  • @BluestreakPictures i would definately come up there with a crow bar and pimp wack them upside their heads

  • I gave this an "ouch" just because it hurt my ears. :P

  • What this company used to do? Were they incharge of updating programing like Backbone and Havok do to old generation games?

  • Ant29--

The Program Exchange is an organization that distributes re-runs of long cancelled programs such as "Coach", "Taxi", "The Addams Family", and "The Munsters" among others.

  • As for me, the latest logo is NOT a Nike "ripoff". If you pay some attention, you'll see a Special arrow's head. Pointing to the bottom means you're receiving information. Suddenly, the "ball" interrups downloading and turns it into sending information.

    SENDING + RECEIVNG = EXCHANGING

  • @thegabe2140 What?

  • 2nd 0 one from s1 bered eps of gga

  • Ahhhh.....nostalgia!

  • What is the Program Exchange anyway?

  • @Ant29 It's a TV syndication service, much like Warner Brothers Domestic TV Distribution, Paramount, Viacom, King World, Sony Pictures TV, etc.

  • If I was the guy that ran Nike id sue their ass.

  • @BluestreakPictures thank u i'd kick their ass because that almost look like the nike logo man WTF?

  • @BluestreakPictures And if I was the guy that ran the Program Exchange, I'd take the second from the last, loop it, transpose it down a tritone, and sue whoever wrote "Tik Tok".

  • For the 1987 and 1993 ones (the logos I grew up with) I would always call these two logos "Exchange Program" because of how they start.

  • @GDelva2003 it's called the program exchange you idiot not exchange program WTH is that!

  • @Eugealrules

I know that. Did you read my comment carefully? I said that I would always call these two logos "Exchange Program" BECAUSE OF HOW THEY START.

  • @GDelva2003 yes earlier good lord because u said it backwords man, cause where the hell did u get Exchange Program from i told it's The Program Exchange.

  • wow I remember the second to last one...why they change it, it looks atrocious now

  • I like the second-to-last one. It reminds me of the end of Star Trek: TNG.

  • The last one looks like the logo for a pharmaceutical company

  • The 1987 and 1993 Program Exchange logos have gotta be my ultimate FAVORITE logo/jingles ever!! No matter how many times I see or hear them, I never get tired of it. : )

  • the 3rd and 4th one were the ones I grew up with

  • @2000rubs WHEN I WAS 8-12 YEARS OLD. Now, it doesn't phase me.

  • They should have kept the second-most recent one.

  • Way to go, PE. You made yourselves look like a Drug Commercial with that new logo LOL

  • 0:07 scared the hell out of me when I was like 8-12 years old. Here I am, 6 years later, and I'm still kind of weirded out.

  • Is that last one supposed to be for a computer or something? i never see it

  • I've known of the 3rd and 4th logo as a kid

  • Program Exchange is still around?

  • The new one looks like a Nike mock logo

  • I like the old Program Exchange logos. I love that sound makes. Also, they put some of my favorite cartoons like Dennis The Menace and change programs from one network to another.

  • MizHydee251, What's wrong with you? Stop arguing.

  • The new one appears on TV Guide's reruns of Just Shoot Me

  • The new logo should been like this:Arrows crash. making the Program Exchange logo. with the words ZeitnhOpimedia under the word. with new music.

  • Dont worry. I can still see the old DFS Program Exchange logo. right after a show. thats new.

  • @Nodog438 Like americas next top model.

  • I liked the BGM of the logos, up to the 4th one. The 5th's tune is a lot simpler than the ones before it, has little "oomph" and doesn't last very long. That's why I don't like it.

I can understand why some people might be a little fearful of this kind of stuff. Sound interferes with our minds on a basic level, so some people might associate certain sounds in different ways when they're children. A lot of TV jingles creeped me out as a kid.

TV's bad for us anyhow. =p

  • good job!

  • the good thing is i have a kid and he's afraid of the 2nd to last one but the last one is so calming that he likes it now

  • The sad thing is that the shortest lived logo (1986-87, DFS Dorland) was the best logo.

