What sets Lebanon apart from the rest of the Arab world is the fact that is/was the only majority Christian state (Maronite Catholic) which I believe is the reason the country was able to prospter for so long. If they had just kept out the Jew/Palestinian conflict, they would have been better off.

What sets Lebanon apart from the rest of the Arab world is the fact that is/was the only majority Christian state (Maronite Catholic) which I believe is the reason the country was able to prospter for so long. If they had just kept out the Jew/Palestinian conflict, they would have been better off.
