@wyldbros879 are you nuts? This move is sick! Its not just the dazzle factor, but the goalie is left in absolutely no position to stop the puck with the way Datsyuk set this up -- its a sure goal. Other players who just shoot or try a standard deek are just gambling, if the goalie swats his hand @ the puck @ the right time he stops it but with this move the goalie's only chance is to throw out the blocker hand, except he is using it to balance himself and will collapse on his ass if he tries.

@wyldbros879 He did it at least 3 times in the NHL and once in Russia when he was young. What's so amazing about the move is that in the end he just slowly lifts it up, the goalie can't do nothing at that point and it's almost like Datsyuk's taking his time. It worked even better on Turco, who completely went to the other side and opened the net. Datsyuk is smart though, he's not doing this move again and again, but you never know with him, so to say that "goalies are gonna know" isn't right.

pavel has offense and defense. something malkin and crosby BOTH lack. they have one way games.yes, malkin lead the league in takeaways but pav was second and didn't get out of position to get any of them. malkins takeaways consist of him coming down in the defensive zone and taking the puck from someone who is trying to get around the defensemen. two completely different things. pavel also has something else that malkin doesn't, creativity. pav is the most innovative player in the league, easily

so when you say refine his offensive skills you mean 97 points 2 straight seasons isn't enough???? that is also the difference between the penguins and the red wings. pavel and henrik know they play on a team. yes a ton of points are nice but all they care about at the end of the day is winning, not their individual stats. everyone knows that malkin and crosby are world class but after they played Detroit, everyone knows that hank and pav are 2 of the best all around forwards in the league.

@kaputa814 i'll give you some credit. Malkin doesn't get all of his takeaways from players being checked. He can pickpocket with the best of them. Secondly, Malkin's creativity is right up there with Datsyuk's. Their vision is better than everyone else's in the league, including everyone's favorite "Great 8". For those who think Ovie is the best Russian; you are so wrong. If it weren't for Backstrom and Semin feeding him, he's a nobody. Datsyuk and Malkin= Top Russians in NHL.

ok, but i didn't say he gets the puck after players are checked. my observations come from the finals beuase i haven't seen many games this year but i did notice this last regualar seasons as well. he'll pinch down on the backcheck and get the puck from behind when the guy is stopped by a defender. he did it 3 or 4 times in the SCF and the announcers make a huge deal about it. then pav goes straight at a guy and poke checks like the jagr check and they ignore it.