  • I remember the first one that played after "Dennis the Mennace". The third one from "Woody Woodpecker" and "Rocky and Bullwinkle", and the fourth one from "Garfield and Friends". I don't recall ever seeing the second or fifth ones, thought.

  • Awesome!

  • 1-3 sound like windows start-up sounds

  • This was always my favorite logo growing up. I liked the music a lot.

  • My favorite is the one at 0:09. I was born during its run :)

  • wow The Program Exchange Is A Great Logo I Liked When I Was A Little Kid Thanks Johnny L80 For The Video of The Program Exchange Logo I Miss The Old Days I Love Program Exchange Thank You So Much

  • I agree with you 100% the original music was the best.

  • "Zenith Optimedia"??!

  • Why is it that many recent closing logos have boring white backgrounds? Do designers these days think color is "too retro"?

Anyway, the new logo doesn't even make sense! The arrows made sense because they're called Program Exchange (and the arrows going different ways represent an exchange... at least that was what I gathered as a child). What the heck do a bouncing ball and Nike logo ripoff (is it supposed to be a checkmark?) represent anyway?

  • @ReturnofTheBunny Today's graphic design bugs me. It's like everything you knew is wrong according to these people.

  • first logo: scary second logo: not bad exept for the dorland thing third logo logo not bad exept the sounds forth logo kinda cool fith logo: great

  • Stop the vid at 0:17, the '08 logo is too pathetic!

  • My favorite one is the one at :13

  • I loved seeing/hearing this logo on Bullwinkle in the early '90s.

  • "Barter", in case you're wondering, meant that any station could have their choice of "DFS Program Exchange" shows FREE of charge, provided they aired two minutes of General Mills commercials sent out with each program- the other four minutes of ad time were theirs to sell locally, to other advertisers...

  • ...by the early '90s, D-F-S had merged with the Dorland agency, which then became a part of European ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi (who eventually dropped the 'DFS' from the company name). Today, the "Program Exchange" continues as part of 'Zenith Optimedia'...

  • The "Program Exchange" was originally created in 1983 by Dancer-Fitzgerald-Sample, an ad agency that represented General Mills, to syndicate their "old" cartoon series "ROCKY AND HIS FRIENDS", "THE BULLWINKLE SHOW", "KING LEONARDO AND HIS SHORT SUBJECTS", '"TENNESSEE TUXEDO", and "THE UNDERDOG SHOW", along with their commercials on a "barter" basis to local stations. Eventually, this led to redistribution of Screen Gems/Columbia's "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" and "BEWITCHED", and other series....

  • Good way to make old programs like new on broadcast networks. Evidentally it worked out pretty well because I remember seeing those airing on broadcast stations.

  • 1979

  • I was just thinking of this recently! I remembered the music at 0:13 but had no idea what logo it was, since it's probably been more than ten years since I last saw it. It's a wonder I ever found it!! It seems like I remember seeing the logo at the end of a Scooby-Doo at one time or another, seems like maybe the ones with Scrappy-Doo in them.

  • My favorite was always the one starting at 0:09.

  • that's my favorite one too. It came right after woody woodpecker

  • On what shows can the 2008 version of The Program Exchange be seen at?At least this logo is still around for it's history and not extinct like the good ones.

  • I've seen the last one on the ending of Just Shoot Me

  • When exactly in 1979 did the first one come out. I wanna say Winter but I was born in 86' and mostly grew up with the third + 1993's version.

  • @joecortina Fall 1979

  • Brings back good memories.

  • yeah it does... when I was a kid in 1991 I would watch any show just to hear the logo theme at the end... I still like it today

  • I may be wrong, but there's one variation missing (it was a modern version of the 1987 logo with the 1993 music).

  • Search "The Program Exchange (1980s)".

  • the 1987 program exchange was my fav one basically the one that starts at 9 seconds.

  • I Remember Taken from Sailor Moon for 13-17 Seconds

  • The Best is the 1993 one. The 1979 one has the scariest music.

