Phil and Randy covered Marks "Love is not the only thing" on Mystery Highway and man, is it good. That entire album flows perfectly from start to finnish. Check out Mystery Highway!
I keep trying to find the song and video for a song that was on his album that had the song called like an island, thats not the song I am looking for though, the song i wasnt is one called touched by the love, it was the only song on that album of his that was sung by someone else, can anyone help me find it?
Wow, this is the first time I've ever listened to Phil Keaggy. A lot different than I expected. Great cover! I've been listening to Mark's demo from Hammers and Nails a lot lately.
I think the "Tall Fellow" is James Hollihan, but it could easily be Nichols. Wade Jaynes on bass and Philly Madeira on keys. Never got a bead on the drummer.
I love Phil!!! I'll never forget hearing him when I was 11 at Jesus '82 in Orlando Florida. I must have gotten his autograph 4 times. I couldn't get enough of his music. Still can't! He made my 80s great!
I really love this song. Great cover brother Phil. Great vocals and guitar playing. The lyrics get me every time. Pure poetry. I often wonder what material St Mark is writing now in Heaven. Is he jamming with the late Larry Norman. Are they now covering one of my tunes (ha ha ha). I know Jesus does (ha ha ha). St Mark's music is a great blessing in my life. I am so glad I HEARD his music (sorry about the pun). god bless you alex
@electricguitarplayr Thanks mate, I love Keaggy playing Heard. I rarely love covers but My Keaggy adds such a new flavor to the song I just love it. Above the playing and the singing I just love the words, the story of my life. Love in JC alex
Can't tell you how glad I am you posted this! Phil Keaggy is one the most talented musicians. Love him, Randy Stonehill, and Mark Heard of course. Thanks again!
You're such an inspiration, Phil! First song I ever heard by you was in the 80s called 'Talk About Suffering' in which the sound of your guitar had caught my attention. You helped me into Christian music from then on.
Phil played this on a Gretsch too! I love his "Sunday's Child" album. He's even playing his pre-CBS Strat! The Newsboys own it now, so it's still in good hands.
You stated that it is from the Mark Heard tribute, and I simply noted that you're restating that which is already written in the description. I did not say anything about how rare or available this video is.....
I remember this happy song during a happy time in my walk with the Lord. See ya soon in heaven Phil. Hope they have a really BIG sound system there!

Hollihan, indeed.
Drummer is Mike Mead.

I always assumed that, but decided not to speculate until I saw him. Wow....half of Chagall Guevara.

Say who's the tall fellow on Phil's right playing the black Rickenbacker model 450 solid body electric guitar? Is that Lynn Nichols?
