  • Live Axel is terrible!!!

  • @sd619brian First off you misspelled Axle. And second, you are wrong, there are many benefits to having a live rear axle. For example, with a live rear axle you can put more power down to the road easier than an independent rear axle.

  • Wow

  • I'm a Chevy fan to the core, but I just love this new Boss 302, I mean look at it, how could you NOT like it??

  • Honda was porting the Integra Type R back in 1997. Not a honda fanboy just saying.

  • Cool car

  • I was all set to buy a Laguna Seca edition of this car. Pre-ordered and everything. Imagine my surprize when the car came in and then the dealer told me I had to pay $39,000 over sticker, that's right over $85,000 for a Mustang. Went and bought a 996 turbo instead. Car came with g50 kit(450HP), $10,000 worth of hidden audio gear and $7,000 worth of HRE wheels. Cost $42,000.

  • Does anyone know the background music @ 0:53 - 1:22?

  • Is there an advantage to keeping the live axle??

  • @Heezy2090 cost savings is the main reason for it

  • JF seriously man enough with the elevator music. id rather have silence

  • Not a Mustang fan at ALL, and no, I'm not a Camaro guy either. Just never liked the 'stang. However, the new GT, this, and the Cobra are all quality. The best Mustangs ever by FAR. Modern legend though?...meh... Great vid Leo, loved the specifics going around the Laguna Seca course.

  • I have never been a Mustang fan till now... Ok I lied, only the 5.0 Mustangs.

  • i cant even drive yet and could do better than he did on that lap, without assists too.

  • but y car so heavy?!!

  • Yo FLD I have a proposal for you.. GET RID OF THE FREAKING ''ROAD TESTICLE''(as eliteguard01 accurately mentions) AND GIVE US MORE OF THIS!! Just listen to some feedback for crying out loud.. take a look at the thumbs up he recieved for his comment and how many thumbs down you got -_-.. Love the show just get rid of those two idiots(JF is cool but not for a show presentor).

  • yea I don't get why everybody's sippin haterade, I like alex and roy's segment, I can relate to them as car guys. Leo is too much about 'on track' car stuff, not saying i don't like his stuff, but road testament brings balance. in my humble view.

  • thank you leo...

  • It was really nice to see the "car geek" from Ford so excited about his car. I recognize my own excitement and pride in my work.

  • Is it just me or is the G meter readout upside down? Shouldn't the dot move up under braking and down under acceleration? Just a thought.

  • No wonder M3 is going with a V6 TT Nissan slayer.

oil is now $120/bar going on $200 before Obama is done in 1.5yrs

  • what's with the hate, I like the Road Testament

  • Right handed Shelby Mustang in Australia = 155k

    BMW M3 = 141K

    Winner = HSV Maloo at 67k :P

  • @Zwank36

Except this isn't a Shelby Mustang....

  • @EvilxMerlin No shit.

  • maybe you should keep as many parts of the show as you can. Fast, fresh, "every day"

  • I much rather here the debate style shows which were in G419...keep the road testament.

Please stop with the Ford infomercials though

  • I didn't realize that leo was such a short guy... no wonder he fits it a racecar so well :0)

  • Could you guys post the whole lap somewhere?

  • Good review, hope to see more of Leo doing something thats actually entertaining. Do more of these types of reviews, and talking to the design engineers is great. I really enjoy seeing the nerds behind the scene and technical details of motors and chassis.

  • Great infomercial

Mustangs are garbage and will always be garbage so long as Americans design and build them.

  • @JETTSET lol... ouch... really?? The new 5.0L is garbage? The gt500 w/ the all aluminum block? the new Boss302 is garbage? Why? Maybe when compared to some benchmark performance vehicles, but you really think modern mustangs are as much garbage as older mustangs?? Because of American design and construction??

It was a Ford PR event... it was not like FLD tried to inject something "infomercial" like into it... Leo critiques the boss, not all praise.

  • @JETTSET Lol. Dude, the Mustang GT 5.0 is almost as good as an M3. Just because the cars aren't like the Europeans doesn't mean the cars are bad. Just built for different environments.

  • @100littlecurses I like the mustang, and the recent models are a realy improvement. But the mustang will only blossom when the words "live rear axel" are purged from Ford's vocabulary.

  • @aemst

First its axle got it? Second, the live axle Mustang outhandles any of the Camaros or Challengers and comes damn close to outhandling the BMW M3 around a twisty track. Maybe GM will purge pushrod based engines from its vocabulary too???

