I visited this railway yesterday I have been going there for many years now and there is just so much to do there. And you have made a brilliant video.
Nice vid! I didn't realise they did a modern version of a steam push-pull on this lovely line. Good to see Black Prince; I was fortunate enough to have a footplate trip on this engine when it was on the R&ER in the early 80's. Well done; great shots and a well put together vid. (btw I'm a volunteer on the Gartell Light Railway in Somerset)
Thanks alot, much appreciated! t's not a proper push-pull train, not like a GWR 14XX + Autocoach where the 14XX can be controlled from the Autocoach. I think the driving trailer in this video is just used by crews as a look out when the train is being propelled. I intend to visit the GLR one day, I had a ride behind one of the GLR locos, "Mr G", at the Merehead Quarry Open Weekend in June 2008 which was very nice.
Cheers Chris. You should go over there sometime, it's a lovely line, not your average steam railway line. Loco No. 1 (Green Goddess) returns to use this year (around June time) after being out for over 3-4 years. The RH&DR are also having a Steam & Diesel Gala in October this year which should be good and no doubt feature double/triple headers and a visiting engine or two.
Beautiful railway. Great video.

great vid! lovely loco that 'black prince' isnt she? does anyone know what type loco she was replicated on?
Ashman595 2 years ago
I dont think she is replicated on any particular loco, but she is most certainly pride of the fleet.

WoW! Awesome vid!! 5* I loved the shot Southern Maid passing The Warren!! Thats what I call a whistle!! :)

Cheers Cameron. The whistle was good for the video, but not for the photo. All the steam coming from it obliterated the view of the coaches!
