sometimes when I look at this footage it hard to beleive that the nazis and allies are also doing battle on the other side of the world.

trully a "world war"

the pacific war was so different from the european theatre it almost feels like they take place in different eras, they feel years apart especially when you look at this old footage. The tactics equipment and types of battles contrast with the european battles alot.

anybody else feel this or is is just me?

TheProjecktcc, just something to think about: World War II experienced every type of warfare: urban, oceanic, air, forest bocage, jungle, mountain, desert, and even a warfare I call "Beach warfare" on Normandy.

Yeah I know, that is just amazing to try grasp carnage on such a scale, nothing like the wars of today.

but yeah the different fronts all have their own unique battles, stories, weapons, tactics, myths, heroes, casualties it's like each front is it's own seperate war.

WW3 would probably be a nuclear war-- but despite all the destruction it's so impersonal there is no romance, heroism or villainy--anything for future generations to look back and get anything out of-- in a nuclear war