  • @aemst Eh, they've made it work for the customers. Yeah, it won't be as stable at its absolute limit, but most people who buy a Mustang aren't going to track it. People who are serious will just buy a Roush Mustang or something.

  • @100littlecurses

HUH? Most people at the track with Mustangs have GT's. Um, and the Boss is QUITE stable at its limits. Where the fuck do you get your information? From the 1970s?

  • @EvilxMerlin No, the Boss is awesome, and a great car that can beat many cars twice its price. I was talking about the GT- live rear axle will still have problems on a windy road with bumps. Why you would go fast on a road like that, I have no idea.

Also, how many people who buy GTs actually take it to the track? The majority of customers just use it as a daily driver or weekend car.

  • @100littlecurses

Um, the GT itself nearly tops the M3. THE BASE GT. Not the Boss, not hte GT500, the base GT. I'm willing to bet more people with GT's bring the car to the track than folks with the GT500 or the Boss...

  • @EvilxMerlin Yes, I know the GT is as good as an M3. Dude, I'm not talking trash about the Mustang. Its a great car. You misread my first comment. The Mustang isn't built for the track, so the live rear axle is okay. Also, its not as stable as a Roush, because Roush Mustangs are for the track.

  • @EvilxMerlin

Stang has horrible blind spots from drivers seat, 360 blind spots.

    M3 has adult rear seats.

I took the M3 conv dual clutch

  • @euro944t

I don't give two rats ass about rear seats. Nor does anyone else buying the Mustang.

And just where are these blind spots? We are not talking about the camaro here boy. Get your facts right.

The Mustang GTis MUCH less expensive and performs just as well, and the Boss Mustang simply crushes the M3 and is STILL less expensive.

  • @EvilxMerlin

GT rear side window is a joke, so are you "boy". Actually Camaro is better buy with 450hp new engine.

  • @euro944t

I guess you haven't driven the Camaro or the Challenger if you thing the rear side window is a joke. Camaro doesnt have a 450 HP engine. Not even close. So do us all a favour. Educate yourself, you look like a fool every time you open your mouth.

  • @EvilxMerlin

"Chevy reclaims the historic ZL1 nameplate and screws it to a 550-plus-hp GT500 hunter."

Your were right fool, NOT 450hp, it's 550hp direct inj, the base will have 450hp to match the new Hemi.

    Consider yourself educated now.

  • @EvilxMerlin

    Driven a late Z06, M6, B7, M3, GT.

    I'm looking forward to driving the new Mustang Slayer Camaro and Challengers {grin}

What does a fool like yourself drive ?

  • @euro944t

Except the fact that the Camaro and Challengers in the same price classes as the V6, GT and GT500 (and now Boss) can keep up with the Mustangs in the 1/4 or AutoX. Nice try.

So I was right. You haven't driven the Camaro or Challenger. Got it in one.

  • @JETTSET

How so? Funny how Ford rates better in overall customer satisfaction and build quality over both BMW and Mercedes. In fact both German companies are at the bottom of the list, right along with quite a few Japanese car manufactures. Get your fucking retard head out of the 80's. 3 decades have past since you have bothered to educate yourself it seems.

  • @EvilxMerlin Well stated.

  • New Road & Track has the Boss beating an R8 around Laguna, for $60,000 less. Solid rear axel vs. AWD, solid rear wins. wow

    Props to Ford.

  • @Headshot426 Really? Thats amazing! haha

  • Seriously? You should be watching FLD at all if all your gonna do is sit at your desk job Thursday morning trying to compile a stupid witty comment saying 'Musicals and Baldy are fags lol'. I loved this episode Leo, love Mustangs, but I also like RT and you all shouldn't watch it just to hate, thats why I rarely watch shakedown cause I don't care for racing as much, but I don't sit on my ass making fun of Leo. They work hard to give you fast fresh auto news every week and all you guys do is hate

  • Pullin' over a G in some corners... legit.

  • The HD Quality isn't great on this vid, needs some anti-aliasing. Great look at the 302 though.

  • this guys voice is way to weak to actually host the show...its like he's a mouse

  • Holy shit, look at those heads! I did not know they went that far with the heads... crazy stuff.

  • OH MY GOD! I am glad I went right to FLD, hells yes! amazing commentary and video, I always love watching someone with skill pilot around Laguna Seca, not to mention Leo! Great commentary Leo.

This was such a killer episode, holy shit good.

  • wooo. i appreciate the auto tech now. they put a lot of work into it. thanks for sharing!

