  • Perfect.

  • Paul Dempsey is unbelievable, I could not love him or SFK more... every time I hear this song it changes my life and perspective a little bit. Amazing!

  • this guy is fucking amazing !!!!!!!!!!

  • I think Paul Dempseys voice sounds like an instrument all of it's own!!

  • when i hear this song i can't help thinking it's about the story of a refugee family escaping oppression but not finding a resolution

  • saw SFK play @ Rosemount Hotel in Perth in 07. Smallish pub club venue at that time. Such an overwhelming presence from Mr Dempsey. Most AMAZING gig I have seen in years. You can never fault SFK or Paul Dempsey. Makes an Aussie gal proud as punch! xx

  • i drive around with this album on.....everything looks and feels different.....

  • @branchwarrenolympia I know what you mean. I love to listen to it on long roadtrips.

  • @branchwarrenolympia yeh when im on a long trip through the country i always play this album atleast once. its good.

  • Awesome!

Reminds me alot of an Eliott Smith song. Really pretty yet still has a an tone of sadness underneath it all.

  • I just listened to this for the 1st time and thought the exact same thing : ) Its lovely.. sad & like another said a voice similar and yet like no other... cool huh : )

  • i love paul dempsey but i think all the videos so far never fit the songs. they need to simplify or something i dont know. feels forced. this tricky stuff.

  • im in love with this song and myself.

  • i love this song... paul dempsey is amazing. he's a beautiful writer...

  • whaaa?? he writes his songs?? sweett

  • @oOCarCrashHeartOo all good artists write their own songs. if i could underline good, i would.

  • If that is true without exception, many, many jazz musicians are not good artists. And the phrase "artistic interpretation", which we use for playing songs we didn't write, becomes a contradiction.

You have a good point but it's much, much less black and white than: if you didn't write the song you're playing, then you're not a good artist.

  • typed pauls name in the search string...listened to the song and now i love it...just like something for kate

  • i love this song.

i would love it even more if i found the tabs for it.

  • capo first fret (fingering relative to capo):

    e 0 0 0

    b 1 1 1

    g 0 0 0

    d 2 3 3

    a x x x

    e x x 3

They're the three basic chords of verse and yeh he does some embellishments. I could tab the whole song but it would take ages haha.

  • ah thanks heaps.

that has honestly made my week.

  • Hey man cheers since it made your week. Instead of three chords it might be four so after the first chord play a normal C. So:

    e 0 0

    b 1 1

g 0 0 (and then two other chords)

    d 2 2

    a x 3

    e x x

  • hehe you said fingering

  • @DanC221 he also wraps his thumb over the top of the neck when he plays aka.Hendrix style. VERY cool!!!

  • lol, lyrics are kinda sinister but great song

  • reminds me of postman pat lol

  • Thomas the tank engine too.

  • magic

  • I chanced upon this song tonite in a random music store. I fell in love with it and others songs made by this genius. Paul Dempsey, its a pleasure to meet u.

  • Look up 'Something for Kate' - thats where the bulk of Paul's work is, they are great.

  • its weird, but when i hear music this good i just have this content feeling. great acoustic mix in his songs, like the organ in numbness blending with the guitar then contrasting the guitar in the organ solo. class stuff. keep it up you rock

  • wat a great artist even though he struggles with writing the stuff he comes up with is outstanding

  • It's good to hear some quality Australian music, makes me proud to be an Aussie.

  • when do you not hear quality aussie music?

  • does any1 have tabs for this song?

  • Love him. Love his voice... Super choice!

  • the vocals and guitar sound awesome in this track, such a great song

  • Pal unreal, long live pants

  • haha that's mad. the lil v-line trains.

  • Ha- so easy to tell this is a Victorian clip! Would love to know whose model railway that is, looks awesome! Hopefully it will feature in AMW soon.

  • love the acoustic in your songs...so chilled out awesome

  • beautiful

  • I missed out on seeing the Cure so I could watch Paul Dempsey sing at Livid in 2000 in Brissy & now I get to see him do his thing this year again at the same place I saw him sing 9 years ago & I'm pretty stoked coz Paul is a great Aussie artist! Love this song!
