes!

  • i was waiting for something 2 go bang !

  • lol me to

  • Wow! is that the same model that was used in TV series?

  • No way. The model in the TV series is gigantic. This one is toy-sized.

  • yeah right! the model in tv series is toy-sized unless it's a large scale.

Hell, yeah! i think this is that model for the tv series.

  • bluesouljim yes they do

    bachmann do

    hornby don't

  • ooo hapy chrismas :P

  • Cool, her eyes move!

  • Great video, topkazfatt!

  • Cool, I saw this on the promoted Videos Page. Congrats!

  • in the tv series if you look closlyshe wobbles side to side a bit. dose the bachmann model wobble side to side?

  • this so funny and rockin

  • I always loved "Emily". Some very rich eccentric ought to build a full scale version of her. I'd take a ride.

Even better turn her loose in the subway. I imagine she get a few comments. In sucg grim times we need more playful silliness in our lives.

  • It's funny you should say that because I was in Melbourne's short underground railway system waiting on a train when a friggin steam engine pulled up much to the delight of children and amazement of adult...no warning or explanation of any kind was given, just a steam train stopping, then going!

  • Ah, that I would have loved to see. The very early subways in London were steam trains I believe. As were a few of the very early experimental subwaylines here in New York.

Still, to be standing on the platform say at the 34th Street station, and "Emily" chugg's up hauling the No.3 Brooklyn/Newlots to Harlem/Lenox Terminal train,...well.

That would make an interesting "Doctor Who" episode.

  • I forgot to ask. Is this "Emily" model set commercially available in the States? Or is it some "one of a kind" layout?

I haven't been an "HO" fan for some years so am out of the loop.

  • Nevermind, I simply read the page, and saw that Bachman has the set.

  • at 1:01 emily's eyes are crossed.

  • yeah, her eyes move whilst she moves!! WEIRD!

  • She nearly looks like the actual on screen version, better than her Hornby model.

  • I think so.

  • ugh, the hornby model looks horrible compared to this one, which looks like the real thing!

  • me neither, but mine is cheaper than your topkazzfatt

  • nICE ONE MAN

  • please make a series soon

  • Think he's too busy for a series. =P

  • nice rig..and framing

  • Thank you!

  • Looks great! Will you put a DCC chip and a smoke generator in her?

  • Already finished.

However, I cannot be satisfied with that result.

More improvement is necessary for her.

  • maybe you could show us quickly what it is like?

  • Wow! Runs great!

  • I can't wait for you to test Edward and Mavis when they arrive!

  • only a month now :D

  • I waited for this Emily from Christmas of the year before last.

I think that Edward, Mavis are released in Christmas of this year or the next year.

Of course I am glad at the earliest...

  • I called Bachmann Industries back in November and the consumer rep. said that Eddie & Mavis should be out in February (fingers crossed).

  • Oh! really!? that's great!!!!

However, their announcements are unreliable ):(

  • I know what you mean. I'm a little worried by the fact that they still don't have real models displayed on their website for Edward and Mavis. They still have those cartoon-like pictures on display. But if the long wait means that the engines will look amazing, then I don't mind waiting.

  • i've got her

  • Wow! She looks better than I thought. :D

  • Nice test run! I hope I get Emily soon!

  • What are her haulage capabilities?

  • Well, she can barely pull 2 express coaches...

  • No, I think topkazfatt just ran her very slowly.

  • The bigger drive wheel makes it look slower, but she is running fast.

  • The purpose of her slow speed is the camera.

If she runs fast, the focus cannot be chased.

  • I love it! I've got to get one soon!

I noticed that the 2 wheels in front of the driving wheels were also spinning. Is that supposed to happen?

  • Actually, two wheels that you say drive.

    Therefore, this Emily is 2-4-2.

I think that this solution is reasonable because single driver's adhesive power is low

    by all means.

  • nice, cant wait to get her!

  • cool, she looks good on your layout!