  • Anyone else interested in how tall (or short) Leo Parente is now? xD

  • The laguna seca edition in black and red is by far the manliest car ever produced

  • @Coy1750 have you ever seen a zonda - not exactly a girly car

  • good engine guy car

  • ford fucked on race day

  • @1967CAMAROBOY lol guess you didnt watch the video troll :P

  • ford rustang loss .302

  • AWESOME VIDEO !!!!

  • Nicely done Leo.

  • @transfer8 You're an idiot and don't call me your friend faggot

  • those ports have a RMS of about 300. NOT NECESSARY with fuel injection and especially not if the car has direct injection. the ports should be much smoother, you don't need rough ports to keep the fuel in suspension with FI... that's old carburetor tech. C'mon, get with it...

  • learned more in this video than in my lectures

  • Really enjoyed this show!

  • This is what Gran Turismo will look like in the future 0:34

  • Finally the Road Testicle has been canceled! It is about freaking time! Good show Leo!

  • @FastLaneDaily can you guys pleeeeeaaaaaase do something about that crappy music - i just wanna hear what's being said - the music ain't at all cool

  • @EliteGuard01 Some of us actually like the show and can actually take some information and opinions from the hosts. If you have nothing good to say about it maybe it would be better for you to keep your inspirational opinion to yourself- that goes to the 4 other douchebags that liked your post too.

Keep the show up guys- more exposure is not a bad thing for the car world- which basically runs a good amount of the world.

  • @raoke69 I have nothing against them personally or their opinions. The fact of the matter is that The Road Testament SUCKS! Not because of who is hosting it but because of how it is done. It's terribly boring! Most of the stuff the talk about is already common knowledge, and anyone who is a car person can have a similar chat with another car person anytime they want, making the road testament redundant. More cars and less talk! The last two episodes were an improvement over the ones before.

  • nice

  • how do you get that display on the camera. What software/recording instruments?

  • Leo is a feckin' legend!! More Leo!

  • i hate mustangs period

  • @codyschuyler I hate Camaros period

  • @codyschuyler Nice to know.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm drunk and this is awesome!!!!!!

  • @transfer8 well, that made almost no sense at all...

  • HAHA leo looks like a bitch compared to the ford engineer

  • This car needs more low, the original 302 was known for having pretty low ride height.

  • I agree with Leo!!! Ford should not limit the production of the Boss and the Leguna Seca Boss, because then this amazing DRIVERS CAR will have nearly all of the bought up by uber-rich car collectors who'll hardly ever even fire up the motor much less drive it ever less actually drive it like it was meant to be driven!!!! All the while the majority of the people who would give almost anything to have one may never have the chance to even see one!!! Then the rich guys will wreck most of them!!!!!!

  • So...with the Boss 302...I guess we don't need to compare the GT 5.0 to the M3 anymore right?

  • 4:20 Who is Leo looking at??

  • watch the 1911 version...it could be the greatest thing on youtube...

  • if those numbers are accurate... O.o fast!

  • Leo, Leo, Leo. Good Job!

  • watch the g's at the corkscrew

  • Leo is such a midget.

  • Brilliant as usual Leo, thank you!

  • dead cats < shit < a live fish < alex and roy < new underwear << leo parente

  • Leo you should do more videos like this one

  • The engineer mentions a 7400 rpm power peak, but the video seems to show a 6000 rpm redline.... maybe a rev limiter to prevent over-driving at the event??

  • @ead1017 It looks like the program used to show that image on the screen wont go higher than 6k. You can hear the engine going harder even after it stops at 6.

  • 4:19 what the fuck are you looking at

  • You know you played too much GT5 and Forza 3 when Laguna Seca looks more familiar than the road you live on.

If only had the time and money to actually be able to get a few laps there in a real car.

  • Good job Leo!

  • @yummy1234098 about 6, 2

  • Where's Alex and Musicals ah I mean JF

  • what a great video! another positive note on my bday

  • how tall is this guy?!?!

  • finally something worth watching on a thursday thanks Leo!!!!

  • Great video guys!

  • more leo!!!.....

  • Finally the 2 clowns are gone! Go Leo!

  • @dimitarttt Woot, i agree, now with the Road Testament gone, this show can actually grow and be successful without being held back my Douchey McDouchesters and Sir Douchesalot.

