  • these project were awesome and creative, I myself just started with electronics i'm still pretty new to it I am learning that and the micro controllers and I'm glad to say my first one was a Arduino Uno and its absolutely amazing its flexible you can pretty much do anything on it that is simple until it gets past its 18 volts threshold then it becomes a little more difficult like the guy who had the shift registers. happy inventing everyone props for the people in the video

  • Valve and Arduino sounds like a good combo. Im wanting to get into Arduinos now after playing gmod using wiremod. I love wiremod for gmod and love building circuits. Arduino seems like a great combo.

  • I deeply believed this is what USA should heading to. The good old creativiity, imagination plus sweating. My kudos to all the talent people participating in this video. Keep it up. I wish our government could invest more free educational programs for these people in college. Thanks you.

  • Add magnets for infinite energy.

  • the little girl at 1:35... is that the little girl that play's louis ck's daughter on louie??

  • Excellent.... Now back to work, HL3 wont go gold by itself. :)

  • Hey Jerriellsworth. I haven't been keeping up. I'm just checking in to let you know that I am not losing interest. Keep on keeping on.

  • @vince086 Cheers, I will check that out. 300 pins seems like a reasonable free limit.

@lwr20: I tried kicad. It's the beginnings of something good, but far from actually usable... Better than geda at least.

  • i love the portal turret, sound needs to be a bit louder

  • I saw an ad for your show on the ben heck show haha

  • Thanks for sharing this :)

  • Really cool projects there! :)

  • So apparently it's bring your daughter to work day, where are the potato batteries? :)

  • I use Kicad as an alternative to Eagle.

  • @lwr20 Kicad is great!

  • I'm glad someone else thinks eagle is awful. Who screws up copy/paste? Are there any good alternatives?

  • @TimmmmCam Diptrace is easy to use, don't know about the rest.

  • shouldn't you be working on episode 3 good sir?

  • The Portal turret is soo cute, I want one! :-)

(but an advanced version with pir sensor for triggering the 'I see you' sound etc. ;-) )

  • @hmpeter It does have a PIR sensor.

  • Magic smoke!

  • I wonder, did anyone there recognize you?

  • @covertads Yup.

  • How expensive would it be to install this? package it?

  • i like that dude mono lights it cool

  • Yay, videos which don't make me feel stupid. That's rare on your channel. =)

  • I've got Ben's Xbox 360 disc changer, so at some point I need to learn how to wire a couple 7 seg displays to it to display disc number, and maybe even a keypad for a jukebox-type thing.

  • I recently joined the Robotics Club at my college. We're going to be doing stuff with the Arduino microcontroller like this soon. Nice work :D

  • Parking gauge: Other than for the fun of it, you don't really need to know how many feet there is to "the tennis ball." It would be good enough to use three led's: One foot to go, Stop! and Aw, crap!!

Bicycle wheel: This reminds me of a certain Plink-o-meter, but inside out.

  • needs potatoes

  • Jeri Ellsworth, good with pinball, good with electro-mechanical and now added to the list good with kids! :)

  • I bet Gabe made a motion controlled sandwich.

  • EAGLE does tell you if you forgot to route a trace. He must've looked over it...

  • no potato powered projects?

  • how does this help with episode 3?

  • The someone else who taught the class was me, Andrew Davidson. The workshop details are at my website: goldensection.cc

  • Seems to be Bring Your Daughter To Work Day at Valve. That can't end well. At least there's no potato-batteries.

  • we love jeri ellsworth

  • one other song you can play on a theramin:

    the original star trek theme...

  • @Whisper6911 True!

  • Portal turret!! O.O Yay!! :D

  • theremin zero!!

    awesome.

  • I always liked Valve, are they aiming for stand-alone games that can play themselves...

  • Wow- I want to work there! Not the the dessert cook-off that we host at work is all that bad...

  • Cool, looked like a good time for sure!

  • 04:33 Is that guy Serge from Beverly Hills cop??

  • That is so cool.

  • At the end, always last minute... That explains what happened with portals 2 dlc. xD

  • bkraz333 is here? Nice! 2 for the price of one.

  • @89rafa Good eye.

  • @jeriellsworth I'm tempted to change my legal name to bkraz333. Or I could finally finish that time machine project, and go back to choose a better youtube screen name.

  • @bkraz333 Engineer formerly known as bkraz333.

  • @jeriellsworth "Law abiding Engineer"

  • Valve employee ... like from company that made Halflife?

  • @kildas Yep.

  • @jeriellsworth ques wh know whats next mini (hacking) game will be in portal3 or HL3 :P

  • Hmmmm, interesting. Have you got some more info on this? Why is Valve doing this stuff? Cool beginner projects there.

    Good questions/interviews. :)

  • @TheCrazyInventor They do fun classes from time to time for the employees

  • @jeriellsworth Oh, I see. Good to see that those software people at Valve are also interested in hardware.

  • Hey Jerry, very cool. So were you working with Valve on the Arduino class or were you just there for the show & tell?

  • @MrJrsphoto they had someone else taught the Arduino class.
