I have a male spiny mouse that's about 7 months old, and I just wanna ask, since you seem to have quite some experience with them...
I understand they identify things by nibbling, or "mouthing", but even when mine's in-hand he still bites. It doesn't seem agressive, but it does draw blood. He really only bites once or twice.

My spinies does not nibble at all... What you see in the video is just smelling...

I heard females are mad. -.- But now we have 3 little babies and they can be touched, they don't get mad and they're sooo cute! :) I love them... ^^
