The British did send troops to fight in Korea. The actor Michael Caine saw action in Korea as a soldier in the British army. I also met someone who served with the Royal Navy off the Korean coast on a ship that bombarded the Reds. Most of the UN troops were American but countries of many nations served in Korea including my country, Canada.
No, there were many nationalities often invovled heavily in the fighting. The Gloucester Regiment held off thousands of Chinese troops in one famous battle.
No I'm not. The Chinese were heavily involved in Korea. Otherwise the UN would have won. Many nations were invovled - even the Turkish army had a small but vital role in preventing the UN forces from being overun. Do go read up about the war.
@anthonythirteen you said "Chinese Troops" not chinese indirect envolvement like armory support...and still we can say United States faced Corea's army.. (Atention, because United States were the main force..Corea war wasnt like Kosovo, were NATO or UN were many times spelled as the confronting force.) since other countries of UN were just doing some mine defensive or support positions like in vietnam.
No, don't attempt to split hairs, Chinese troops WERE there - and this was the first war that the UN fought as the 'UN'. Whilst the South Korean and USA armies were the largest, don't minimise the fact that many countries had troops in the front line & performed many heroic feats in the face of overwhleming opposition.
I'm sure they'd all puke if they saw the music that went with this tribute...
