Great song, great video, great show. The only thing I never got about Hokuto no Ken was, where the hell does kenshiro get all of his jackets from. He keeps exploding them when he 'hulks out' so does he have like a tailor follow him around?
@BigSteve300 Thanks for the responce. I remember watching this for the first time in 1987 I was 10 years old and we got a new VCR (a VHS one) and we where renting videos in the video store, I saw this and picked it up and watched it with my mom. After the first scene with Shinn she was like this is sick but sat there with me and watched the whole thing. After it was over she was like it had a good story but was kinda gross. Again thanks for posting this, it's always nice to remember good times.
LOL! I'm actually suprised your mum let you watch it.
I actually first saw this in 2006. I had my big sis scouring ebay for it. I'd seen most of the series at the time but I decided I wanted to see the movie version.
I got it eventually though and it stuck with me for ages. Good times indeed.
@BigSteve300 actually I don't think Yuda appears in the movie at all. Rei dies almost immediately after Raoh strikes his pressure point, instead of four days later.
@leotheman2003 Speaking of Vampire Hunter D, the same director of this film also directed the original Vampire Hunter D from 1985 (this film being released a year later, and the American version in 1991). During the scene when Raoh and his forces march the streets, there's a villager in one quick shot who looks suspiciously like D.
This movie kicks some serious ass, i saw this movie in early 96 at age 14 as i had an anime love since december of 95 when i watched Akira thanks to reading an article on anime in Newsweek in junior high and bought a copy of this movie rightaway after watching this. I'm glad they released it now again on DVD.
anyone who wants this anime on dvd can get several good copies on ebay. which include the the entire series and the ova's and the original animated movie.
no one, the dvd's themselves are merely fan made but they're pretty good copies and they even come with 5.1 dolby digital sound along with cleaned up footage.
Funimation But in look into heartofmadness . net they have a megatorrent containing both parts of the original Series the LA movie and the Animated one as well as the OST's
Kick ass video. Anime these days just doesn't compare to anime of the 80's. I'm 33, which is an old fart in the anime scene nowadays, but i'll tell ya, these classics still hold up against anything out these days. Great job bro!
Thanks dude. I argree that there were alot of good anime in the 80s but I like alot of the stuff that's been out in this decade. There were a few good ones in the 90s too.
why ken is really ryu shin ken or vega ??? lol jk

Thanx. Glad you enjoyed it.
I think alot of HnK fan wonder where Ken get a new jacket from after he rips out of them.
Actually I remember at the beguining of one episode we see him sewing on of his shoes. Maybe he does the same with his jackets.

@dark7element Nah, Raoh knows manly when he listens to it. It was prolly Jagi.

I still have the VHS. The movie HBO made from the animated movie sucked though. Love to see a remake of it. Like they did for Vampire D.
