oh man, just goes to show that even this thing is much cheaper than the EEEpc, it's much better under the hood. The EEEpc got a rating of 1.0 on the windows expirence index thingy. I'm getting one of these!

how can it run vista ultimate when the acer aspire one only has a tiny 8mb integrated grafix chip and ultimate requires a minimum of 128mb grafix card?
By the way, how did you get the Wireless to work? I haven't really did a full troubleshoot on this but any help to ease my search would be appreciated. Thanks!
got everything to work. wireless drivers were in the updates. Since u cant update using wireless connection, i physically connected the laptop to router to download the updates. After insatlling the update, wireless connection was up and running. Hope this helps anyone. One last problem i have though, is that touchpad's side and bottom scroll feature is not functioning and I dont know where to set it. Any info would help..tnx
Awesome Video! Thanks for the help too. I'm not able to do the Flip 3D. I've had this laptop for almost a year now, just didn't use it. I have 3 and I use my dell XPS more. I saw a vid with a touchscreen on the AA1, i thought i would do that but did this one instead. Thanks for the vid. By the way the AA1 is fast on vista. I am using a 4GB SD card for REadyboost also.
hey where did you download the ethernet and wi-fi drivers from? i've tried so many drivers but none of them work :( i'm using the 32-bit vista ultimate.
i just purchased one of these and i had it about a week now. but recently it has been taking a long time to boot up and all of the stuff is really slow. all of the noises are occuring in a slow, staticy manner. If anyone kmows how to fix this id appreciate a reply.
Hey I just did the same thing to my Acer but the only think I cant get to work is the webcam.
I have installed so many drivers but they don't work. It wont Recognize the driver. Its driving me nuts!! Im considering installing both XP and Vista on the same harddrive and boot from either or to Use the webcam.
Honeslty thats a little extreme for me. Let me, Please if anything if you were even able to get it to work.
Vista Ultimate Runs smoothly with only 1gb of RAM on mine. Apps launch and run great. I'll be going up to 1.5gb soon and that should be all the better.
Hi everyone, he burned the vista iso using USB insertion. All you do is burn the ISO to a usb, and boot from Acer Aspire into USB by enteing boot menu from the BIOS.
It's not fake. And The Aspire One is actually quite powerful to run this type of graphic intensive application / operating system so I don't believe the rumors.
I just installed Vista using an external USB DVD drive. None o the drivers, even the Ethernet/Wireless worked, so I used a Sprint wireless card to install all Vista updates.
Hey, did you just install the retail Windows Vista or you tweaked it out a bit? Because I'm planning on purchasing one aswell and also have Windows Vista Ultimate laying around here. Do I best tweak it first or anything or just install it?