  • great job leo

  • OH GREAT ENGINE FROM FORD!...and the technician is european -.-

  • Leo, you're definitely one of my few favorite fellow automotive enthusiasts. So many other journalist would've honed in on what exactly the Ford engineers were saying to them, let that persuade their honest view of the car, then regurgitate that information to the viewer. But not Leo Parente...and I appreciate that. Keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to the F1 recap tomorrow. Today was a wonderful visual break from closeups of J.F. and Alex's faces :)

  • leo! Back in the saddle :D

  • Great vid, Leo, but whose software is that? You can clearly hear the motor revving toward 7,500, but the tach stopped at 6!

  • I have an '83 Ford Mustang, I enjoyed this video a bunch.

  • whats a track key

  • leo great video

  • Great review Leo!

What I get from these reviews makes me think that THIS Mustang (302) has the balance and poise that ALL Mustangs should have. It would have to have a slightly softer ride Im sure. But to me it still seems that the Mustang is a bit lacking when compared to the balance of other FR performance vehicles. Whats your take on that Leo?

  • The only Rustang I would consider buying, the BOSS 302 LS. Nice review Leo.

  • Is Leo really short or is that other guy a giant 1:37

  • Leo, Please do more car reviews exactly like this.

  • i love leos professional approach to what he does ...... i so would love to see him do more prestigious cars than just the boss 302 . he nailed the gumpert i really wanna see more like that ...

  • its ride height still looks really high

  • leo on the laguna very cool. leo should host top gear usa

  • YES LEO!!!!!!!! You know what you are doing AND you kept us Road Testament free for the week. More of this please, FLD.

  • how tall is leo, 4 feet?

  • Finally, a Mustang I'm interested in...still think the rear is too big. Make it shorter and compact please! Now, about the price...

  • Comment removed

  • hopefully this means the other 2 douchebags are out of segments this week

  • Great Job Leo! But color schemes are awful, Yuk ! Ford enough with the updated retro Jack-o-lantern look. Wheels and mirrors matching? Just not for me

  • still a live axle? seriously ford...?

  • @AdmanFatman live axle=perfect for drifting!

  • @AdmanFatman Doesn't need anything else

  • you the man

  • EVO FTW!

  • 302th viewer sweet.

  • RUBBISH!!!!

  • Absolutely amazing. I've always been a sucker for the Mustang brand, even have an 05 GT as my current car, but this is the Mustang brand at its best. Extremely capable on the track but very easy to live with on a day-to-day basis, thanks in part to the two keys that come with the Laguna Seca edition. Please Leo, do more informative videos like this and get rid of the Road Testament.

  • I love when fld does videos like this...

  • How much for a well equipt 302?

  • @MrAvalanche2004 $47,000

  • No need to say this of course, but this is MUCH better than Road Testament

  • we saw that 5.0 GT equals M3 performance. 302 will equal M3 GTS!!!

  • Also, does anyone know the music @ 5:29-6:26?

  • THAT IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT RIGHT THERE! GO THIRSDAY! GOOD JOB JF.

  • This car should be in the next NFSHP DLC.

  • great video.

  • 302 views FTW!

  • LEO IS SO SHORT ROFL!!!

  • legend.......that might be a stretch

  • I really appreciate Leo's expert commentary.

  • @Peptou Agreed!

  • how were the lap times??

  • I love how mustang paint job job show orange peel shamelessly

  • good job, leo.

  • <<<< 302nd viewer

  • Hennessey* my fucking iPad pisses me off with autocorrect!

  • I love fast lane daily but I would like to see you all do more reviews like this you know maybe going out to sealy Texas and reviewing a hen essay dodge challenger viper........or ford mustang 5.0 cobra etc......

  • Ha ha I got the 302nd view!!!!!

  • Well.. I didn't like the show that much!

    Leo sounded like a salesman!

  • @i010524 Yeah, these things are only good when the reviewer trashes the car!! "I hate the Mustang! I can't see out of it. Oh, adjustable seat? Side exhaust exits? Sounds great, but someone will burn their leg! That sucks. 5-way shocks I can set myself? Why is Ford making ME work to tune the car?"

    OK, Happy? Ha!

  • Best Thursday show ever...............and I actually like Alex!

  • wow... may i just say i'm impressed. leo sure does know how to review a car. I would love to see more Leo car reviews. I know it's probably a serious pain in the ass you guys to get press events to review cars but when you do, let Leo do it :-)

  • @Marshmallowrex lol in the end you still drive a shitbox ricer honda hahahahahahahahahaahha

  • Hand ported heads? Impressive.

  • Should've been a shakedown or FLDetour.. you guys do realize it's Thursday, right?

  • I'm glad I'm the 302nd viewer as well! Thanks youtube

  • Doesnt Leo remind you of the father in America Pie? thumbs up or thumbs down.
