It's more like a copy of Google Chrome. Besides that, yes ie9 has improved in many ways compared to ie8 but the fact that it doesn't displays the web properly, compared to Google Chrome & Firefox, is still there.

You should review Firefox 4 Bete. it looks like internet explore and Chrome 7. but you can Group tabs together. I think its have a great look to it. but I think that all of these browsers (Firefox, internet explore, google chrome) are fast but its all up to preferences.

@marquesbrownlee Dont worry i installed Windows Vista service pack 2, now it works :) IE9 Beta is a bit slow at loading at the start, i disabled the Skype add-on which took and added 30 seconds load time :o

something i'd just like to point out. IE9 beats Chrome 7 in that fish test. that test is MADE by Microsoft, all the other hardware acceleration tests are won by Chrome.

For some reason, the IE 9 beta just doesn't want to run for me. I click the shortcut, a window opens and closes after a few seconds...running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.

Yeah, even tried reinstalling a few times as well as cleaning registry entries and every other standard procedure. Kinda sucks since I've keeping tabs on IE 9 since day one and have been trying to get it to work since the release of the beta.

I blame this month since in a nutshell, it hasn't been the best for me.

It's around the time for me to do a reformat either way (like doing it every 6 months or so) just to have a totally clean system and start fresh...maybe I'll have better luck when I do. XD

I think I'll retract my comment? fishtank was created with ie9 in mind and was somehow bugged to perform better on ie9. I dont find it at all correct! I watched this video on youtube with ie9 beta, the frames that passed by per second were unbelievably bad! I tried watching a video that had a person talking infront of the camera, well, audio-video sync was horrible!

This might just be a beta bug. (hope it isnt like this in final release).

I guess I can't comment until ie9 is released fully.

The new IE9 is good, although these are my thoughts:

IE9: Meh, it's by Microsoft

Chrome: A good web browser by the internet giant Google ;)

Firefox: A good browser that has lots of addons for it

Safari: Too bloated

Opera: A great browser that doesn't get enough recognition

I REALLY like the IE9 beta. I've been running it for a few days and love it. The only problem I've found with it is that it doesn't seem to play too good with Wordpress. When I try to go to make a post (my own hosting, not WP.com) it acts all weird. The exact same thing happens with Chrome too. The only browser that seems to play nicely with is Firefox which I have to use every time I make an update to my site. Other than that, for regular surfing, IE9 is FAST. It launches/loads pages instantly

It's for Vista and 7, lower than Vista it won't work. Having to use IE at work, this is far better than ie8. Loads the pages fast (even though I get jScript errors on the site we use I can deal with clicking OK vs going back to 8). So far though I haven't had any issues with other sites.
