@jman40194 In REAL battle, the ping is to quiet to hear outside of a few feet distance, no veteran I've talked to said they were worried about the ping sound in battle, even IF (in the extremely rare occasion) the enemy DID hear a ping, it meant nothing, other than 1 man in 20 is out plus that American instantly snaps back behind cover. In REAL battle the ping just let the shooter know he was out. Ive done alot of combat reenactments as German and American, and you just cannot hear it in battle

@LoneWolf051 hey i dont know why your going off on me...i never mentioned anything about the enemy hearing the ping...im just saying that IF a soldier were to hear that metal ping it would mean that hes out of ammo...now tell me...if youve ever talked to a veteran, then you will sure know the gut wrenching feeling they get when theres a click when theyre expecting a bang... and i highly doubt they invented the rifle to make the "ping" noise to tell the shooter hes out, the clip is just metal.

@jman40194 I've talked to plenty of veterans over the years, Garand invented the rifle to eject the clip automatically for 2 purposes, because it was faster than reloading a bolt action rifle, and box magazine fed rifles, aswell as to give a visual cue to the shooter that the ammunition has been expended. Since by the time you've shot 8 shots rapidly from the rifle, your ears are numb by the extreme noise, and hearing it is highly unlikely.

@secretfort23 It gives their position away. In fact, what G.I's would do is take the empty cartrages, throw them on the ground to make the ping noise, and when the enemy would pop their head thinking they were vulnerable, they'd blast him away.

@melikeFoW Actually, no, it's what cost a lot of our troops' lives. Whenever the Germans heard the ping sound, they'd rush you. However, eventually, we used it to our advantage. Sometimes we'd throw the clip in the air but really have the Garand loaded so that, when the enemy got ready attack, you could cap 'em right there.

The ping isn't actually as loud as you would think. It's the loudest when the metal bandolier hits the ground. I've seen a guy shoot a real one in real life. Btw: that gun is pretty sweet

The action is cool as hell. I fired the real one a few times and an airsoft version. For a "Toy" the airsoft is pretty damn close!! A little less noise and recoil of course. Airsoft is fun, paintball is too, but I do prefer hunting with a real gun.

It ejects the clip not the mag. The Garand has an internal magazine that is fed by inserting an en bloc clip.
