@onixtheone And exactly how are you supposed to touch it, anyway? Auroras are formed at altitudes of 100 km and higher. Good luck getting there...

@onixtheone Normal planes only fly up to 40 km high... you'd need a space shuttle to get up there. I'm pretty sure "touching" the aurora can't kill you instantaneously, but the radiation from particles entering the atmosphere can't be good for you if you're exposed to it for too long.

It's good to see NASA playing catch-up with the pioneers of plasma cosmology. An excelent video. It is still a shame, however, that plasma and electromganetism ares still overlooked, for the post part, in mainstream astronomy! It threatens their elegant mathematical models, which are based on the weak force of gravity alone.
