i have two of those HD4870 2gb card on CROSSFIRE,but why are the frame rate are still low when playing GTA 4?

even when playing CRYSIS WARHEAD,the game set the graphic only at LOW setting.

when i was using a Gigabyte HD4850 1GB, it run even better even when only use only one card.

i still don't understand why are these thing happening.

to make matter worst,everytime i play a game,for example GTA4,the game kepe crashing every 15-20 minutes.

The problem will probably be with the software, not the PSU. GTA IV usually crashes with 4000 series radeons, the game is simply badly optimalised. There are sollutions for that on YT, search for "GTA IV 4870 crash" or sthg like that. Another source of the problem could be the motherboard, the chipset maybe, but that PSU has to take your config, it won't EVER consume more than 500W. (2GB RAM+4870 512MB in X-fire+ Q9650+ASUS p5e3 deluxe => 430W peak consumption)

I bought the HD 4850 512 mo version and it's very silent contrary to the hd 4850 with rad single slot. I play GTA IV in 1680*1050, I do 50 FPS with the benchmark.

I have o/c the card to 700/1024 and I do P6554 in 3d marks vantage.

In france, this card cost 120€

the benchmark is garbage. i do 45+ average with a 4870 512mb and a Q6600 3.2ghz ( 60+ max ) but ingame you get way less. and it sucks.

I bought the HD4870 2GB version cos I needed over 1GB ram for GTA 4 (1611 MB at everything full, 1920x1200), but when put all max, the GPU isn't fast enough for it. Maybe it's the game not optimised, maybe with 2 of these cards in CrossFire could do it, but at the moment I can't play on max graphics, still better than my previous vid card with only 512 MB ram. So I can play at 1920x1200, basically high everything (couldn't set high textures before) only draw dist at like 25 and detail like 50.