  • I sort of like the 1979 one. Pounding out a Square Wave on a Yamaha keyboard. :)

  • ALERT! ALERT! New baby in youtube!

  • What's with the Nike Swoosh on the last one?

I had completely forgotten about the original keyboard smash version until I found it attached to a DiC logo over on Dailymotion.

  • I agree that the 2008 logo is soo boring and corporate! I have always enjoyed the previous logos. :-)

  • The 2008 one has no soul. >:(

  • agreed :D

  • I also concur.

  • wow i never really saw these again untill now i love them all excecpt the 2008 one and the 1st one scared me! =D but the 2008 logo sucks balls.

  • I know a lot of you hate the new Program Exchange logo but that is because you are used to the older logo. The reason the Program Exchange logo was changed was because the company is no longer owned by Saatchi & Saatchi North America. The Program Exchange is now owned by ZenithOptimedia. The new logo was created to reflect this new ownership.

  • @benjaminvlz No it DOES look better

  • the jingle used from '79 to '93 used to SCARE THE HELL OUTTA ME!

  • Yeah, I know, lol. After my shows end, I used to be scared of it until the 1999 to 2008, those are better!!!

  • you guys are morons...

  • WHY THE DEUCE DON'T YOU MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS?!!? i am NOT a moron, butthead.

  • okay stewie i'm sorry. I just don't like the new jingle, that's all

  • That makes two of us.

  • As a moo-moo cladded shut-in, I'm suprised I haven't stumbled opon the newest logo yet while watching daytime TV.

Also, Lexus commercials were done by the company that owns The Program Exchange.

  • You know what? You are stupid!

  • We just don't like the 08 logo. Why can't you just accept that?

  • You must be a boring math scholar because the new logo is boring.

  • FUCK YOU!

  • Stop it! Maybe JessieDaughtry is right saying that the new logo is crap, and MizHydee251 may have a point that the old logos scare anyone at any time.

  • You have a point there. Good point

  • the new logo sucks ass. all the logos that came before it are better than it Especially the one on 0:09.

  • Nicely done, JohnnyL80! I remember the great '87 and '93 logos from my childhood. The new logo is simply awful.

  • I agree with ya myself.

  • I remember ALL of these, from my childhood, (except the new, shitty one from '08, of course)

but the one that brings back the MOST memories for me, are the ones at :9 and :10. Sitting in front of the TV, and seeing it after Dennis The Menace. *sigh* Makes me wish I was a kid again.

  • Sorry, I didn't mean :10. I meant :14.

  • Now that I think about it, would it have killed them that much to just change the company text at the bottom of the '93 logo? Not only do I miss the arrows, but to be honest the new jingle is just...well long story short the new one is absolutely pathetic.

  • i never seen the last one b4? where did it come from?

    it sucks..

  • i know, everything new is absolutely pathetic, i share the same ammount nostalgia you have, in our beloved 80s and early 90s we had 12 great channels with quality programming

and what do today's kids have? their dish network with over 500 pointless channels and stupid station ids and logos

  • Amen to that! Amen!

  • @tmbttes im a 2000 kid and the new one is stupid.

    like come on.

a nike ripoff and a bouncing ball? wtf

  • @wakkoswish123 thank you that's why i don't wear the fucking shoes any fucking more because they ripped off the nike logo!

  • I can't stand the new 2008 Program Exchange logo. That jingle irritates the bloody hell outta me.

  • They should've went back to the late 80's logo. :D

  • the new one should not uv been made

  • Like always... older is better :)

  • my fav is the one at the 9 second mark

  • My favourite is the logo at :13

The new one sucks on ice.

  • I agree. It's just pathetic.

  • i dont know...i guess in partial to the older 70s/80s look of things

  • Where did you get the second logo from?

  • Dennis the Menace - the animated series - on AOL's In2TV service.

  • i think its a major let down compared to the old ones...the music sounds like something from kindergarten and the graphics make it look like some Japanese company

    the old ones were cool

  • Yeah, the new jingle is just...how can I say it. Its very barfworthy. They should have just stuck with the old one.
