There are a couple of common BC engines down here in Southern IL lately running on the coal trains coming out of Galatia and Johnston City, IL. never caught a number but have seen them a few times.
Hey man nice vids, Question: How come these cn freights all goto Illinois? is there a major depot out of any other states? Sorry i ask im from australia and not just your vids ive seen cn freights terminate @ IL.
CN has a large facility in Illinois. When they bought the Illinois Central many years back they acquired a gateway that takes them all the way through the heart of the US to the port in New Orleans.
Canadian grain and lumber going right through the heartland! LOL
Actually, Canadian National and Canadian Pacific locomotives are in the USA all the time since both railroads own a lot of trackage in the northern part of the country (so they're not really just Canadian railroads anymore). However, the BC Rail locomotive that is trailing on this train is more unusual.
I agree. No surprise here!!

wow is that all cn runs there is grain no autoracks no intermodal
RANDY2045 3 years ago
Hi, the reason that there are no intermodal or autoracks is because there is a tunnel on this line and they won't fit through the tunnel.
ic6071 3 years ago
they do however run autoracks and intermodal on the mainline around my area which is chicago to champaign
