  • just do it

  • I'm in queensland, in Cairns. I wish I had the money to start something up with permaculture. I'm so inspired, but too poor :( I wanna get started straight away whilst I'm young and fiery about it, but I don't own any land, and people seem to like their plain gardens at rent houses. Bill is god! :D

  • @dougymoo

you could volunteer at the permaculture institute for projects, get experienced and meet people. You would get somewhere with that?

  • @dougymoo Bill was once asked in 1979, "How am I going to do what you are talking about, I have a wife and kids and responsibilities?" Bill responded by saying "this is how you do it. First you quit your job, then you don't take the dole, then you have the right conditions to drive you to do it." After about a couple of days of an empty stomach, we will quickly find a way to do it. Wwoofing provides valuable opportunities to do it. Internships at Milkwood are provided in return for labor.

  • @ninyae -Ah, but despiration often drives situations as in Etheopia, shown in this video. But each decision we make DOES make a difference: buy local sustainably produced food, pasture raised meats, minimize the senseless waste we produce as individuals, where choices exist buy from small businesses w/a conscience- not from mega-corporations. And plant what you can, if only a hanging basket or container by the door.
