This was a funny review, but, I actually really like the Jim Carrey version of The Grinch. It's a guilty pleasure of mine. True, it's not the animated Chuck Jones version, and there are some things wrong with it, but I still found it really enjoyable. The Cat in The Hat is FAR worse!

The Grinch with Jim Carrey was a great movie, I dont see why it's seen as horrible at all. Sure it isn't like the actual cartoon but they gotta make SOME kind of plot, origin, and dialogue. It's how movies work and I thought that film worked well. Plus it spawned a really great Christmas song, in my opinion
